Alfred saying "not in this lifetime" is so poignant and sad it honestly made me tear up. Because no Batman ever got to stop wearing the cowl until Christian Bale hung up in DKR. Even Keaton had to don it again for Flash.
I would love to see the Schumacher Cut of Batman Forever even if it only has a slight changes to the film we already saw.
Batman Forever was the first Batman movie I seen in the cinema and I still love it.
I think it’s underrated, people unfairly group it in with Batman and Robin which has its flaws.

Still so crazy how the studio saw Forever as more "Family Friendly" When it was just as if not even more erotic than returns between the sexualization of the batsuit (nipples butt etc), comments like "black rubber", Two Faces girls in lingerie etc.
I wish I had gotten to see the shumaker cut. Batman forever is my favorite childhood Batman film
I think since I was able to see a screening it won’t be too long before it ends up leaking online if DC doesn’t release it!

So far that hasn’t been any news on a release of the Schumacher Cut. I’m guessing their won’t be if they haven’t done it yet unfortunately. Would be so easy for them to throw it on Max and get a bunch of viewers too.
I imagine it will leak online eventually if there are copies floating around like the one Kev Smith has.

@@SJ_1990 You're looking for "Batman Unchained"... which was Schumacher's original idea and script. It was never shot... not even one scene, so there is nothing to find.
That and "The Schumacher Cut" of Batman Forever are completely different.
You can find the script online, though.
What Batman Forever needed was flashbacks.
The film should've shown flashbacks of Harvey Dent before he was disfigured.
Tommy Lee Jones is so perfect to play the DA, it’s a shame we didn’t get to see some scenes of him working in the courtroom

@@morgandavis6788he probably would have given a different performance had it not been such a, “har-Dee-har-har” silly movie, and instead a more serious crime drama, maybe something like the Dark Knight, for example as far as the overall tone of the film 🤷♂️
I’d love to see the kind of Batman movie Nicole Kidman thought this would be. Her every scene was acted (and weirdly also shot?) like a film noir piece.

I actually don't remember seeing that shot of Robin getting closure from Two-Face's death. I remember it cut immediately from the wide of him falling into the pit to Arkham Asylum,.
7:28 In the theatrical cut, and it is extremely brief with an overhead shot, we do actually see the floor dissappear around Batman as the lair gets destroyed which revealed half of the floor as a hologram as you say. But it is a blink and you miss it moment as we see Sugar and Spice run away as the lair is destroyed.
Awesome! You can see the hologram flickering. I never noticed that.
"Batman Forever" was.. all right. Great score by Elliot Goldenthal though(love his themes for the Riddler and Two-Face).
He really did good work here. There’s some other great scores of his from the 90s, he doesn’t get talked about enough.

Cutting out Two face's hand catching the coin after death... thats one of the best parts of the movie.
I know! Reminds me of T2. I wonder if they did a reshoot to add that moment or if it just didn’t make it into the Schumacher Cut at that point.
need a physical release badly
There is the official comic book adapation of Batman Forever (where you can find and read online), where there are included some of the deleted scenes (and the order of the comic scenes is like the order from the original script), including the escape of Two Face from the Arkham Asylum, the scene with the Riddler who gives Chase the shot with the syringe and the original ending with Chase with Alfred (with that famous quote) and then Batman e Robin standing on a gargoyle with the city and the batsignal behind them, so I really believe it was made when the cut of the film was still the one wanted by Schumacher and not the one later modified by Warner.
I was there. Seated near to Kev. He was crying for 90% of the movie.
Which month did you go? I was at the 2nd screening in August.

Would be interesting, we haven’t seen a solo Batman movie go further into the sci fi direction like that could.
I don't want "The Schumacher Cut"...
I want Schumacher's original script and idea to finally be made into a film... "Batman Unchained".
I'd love if they started making animated films out of unused scripts like Superman Lives or Batman Unchained. Use the same design style as if were made back then. I think those would be a hit because so many of us have read about those potential films.

There are some deleted scenes in the form of cards and stickers for the movie. Idk if you’ve seen them. If you have, by any chance were some of them in the movie’s cut, like The Riddler putting Dr. Chase meridian to sleep with a syringe to the neck or Edward Nygma building Claw Island?
I’ve seen that card! I don’t believe that made it into the Schumacher cut that I saw. Strange! There are a couple cards that didn’t seem to be scenes included in the version I saw. It’s possible they were cut very early on.
Makes me sad general audiences will never see the Schumacher cut.

I could see it happen at some point. If they think there's money to be made, they'll do it. The film's 30th anniversary is coming in 2025, so that might be the perfect time for it. Plus, WB have done alternate cuts for films before with the Donner for Superman II, extended tv cut for Superman: The Movie, and Snyder cut, obviously. Fingers crossed, they'll eventually add the Schumacher cut to that list.

I’ve been in the minority, but thought Val balanced the Bruce/Batman roles well… didn’t believe MK was a billionaire (awesome Batman) Clooney (bad casting) Bale did both well, Affleck good Bruce bad Batman… just my taste tho
Personally I think with the right director they all could do great/different performances. Including Clooney, he was going for an Adam West style it seemed. Which could have worked with the way Marvel makes lighter hero movies.
I love all the scenes of Kilmer in the batcave. They seemed to get his best dramatic work there.

Also when batman 🦇 begins got made 8 years later I was ,so glad Christopher Nolan directed it in his own image on how batman 🦇 should be ,and Christian bale was chosen.

BOF sent me here. Thank you for making this video. Hopefully one day WB will release this Director's Cut of the film. I'm surprised they cut some parts out from the original film, I suppose that might be needed to help with the tone of the film. I'd be perfectly fine if they left all the original scenes in and just added in the cut scenes. It would make the film longer and there is nothing wrong with that.

To me it sounds like what we got is the best version of the movie. I enjoy Forever and definitely have a soft spot for it, but boy does that movie drag in parts. I think the pacing sounds slower in this cut, especially how it doesnt start with the vault heist. The cut sounds like it has it moments but overall we got the best timeline. Would still watch if it got released for sure tho
Definitely a slower pace in the Schumacher Cut. I can see why they deleted the things that they did for the theatrical. Someone to the deleted scenes did help smooth the pace out a bit but in truth they probably could cut a bit more… I’m looking at you Nicole Kidman scenes lol
They could've made something out of the giant bat in his nightmare. We could've seen that character from the Animated Series
I know! The way the Bat looked and how they shot it really could have been interesting as the Man-Bat character.

How was the quality of the deleted scenes? Were they at least touched up to match the film?
This copy of the Schumacher Cut came from the editing stage so the deleted scenes hadn’t been touched up yet. However I was watching in the theatre on a big screen and it didn’t bother me. Getting Warner Bros to remaster those scenes probably won’t happen unless we get an official release.
Hopefully, we get the Schumacher Cut released on Blu Ray.
If it took 19 years for us to get the official release of the Producers Cut of Halloween 6, we should be able to get this. Maybe in a couple of years for the 30th anniversary of Batman Forever, we'll get it.
it's always interesting to see different cuts of movies - just look at both versions of payback with mel gibson

The city of Stockton California is now Gotham California. It takes place is 1994 and 2014
In 1994 during a surge of gang violence, a vigilante going by the name of The Batman, begins to murder gang leaders, draining them of their blood and leaving their bodies in public places for all to see.
Towards the end of the year, more vicious criminals begin to attack the city.
The Batman's first big criminal he kills is an Unnamed, ms13 Salvadoran member who went by the name of Joker.
Joker would butcher five families in their homes, killing fifteen before murdering 4 prostitutes and a cop. It was reported that The Batman kept Joker alive for seven hours, during which he tortured the man, having to revive him with medication when Joker continued to pass out from pain.
The Batman would also take on the District Attorney Harvey Dent after finding numerous cases had been done through illegal means. The Batman would burn half of Harvey's face using steam from a pan and carve into the burns, "two faced". Harvey would die from his injuries hours later
The batman would again cause controversy by 95, after throwing a female drug dealer from a six story roof by the name of poison Ivy.
The batman would finally go into hiding after viciously murdering crime boss Oswald Copplepot by slowly waterboarding him for four hours before holding his head in a bucket until he drowned.
A new batman would emerge as the city would fall back in chaos and crime during the cities bankruptcy. But that's another story for another time

Part of me doesn't want to see it because to me Batman Forever is perfect and one of my favourite movies of all time.

Batman Forever would have been so much better if two face was just dialed back. A serious, menacing two face acting as a foil against a zany, over the top riddler would have worked a lot better.
I agree! Jim Carey is gonna be himself so that's what you'll get with his Riddler. On the other hand Tommy Lee Jones is the perfect person to play a serious Two Face... He just went in a different direction. The movie he filmed before Batman Forever is Natural Born Killers where he also plays a over the top character... Interesting to wonder how he would have played Two Face if he didn't film that role right before this one.

No, this was a version early in the editing process. It had multiple deleted scenes that are not in Red Book or anywhere else online. I wish it were! I’d like to see some of those scenes again.
Really interesting. Never much of a fan but fascinating to hear about how editing changes focus and tone.
Theatrical version didn’t leave an impression on me.

It is real! It’s not available to download or buy unfortunately at the moment. The screening I went to was able to attain a leaked copy of the Directors Cut. Hopefully it will make its way online for everyone to see.

My favorite batman was always ben affleck ,because he had the size ,bulk and intimidation and everything batman 🦇 was in the 90's animation ,also batman forever was ok ,and it had it's moments now with batman and Robin I did not like at all ,because it felt rushed and the nipples on the suit looked weird .

That’s the toughest part of this movie to get over. Tommy Lee Jones who is a great dramatic actor could have balanced Jim Carey’s over the top role with a serious Two Face.

No, this is nothing new and Snyder isn't the first to have a different cut of a film. Director's Cut has been around for decades.
Doesn't really improve this campy forgettable movie but it at least it fleshes it out a bit more and STILL superior to 1997 Batman and Robin

Even as a teenager in 1995 I didn't like this movie. I tried watching it a few weeks ago on a streaming service and it was so godawful I turned it off. With that said this is a masterpiece to the utter trash that is Batman & Robin.
I actually enjoy Forever in its own way. But we can definitely agree that next to Batman and Robin in looks like Citizen Kane 😄
I agree. I saw this twice in the cinemas in 1995 but have just never enjoyed it in any level.
