    As a motorhomer of 5 years was very interested in this - right up to the point I found out it had a small fresh water tank….for my purposes a motorhome is about freedom which means not constantly running out of water.

    Too many compromises that would really, really irritate after a while.
    Those cupboards above the bed headboard area aren’t a good idea if you like to sit up and read etc. The silly table… well don’t get me started on that one.
    But the real Achilles heal is the water storage… 87 litres of fresh - I’d have to re-fill every day 😢
    The microwave (clearly an afterthought) is, without doubt, at a dangerous height.
    Finally though, adding a visible steel bar to brace the door to prevent ‘warping’ and then to have the temerity to sell it as a feature 😅
    No, not for me!

    • @MotorhomeCampervan
      @MotorhomeCampervan  Рік тому +1

    You do an excellent review of the unit as always. I do have a suggestion: When you are reviewing the toilet/shower areas of the unit, please have the camera person show the toilet/shower access at a distance so that the viewer can see where the doors are in the floor. We cannot tell if the access is from the hall or the bedroom. Perhaps the company can provide a floor plan that you could show us at the beginning of the review. I really enjoy the fact that when you do a review, you point out both positive and negative aspects of the unit.

    For the Coachman 545, the large fixed rear bed, and electric front bed is perfect for my family. The fixed living quarters door entry (instead of an electric step) does seem very low. Would have preferred an electric step. Could you get three off-road bicycles in the garage, do you think? For water, I can't see the difficulty in carrying water cooler size containers onboard. What is the function of the roof rails? Is it possible to stow gear on top of the van? I like all the controls being in one over door controller. Were the swivel seats plastic upholstered? Some large RVs have leather. What was your experience of the Coachman 545 driving it on roads. Would it frighten you driving on UK B roads? Also, could you bottom the rear end driving off a high camber road? Would it be easy to put the Mercedes auto transmission into reverse from drive while driving, using the up/down stalk? I have watched quite a few MMM videos now, and they are very high standard. Well done and thanks. I do agree with others that the jingles are distracting (not so much on the Coachman review, but others).

    • @MotorhomeCampervan
      @MotorhomeCampervan  2 роки тому

      I think you'd have to take a look for yourself regarding three bikes in the garage - I'm no great cyclist myself! Maybe Coachman could advise?
      Roof rails look cosmetic to me.
      Cab seats are leather.
      The Travel Master is wider than most rivals, so it depends how confident/experienced you are driving large vehicles and where you plan to go.
      I wouldn't worry about rear overhang or going into reverse.

    reminds me of the first time Boeing introduced us to the 747 Jumbo, with the hump on the front. She's a beautiful looking vehicle. Would you recommend this as a home if I were to sell my home and purchase this for myself and the dogs to travel around the UK in my retirement. It does look like this would do the trick.

    • @MotorhomeCampervan
      @MotorhomeCampervan  2 роки тому +1

      Always hard to recommend selling a home - won't you want to get back on the property ladder at same point? But this would make a fine vehicle for long-term touring - just remember the extra width and small water tanks compared with some rivals.

    It’s near perfect but I would like to have:- end supports on the sofa so you can lean against and put feet up, a 3 burner hob so you can get a larger pan/frying pan on the ring, a worktop lid to the hob so more workspace (like Bailey’s). Top marks for the bigger bed, but how annoying that there are overhead cupboards so you can’t sit up in bed🤨. Hi Peter, great, comprehensive review. I have a Hymer B544. What do you think as a comparison? I personally would love stabilisers as I do a lot of wild camping. Our current MH is nearly 10 years old and we really want to update it but haven't found anything quite as good, for our needs, so far. We love lots of space for sitting around by day and not all that bothered about having a large bedroom.

      Your B544 will be hard to replace as that type of layout in an A-class seems to have fallen out of fashion. I can only think of Roller Team, Mobilvetta and Pilote that do mainstream sub-7m A-classes without a fixed bed. If you can stretch to it, how about a Frankia I 640 SD?

      They sold quite a few at the NEC, but it looks like new orders will be at £122,000. Chassis and component prices are rising all the time, so I'm not that surprised. I expect you'd spend nearer £150k if you bought German, by the time you'd added all the extras. Whatever you choose ask if it's price protected!

    Every, single, camper, the same, never,never ever,ever any flopping space to prepare a meal in the kitchen! Three burners though, because everyone needs three pans to cook a meal when camping, right?! What are you’ all blind to this fact. It really gets tiring. All campers have become massively overpriced and it’s like the manufacturers never contemplate what is actually needed just how can we make as much money from the customer as possible. It’s a lousy market.
    The same campervans pre- COVID, 20 plus thousand less expensive, un-believe-able. Where vans were consistently around 60 grand, campers were around 80. Now vans moved up to old campervan prices and the campervans are well north of 100, thousand for the same product!!! How dealers can talk about the price of campers without laughing out loud is truly amazing!

    Hi, I’ve just stumbled across your channel, nd as an ex lorry, bus and coach driver I have now towed a caravan for some years. We are now looking for a Motorhome for less hassle with hooking up and be able to wild camp on the odd occasion. Imagine my surprise in finding that I can only drive a Motorhome up to 3.5 ton which limits my choice as I’m 70+ yet I can drive truck or MPV with 28feet of caravan hanging of the back. How does that make sense? Do I have to take a medical and another test to be able to drive something bigger? If you could shed some light on this question for me it would be much appreciated. Many thanks in advance 👍

    Whilst you say that this is quiet while driving, when manufacturers are expecting you to pay over £100k for a vehicle, why can’t they do simple things like line drawers and cupboards so that utensils etc don’t rattle around when driving. Also, whilst a reversing camera is a must, surely at that price all round ‘birdseye’ view cameras shouldn’t be beyond them. Most higher range cars will come with them and they would make manoeuvring a MH so much easier and safer..

      Look at the construction of a motorhome and not just its fittings but all the stuff that owners then add and it's no wonder that rattles can be a problem. Just imagine if you took your house down a bumpy British B road!

    I would REALLY love to say it's AMAZING,however 87 litres of fresh water is sh*t for travel thing.
    It should have...300 minimum,otherwise family or 3 or especially 4 could be out of water in a few days at most.
    300 minimum,even if water tanks must be on 2 or 3 places around.
    For 1 person it's probably sufficient for 10 days or so
    Whoever takes it,would need to learn to NOT shower every day and to NOT flush the water each and every time after they pee,but only after 2 or 3 times,but certaily minimum 1x per day.
    In such a way 87 litres lasting can be increased DRAMATICALY.

    • @MotorhomeCampervan
      @MotorhomeCampervan  Рік тому

      Try finding a motorhome of this size/price with a 300-litre fresh water tank - you won't! 100 litres is normal, so 87 is a bit disappointing, but 200 litres is really exceptional.
      On the road you have to learn not to waste water. You can shower in 10 litres and flushing the loo uses next to nothing. In any case, many will also use campsite facilities.

    My Ford Bailey 75-4 does all what this motor home does have , except mine has “proper” safety additional 2 persons travel seats, it has a electric table that extends to accommodate 8 people. It has a permanent lounge and D room BUT when you want a bed or 2 I have 2 double beds that come down from the ceiling fantastic best of both worlds. It has a outside BBQ, and shower, a Wi Fi router, video recording front/rear whilst driving and all in £80k only difference not a Mercedes not a tag 🤷‍♂️ but it is in my view much better

    The MotorHome was definitely not for me in so many ways. You can’t have the withe inside the van without the outside, that’s the big worry. UK roads are not made for that type of vehicle. Can you see yourself going to Scotland or Cornwall in that ? The price for such a tiny kitchen main bed you cannot sit up in, Windows you cannot open in a forest without bugs flying in, door step will be wrecked on the first steep left bend you come across. It is way to low. I have the Auto Trail scout, I ripped my omnistep off going up and turning and my step is much higher from the ground than that is. There is much more I could go on about but yeah I know someone will buy it but in Europe it’s not a good MotorHome to have not even at £80,000. It’s just a copy of the American Canadian RV.S. But thanks for sharing, would of loved to see the roof. Ray K UK YNWA.

      Maybe not for you, but surely a great vehicle for a big tour of Europe? All the windows have flyscreens, so I don't understand the comment about bugs. As a motorhome reviewer of 40 years' experience, let me assure you that there is a great deal that's really, really good here and, sadly, £80k is the price of something much, much more basic from the main UK brands these days. Even at £108k, this is very good value.

    Really impressed with the available space and quality build, but extremely disappointed on how poorly thought out the use of the space is. Tiny water tank, ridiculous microwave position, dining table is a joke, not self sufficient on power. At £108k I expected far more than it being spacious inside. The designers should take a look at what van lifers are fitting into 3.5t Mercedes sprinters! Things like 45 gallon water tanks. Better use of space, self sufficiency power. Far better thought out space use. It's a shame really because with that kind of space and carrying capacity I would call this product a fail Compared to whats on the market.

      With a 45 gallon water tank (204 litres) that would erode your payload, unless you travel with it empty. A 200-litre tank in a 3.5t Sprinter is a non-starter if you want to travel legally.
