you're totally right at the point that mcleodgaming should spread content between their updates, i mean yeah like 6 characters to play with is gorgeous only to think about it and it def was but it would have the same impact if they only have spread it imo, even to us, the fans and labbers to try more a character and then nobody plays him later like now with a lot of characters. Also ik you mentioned fraymakers but is important to know that some rlly important faces from the mcleodgaming team have been working p hard on finishing early access for fraymakers, which means less ppl to work with and an increase of time of some tasks like finishing a character (ddd :3) or just fixing an sprite. "Number two" updates (1.2, 1.2.2 and probably 1.3.2) seem to be the ones with the greatest amount of content for some reason. I hope this becomes some kind of motif and the update gets released on month 2 aka February
this mimics Netfelix's vs. HBO Max thing. It gets brought up that while Russian Doll had the most hype out of the two, Sucession had a more sustained and drawn out audience. Russian Doll dropped all at once while Sucession dropped part by part. Albeit, it may be due the smaller team, since at least a good chuck went to work on Fraymakers. It seems that modding and a small tourament scene is tiding things in community (take with a pinch of salt since i barely am in this) for the moment, thought hype was felt at the Meta Knight resprite. I think the update will be in Augest or around the time of Super Smash Con, since they've been there multiple times.
SSF2 had a monthly update thing during the 1.3 updates but have strayed from that. I think they should return to that. "Be more like HBO Max in that sense."
Honestly the game doesn't need balance changes, the lack of patch notes will help develop the meta to a deeper extent kind of like how melee is really deep right now. I think the meta has a healthy amount of character representation.

From me a casual player's perspective: I love this game but the matchmaking is terrible. I'm not asking for rollback, but I am asking for a more reliable way to find players with close ping.
@@TwinbeeMint oh dont try to be a mr wise guy, you know exactly what im talking about. The location tags are way too vague for finding a room, and if you make one yourself you have no way of stopping someone with 500+ ping from joining it
This just.... sounds like complaining tbh lol idk man, I'm used to games not updating and letting big updates happen and surprise me. Just find other things to do while you wait, the updates WILL happen at the end of the day. This type of content just stresses out the devs and not everyone can be satisfied on each update. Just play the game and love it for what it is at face value and let the updates surprise you, stop with the expectations, it just stresses everyone out.
Would definitely love it if McLeod released balance patches every 4 months or so - small shakeups help keep the community alive
