What a Great Player...🎵❤️❤️🎶🙏 I have always loved the concept of mesa boogie since the beginning...! ( I am a 68 year old Player.. ) but it has always been the price of these amplifiers that has kept me from purchasing one even a used one....👀 so I just have to suffer through life with my 1971 Twin ......🎵🎸🎶
This is an excellent demo. I went with the 10" because of shaving 10 lbs. from the weight and the 10" speaker adding a bit of tightness to the bottom end. Also, the cabinet is slightly smaller than the 12", but both cabinets share the same depth, making the 10" a little more firm but not sacrificing presence and overall acoustics. I'm really impressed with this amp and recommend the 10/12 or the 40-watt model to anyone on the fence.
@@PandaSharpener Hi. Sorry for the late reply. Yes, the 10 has a tight bottom, and this isn't your daddy's alnico, and it holds together well, even when pushed. The depth of the cabinet preserves the low end. Rivera does this with their Chubster amp, allowing a relatively compact amp to retain depth and presence while still being portable.
every time i want to dial the reverb on my mesa lonestar amp on stage i have to kneel behind the amp with a flashlight. all mesa labeled tubes are aCtually made at the shuguang factory in C H I N A ! ALL MESA AMPS ARE PCB.
Great playing, but way too much talking. When I scroll through the video at different points trying to land on different tones, I just land on talking. We can look the specs up in 10 seconds, that's no mystery.
@@songboy40 I definately could have wordered it better. It should have been more a suggestion. So that was childish. But I'm not sure how you think it's pointless to have a sound demo have less info that can be looked up in mere seconds. Or less idle chatter. Some people like this style so it's more a matter of preference, I'll give you that
Honestly, I prefer cleans from this vs. traditional blackface cleans. The added warmth is more pleasing to my ear and the clean tones I would be chasing.
A most refreshing demo. Thanks for the add of bass & drums.
James is such an amazing player. LOVE his clean tones and playing.
Great demo👍
The amps have a good strong bark on overdrive, and also beautiful cleans. Demo was perfect. Thankyou!
Tone wise these California Tweeds is a must have in your arsenal. Love these Clean and pure.

I understand. On my 2nd Twin ( 82 model ) since 1965.
These amps sound great, Mesa boogie got me salivating.
ABOUT TIME!!!I was praying Mesa would make a smaller version of the California from the day they introduced the original!
Me too
Leaving that last part in…..keeping it real. Enjoyed the demo and the playing!!!
I like your Demos Jim. If I want to hear how a certain piece of gear sounds your one of my "go to" on UA-cam. Thanks.
Wow! Phenomenal playing
I was literally just looking for a demo of the 20 watt ones.
Boogie Authentic. 😏
The 12 inch model with a Neo-Creamback would be a killer grab and go 👍
Turn the amp down, we cant quite hear the drums
How can you have a silent stage with a loud drummer. It’s irritating

do you find that the 1x10 has enough low end?

Can really hear how the 10” matches up with Humbuckers. Great amps! Not crazy expensive? I’m already fully stacked in this kind of sound, though.
HI, thank for the good review , question > Mesa/Boogie Mark Five or Mesa/Boogie California Tweed 2:20 for santana tone ? or should i say closer ?
I have seen a few demos of this amp and the dirty channel just seems to be muddy sounding, guess I'm spoiled by my FM9.
Sounds like a fender pro jr on dope
I’m looking for a small combo that can do fender to Marshall I think I just found it
Smokin those tweeds haha
Is Jim Graff “Gear Man Dude”??????
I think so!
I thought it would have been cheaper...😅
I thought it would have come in a darker shade of tweed.
Super! Great sound! Interesting video 🤝

Sounds amazing. Didn’t seem to be very loud or gig able. A tweed deluxe has more volume I think. Even clean
Wrong! 57 deluxe SUCKS
Absolutely amazing how people think they can determine this from a UA-cam video.
@@adamricard9410tried one.
COULDNT you get a slightly LESS rattley.tone for Memphis??
A little depth and sweetness?.

This drives me nuts. The markers should be on the playing. We don’t want to hear the talk 😂
This is the most childish and pointless complaint, ever. Nice job. No, really.

Sounds like you're afraid to hit the strings hard. Play that amp.dont treat it like a baby.
So, you have no idea what’s going on. That’s ok.
@songboy40 That's right, you're just a boy, song boy that explains it. You're a long way from becoming a man, boy.
Great sounding amps! Covers a lot tone territory! Great demo as well
2000. To 3000 for a amp is to much sounds good..
Why no strat on tweed amp?

would have helped in if you sub screened the settings so we could easily see what you changed. Great walkthrough though. Thanks. 👊🏼
Very good demo. Thank You... 👍👍 🎸🎶 🇺🇸.
I’m telling ya Jim is “Gear Man Dude”!!!!
How does this compare to a toneking amp?
completely different feel and sound
