I owned a Z3 2.8i, a Z3 M Roadster, a Z4 2.5i , a 2008 Z4 M Roadster and I just acquired a 2011 sDrive35iS. Which car was the most fun to drive? The Z4 2.5i. Which was easiest to own and maintain? The Z4 2.5i . I’m seriously thinking about reacquiring another Z4 2.5i with low miles and seats in good condition. My 35iS is a great freeway car. You can jump to 80mph to 120 at the drop of a hat in Sport Mode “BANG!” Go the Turbos.
I have an 09 Z4 N54 and to be real with you, the Z4 N54 platform is a lot more solid than the other N54s. Z4 owners are just lucky in that aspect lol. Then again, it's a lot harder and a lot more expensive to modify/replace components. It's a win/lose.
@@code2604 No, not at all. MHD is your best friend when it comes to tuning the n54 with stock twins. Costs $75 for the wireless OBD bluetooth device and $150 for all the maps and features. You can even use it if you want to go single turbo to make more power, which I did. Currently at 700whp on the stock block and still running strong.
I just got a 2009 Z4 with that N54 engine a few months ago for $15k. It blows my mind that these cars are so cheap and underappreciated. I absolutely love mine and wouldn't want to drive anything else.
I am a E89 35i owner in UK, love the mod headlights. We have a community over here, car is less rare. I am running 400BHP at wheels with 410 Lb/Ft. Of course we have really driveable twisty roads everywhere in Europe so you can really enjoy it..
Just bought an Alpine white/Magma red interior, 2022 z4 M40i. Man what a beast. 0-60 3.5 seconds. The previous models were what got my interest many years ago.
This thing is insanely beautiful. I just got a Z3 a month ago so I didnt even know these Z4s were around until I bought the Z3 and started doing research on it. Im loving my Z3 and mods are definitely coming. This Z4 is an inspiration even 3yrs later 🔥🔥🔥💪💪💪

I have a 2013 z4 28i M sport model manual transmission in deep sea blue metallic and its the best! I get looks from everyone! All I did was just lower it and have a jb4 tune, with catless downpipe and it's fast as hell for a 4 banger turbo

Unique and tasteful build, Hector, it's always fun to see uncommon cars that are heavily modified. As a car guy, I believe our cars should showcase who we are - we should literally be driving our personalities. QQ on the dashboard - does the main display fold down, into the dash? It looks like it might be on a hinge. Is this an M car? Thanks for bringing us another solid video and great ride and owner, Jon. I can't wait to see some of these cars on the streets of CLT!
Thank you so much for the kind words, I am humbled. To answer your question the Main Display does fold down either when the car is off or I can manually fold the display by using the control module. BMW stayed away from building an M version of the E89 series. They claimed cost was a big reason. However, BMW did provide an M package for the E89. My car has the M package plus all the other mods you saw on the video. Hope this helps. Again, thank you for the compliments.

E86 did not come with a soft top. It's a hardtop coupe. It's the original E85 Z4 roadster which was designed under Chris Bangle that had a soft top. That was the real bomb!
7:16....."That hood, you cut into that hood"......Hector: "Yeah, I don't want to talk about it!" lol! I hear ya, the cost of that hood is like giving up your first born! Kidding aside, with a turbo, that's the best thing to do to release all that under hood heat. Nice job, I'm re-building one now. WOW! had to edit...... My 1/2 brothers name is Montalvo.

Gorgeous car. Even in Europe, you don't see many of these rolling around. Here in the UK, literally half the car's on the road are German and ironically we buy the most convertibles in Europe, but you won't see many Z4s'.
@@raymondchen6720 It is a folding hardtop. I have the same car. The hydraulic pipes in the roof need to bend each time the roof is put down. So eventually they will break. It's a really bad design by BMW. It may be one of the reasons they went back to a simple soft top on the latest Z4.

I’m not interested in pre loading gears while I’m on my way to Target. Perhaps I’m in the 11th grade. My vocabulary consists of ; “Lamborghini Ferrari “ and “Hella Sic Dawg” while flashing phony gang signs. And my only 3 goals in life are to : paint “Rims” black, tint all windows and straight pipe everything !
@@youfuckmywife6719 The DCT comes with launch control, the MHD tuning chip allows for anti-lag as well. The DCT is literally a manual transmission without the clutch pedal but with 7 gears for better gear and power ratio over the manual 6. Besides, I NEVER use the auto gear shifting, I'm always in manual mode and shift with my shifter (not a fan of paddle shifting). The downshifts in manual mode rev match as well. So every single one of your questions/statements were X'd out.

Favorite car I've ever seen on here. I have absolutely never seen a Z4 modded, let alone seen a Z4 in months.
Looks awesome! It was the E85 was a softop and the new G29 is also a softop. The E86 was a coupe.
