I see that this video is a few years old, but I couldn't help but notice the way you have the ignition cut off switches guarded. the purpose of the red guarded switch is to protect the switch from accidentally being switched OFF. that means the normal engine on configuration would be both switches up and the red guards down to protect the switches from being accidentally bumped to off. It looked to me that you have positioned the red switch guards so that putting the guards down would shut off the ignition.
Any tips for how best to get in an X-air? I flew G-BYCL yesterday (I think it's the original UK prototype) it wasn't pretty. Is it left foot in (hug the a-pillar)?
G'day Pete , Just wondering if you had any idea how hard it is to take the wings off for transport? Looking at buying one in Queensland and I live in Werribee Victoria. As I don't have a lot of time up, I'm not real keen into trying to fly it down. Cheers mate
Hi Dexter, taking the wings off would be a 2 person job unless you made a cradle to hold the wing tip while you un bolted the leading and trailing wing spars, at a guess it would take about 15min per side to do... first thing would be to take off the center velcro covers then disconnect the ailerons cables and un do the straps that pull the wings together, after that the two lower wing strut bolts (next to the seat) then have someone hold the wing tips up while you remove the two front and rear wing spar bolts then you can remove the with with the struts still in place.... depending on the room on your trailer you would decide to take the struts off not... sorry for the slow reply.... did you end up getting the plane? cheers Pete
@@3dheli No problem mate.. No I missed out on it, but really had my heart set on it. I'm guessing if I wait one will come up again. Have Had a share in a xair Hanuman many years ago, but only had a few flights before the jabiru motor decided to pack it in after only 200hrs. So was looking at going a lone on a more affordable standard model. Really appreciate your reply, as I'm not giving up on finding one.
Hi Peter, I'm interested in the X-Air Standard model. However, I'm in the U.S. Is there any information for distributors I can contact here locally. If not, do you have insight where I could obtain more cost information.
Hey Ryan, Michael Coats of X-Air Australia is where I purchased my Aircraft kit from, I know he is also the US dealer for Pipistrel Aircraft so maybe he could also get you an X-Air kit too? worth asking him if your wanting one.... Pete

The rudder and brake mods look very precise. I love the X-air.
