I really wish more of our compatriots could see it that way too. Not only China but Asia, this is an extremely important moment for Australia. Martin Jacques highlighted this in his lecture at Melbourne University, Australia will come to a cross roads where some serious decisions will have to be made.
Sadly he was spouting propaganda for naive westerners that want to believe the Chinese are less nationalistic/expansionist than they actually are. Especially "We don't go out to conquer" was a typical lie whether deliberate or not. All organisms/systems expand and so does China. E.g. they conquered Tibet only in 1953, reconquered Xinjiang in the 1870s and even Taiwan was only conquered by the Han Chinese three centuries ago. They decimated virtually all indigenous people and are now 99% of the island population.
I really appreciate Nelson Wong's views and the civilization of China and other old civilizations. Americans often misunderstand the behavior that has evolved with wisdom.
This version of China does not hold the views of pre Mao China. They use an imaginary United history to legitimise their current state. Don't forget that most of the state in the world are older than America. That doesn't have any intrinsic value.
It occurs to me that the Policy of China towards Taiwan is one of not so much a wish to dominate or control the political structure of the government, but of keeping the Chinese in both places from being used against each other by outside forces. "We don't want to dictate to you but we will not have you turned against your own people for the benefit of foreign interests." That's a perspective I can fully appreciate!
China should free Hawaii / we stole it for privately owned companies to freely extract the resources that they didn’t want to pay for (we figured take it all as a state)
Yes ! You hit the nail on the head ..very well put 👍. That’s the true sentiment of China but the geopolitical class in West wants to obfuscate the simple truth that Taiwan has always been part of China just to use it as a thorn to manufacture vulnerable dissensions. This will only generate Bad Karma for them.
'Globalist one-world-gov collectivists' do not like 'separativist individuated' consciousness. Why? Any consciousness leading to 'individual choice' is a threat to top-down external unifying power structures. The people of the world are evolving to 'individuation' and self-government, self- unification, self-integration. Across the world today there is increasing distrust in external government authority. There's no recoil from this distrust in external authority, and the move to individuation. It takes thousands of years, a lot of war and struggle, but will be accomplished. Even the smallest weakest person feels deep-down that it is wrong to be pushed about by temporary external powerful rulers. Since the birth of Christ, this is now in the consciousness of the people of the world, and is gaining strength and span. An island people are more individuated than a continental people, they feel and are more attuned to self-rule, both as a group and as a person. The origin of the scattering of language in Babylon, the Babel Tower, is God's way to ensure differences and ultimately individuation. Suppression and elimination of the individual impulse is the desire of all unintelligent rulers.
The Chinese on both sides of the Taiwan Strait have no desire to fight; they want to trade with each other, make money, and live a comfortable life. Americans believing in "defending TW" are clueless and foolish. They are duped by the American war profiteers.

But in spite of evident excesses and government-enabled accumulation of riches (mostly by money printing - making people near govnmt rich while dumping inflationary problems and the collapse of economic bubbles onto the populace - and "laws made to order"), this is not actually true. Who sees "accumulation of wealth" as the be all and end all in life? And if there are some people who indeed do, they will be in China too and will have the same tools to achieve their goals.

Alexander is 1000% right: the Chinese must start to take responsibility in explaining China better to the rest of the world. Chinese academics and scholars must seriously consider taking up this responsibility.
Utter nonsense. That's a typical Western gaze and outlook. If we here in the so called "Global South" can learn European languages, their history, their culture and their ways of thinking, it is beholden on the Westerners to do that same on their own accord. Anything else is just a colonial expectation.

There's no misunderstanding, please! People simply don't want to admit, even to acknowledge, the achievement of the Communist regime which is the most successful government in the history of civilization. The rise of China has not only brought Chinese people out of poverty, but also those in countries including Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, even countries in Africa and South America.
While China has lifted millions out of poverty, the West is pricing millions of young couples out of housing. One thinks about the people, the other about stakeholder profits.
China rose due to education, intelligent governance and hard work. The West rose through violent colonial wars and exploitation. We could all win-win by friendship and cooperation with China.
You forget how many children are working in factories and being abused, and this is from personal experience, don't prise the beast I'd you don't know , and they are who th y are 🕹️
Yes, much of the Western world's rise to power was historically shaped by violence and colonialism. This process unfolded over several centuries and involved the following key factors: 1. Colonial Expansion: Western nations, particularly during the Age of Exploration (15th-19th centuries), colonized vast territories in Africa, Asia, the Americas, and Oceania. This expansion was often achieved through military conquest, forced treaties, and alliances with local elites. 2. Economic Exploitation: Colonized regions were exploited for their resources, including precious metals, agricultural products, and labor. The transatlantic slave trade, for example, forcibly transported millions of Africans to work on plantations, fueling the wealth of colonial powers like Britain, France, Spain, and Portugal. 3. Military Power: Advances in weaponry and naval technology gave Western nations significant military advantages over many indigenous populations. These technologies were used to suppress resistance and maintain control over colonies. 4. Cultural and Religious Justifications: Many Western powers justified colonialism through ideologies such as the "civilizing mission" or manifest destiny, portraying themselves as bringing progress, Christianity, and modernity to "uncivilized" peoples. 5. Industrialization: The wealth extracted from colonies fueled industrialization in Europe and North America, further consolidating their economic and technological dominance. This created a feedback loop where industrialized nations could produce advanced weaponry and infrastructure to maintain global control. 6. Violence and Resistance: Colonialism was frequently maintained through brutal violence, including massacres, forced labor, and punitive expeditions. Indigenous resistance was often met with harsh suppression. While not the only factor in the rise of Western power (scientific innovation, governance systems, and trade networks also played roles), colonialism and violence were central to shaping the global dominance of Western nations. These histories continue to have lasting impacts on global inequalities and international relations. @peterc3262
@genovaiteragelyte9730 Child labor in China, while illegal, has been reported in certain industries, especially in rural or less-regulated regions. However, it is not widespread or officially condoned by the government. Here are key points regarding the situation: Legal Protections Child Labor Laws: China has strict laws prohibiting the employment of children under the age of 16. The Labor Law of the People's Republic of China explicitly forbids child labor. Enforcement Challenges: Despite these laws, enforcement can be inconsistent, particularly in remote areas or industries with less oversight. Instances of Child Labor Unregulated Industries: Reports of child labor often surface in smaller factories, family-owned businesses, or the informal economy, particularly in sectors like textiles, electronics, and small-scale manufacturing. Rural-to-Urban Migration: Some children from poor rural families may work in factories to support their households, often using forged documents to bypass legal restrictions. Abuse and Exploitation: While most workplaces operate within the law, there have been cases of abuse, long hours, and unsafe working conditions for children working illegally. Government Efforts The Chinese government has taken measures to combat child labor, including regular inspections and penalties for businesses that violate labor laws. Campaigns have been launched to improve school enrollment and access to education, particularly in rural areas, as education is a key factor in reducing child labor. Reality on the Ground Reports from organizations like Human Rights Watch and other advocacy groups suggest that while the issue exists, the majority of Chinese children are in school rather than factories. Most instances of child labor are linked to poverty and lack of access to education, rather than systematic exploitation. In summary, while child labor and abuse are not widespread or institutionalized in China, they do exist in some sectors. Efforts to eliminate these practices are ongoing, but challenges remain in fully eradicating them, especially in under-regulated areas.
This is a touching good stream. If our leaders had same world view as Nelson and Alexander, we had no problems. Healthy respect. Unfortunately we are not that lucky. Love and respect to both of you.
China has smaller GDP than us, but i suspect it has a lot to do with how it's calculated. We care for GDP and not for NDP, because it will suddenly make our economy look bad. And we definitely don't care to measure success in PPP
GDP reference is just for making people stupid. China spends ridiculous amount of money of improvement every social aspect of the life. in US with all these fake amounts, elite has more money that many countries made together and they spent it on wars. Once you eliminate money of billioners and millioners and money sent to wars, I expect, all of it will be looking very different… There is a reason why USA doesn’t have hi speed railways…
The Neocon capture of US foreign policy began in the 1970’s under Carter and was birthed by the US defeat in Vietnam. The loss of the Vietnam War was a huge humiliation for America, causing a major upheaval within policy elites. Later the fall of the Soviet Union gave the Neocons their next massive boost. Paul Wolfowitz laid out the Wolfowitz Doctrine in 1992, an extremely aggressive & harsh doctrine for US hegemony - he said the USA was now in a position that had never happened before in world history, it was the first supreme world power - he dictated that all US wars should be proxy wars whenever possible - the collapse & destruction of Russia was essential - the total division & dominance of Europe was essential - military aggression was to solve all political problems - negotiation must always be denied - the defense of Democracy & Humanitarian wars were the Neocons “secret weapon” sanitizing millions of deaths. The Doctrine was supposed to be a secret document but was leaked to the NYT a few months after writing. With the Soviet Union gone, the Neocons knew they had to find another enemy fast - terrorism, Russia, China, whatever. To this day, Neocon doctrine is US foreign policy, with forever war the essential component. Neoliberal economics & Neocon foreign policy fit together perfectly, hand in glove.
After the events of the 1900s this is a totally logical position for the US to take. Don't act like it's so uniquely immoral as if the USSR, Imperial Japan etc wouldn't have done it. Britain literally did do that for 100 years.
Why would people want to be like the US??? not me... every Country should be proud of what we are, not wanting to be like other. That makes us different and unique.
China worked with their young and taught discipline and morals at a very young age. Values deep rooted What a Beautiful achievement for Other Countries to learn how to honor their elders and leaders
🇨🇳 Spot on. 🎯 It is in Chiness people's DNA wherever they are... in China's culture and values that are embedded in Chinese education systems and family values 🇨🇳.
Mr Wong is the most eloquent of speakers and his depiction of the Chinese culture and character is most accurate and genuine. No question that at various times in contemporary China that the Chinese people and leaders looked to the west with both disdain and admiration. This is particularly true in the late 19th and early 20th century when China was brutally ravaged by western imperial and colonial powers, and when China was internally corrupt, divided and weak. Times have changed. Through several generations of hard work, ingenuity and belt-tightening, China has risen to be a nation with unparalleled capabilities and capacities once again. China’s vision of the world is fundamentally different from that of the west. China does not believe in domination, rather, it seeks cooperation, collaboration and peaceful co-existence. In the west, everything distills down to balance of power, domination and control. As such, the next conflict is always just around the corner. China needs to continue to stay humble, empathetic and generous. Thank you very much for the broadcast!

Yea and they lied about Russians using steroids and took all of them out of Olympics because they kept winning gymnastics and other competitions. That’s a big money maker for USA Olympics. They can’t go against Russia in a fair competition. They’d lose 80% of the time in almost every sport.
Indeed!
What an excellent discussion. If only the New World could be shaped by such insights.
Excellent frank and informative discussion, thank you Gentlemen.
Nelson is correct! Very clear & so well said! The West should listen to him! Sadly the West refused to listen!
What an interview, finally someone to speak openly.
Excellent interview/discussion
Brilliant stream… thank you 👍🏻
Thank you, gentlemen ❤️ You are the best
China's economic rise was already going strong, by taking on a more secure partnership with Russia, China's economic growth is stronger.
Thank you gentleman; very informative and interesting! 😊❤
欢迎来到未来
Excellent analytical presentation of what China is ❤
Alexander is 1000% right: the Chinese must start to take responsibility in explaining China better to the rest of the world.
The rest of the world need to take responsibility and learn about others, the global minority is NOT entitled to the world’s patience
That is really challenging ! Assuming willing students match with teachers . Like kindergarten or gr1?
@@ashok.vardhan.gWe have learned of the West as a result of subjugation and as a survival strategy, historically we have been more interested in each other than interested in the West, and even today, the West knowledge of us has not been created by us, for the most part - China can help change this for the benefit of all, surely that not colonial expectation.
What a western and ignorant way of looking at things, including by Alexander!
China has no responsibility to do that at all, as mr. Wong said, China has to look for China first and only, and rightfully so
It is the responsibility of anywhere else, especially of the west who likes meddling in others interests, to learn about China
Thank you gentlemen.
Brilliant guest
Love this talk guys!!! ❤🧡💛💚
I concur with you on this. China has invested enormously in VN, Laos, Cambodia, Indonesia & very soon Malaysia.
After they abandoned communism?
Interesting. Enlightening. Educational. Thank you.
Brilliant and very helpful conversation! go on, please! discover China 😀
thank you gents !
Jeeze, people of Greek, Norwegian, and Chinese descent speak perfect English.
If you learn an other language, then you will understand and speak your own language better.🤟🏛️🏺🀄️
Great interview!!!
Thank you. Great discussion.
We do in the uk need the BRI. We are not developed. Our infrastructure is 50 years out of date!
UK stopped china at Hinkley point, blocked HSR , Huawei and more! Total chinese stupidity!
China rose due to education, intelligent governance and hard work. The West rose through violent colonial wars and exploitation. We could all win-win by friendship and cooperation with China.
Nonsense.
You forget how many children are working in factories and being abused, and this is from personal experience, don't prise the beast I'd you don't know , and they are who th y are 🕹️
Here's 50 cents wumao 😂
Yes, much of the Western world's rise to power was historically shaped by violence and colonialism. This process unfolded over several centuries and involved the following key factors:
1. Colonial Expansion:
Western nations, particularly during the Age of Exploration (15th-19th centuries), colonized vast territories in Africa, Asia, the Americas, and Oceania. This expansion was often achieved through military conquest, forced treaties, and alliances with local elites.
2. Economic Exploitation:
Colonized regions were exploited for their resources, including precious metals, agricultural products, and labor. The transatlantic slave trade, for example, forcibly transported millions of Africans to work on plantations, fueling the wealth of colonial powers like Britain, France, Spain, and Portugal.
3. Military Power:
Advances in weaponry and naval technology gave Western nations significant military advantages over many indigenous populations. These technologies were used to suppress resistance and maintain control over colonies.
4. Cultural and Religious Justifications:
Many Western powers justified colonialism through ideologies such as the "civilizing mission" or manifest destiny, portraying themselves as bringing progress, Christianity, and modernity to "uncivilized" peoples.
5. Industrialization:
The wealth extracted from colonies fueled industrialization in Europe and North America, further consolidating their economic and technological dominance. This created a feedback loop where industrialized nations could produce advanced weaponry and infrastructure to maintain global control.
6. Violence and Resistance:
Colonialism was frequently maintained through brutal violence, including massacres, forced labor, and punitive expeditions.

@genovaiteragelyte9730 Child labor in China, while illegal, has been reported in certain industries, especially in rural or less-regulated regions. However, it is not widespread or officially condoned by the government. Here are key points regarding the situation:
Legal Protections
Child Labor Laws: China has strict laws prohibiting the employment of children under the age of 16. The Labor Law of the People's Republic of China explicitly forbids child labor.
Enforcement Challenges: Despite these laws, enforcement can be inconsistent, particularly in remote areas or industries with less oversight.
Instances of Child Labor
Unregulated Industries: Reports of child labor often surface in smaller factories, family-owned businesses, or the informal economy, particularly in sectors like textiles, electronics, and small-scale manufacturing.
Government Efforts
The Chinese government has taken measures to combat child labor, including regular inspections and penalties for businesses that violate labor laws.
Campaigns have been launched to improve school enrollment and access to education, particularly in rural areas, as education is a key factor in reducing child labor.
Reality on the Ground
Reports from organizations like Human Rights Watch and other advocacy groups suggest that while the issue exists, the majority of Chinese children are in school rather than factories.
Thank you Guys 👍🇮🇹🇬🇧
Totally agreed with Mr Wong.
Outstanding insights and perspective. Thank you, Mr. Wong!
This is a touching good stream. If our leaders had same world view as Nelson and Alexander, we had no problems. Healthy respect. Unfortunately we are not that lucky. Love and respect to both of you.
Fascinating conversation, thank you.
🙏thank you gentlemen🙏
This was a great podcast .
Valuable guest of a completely different league from the alphabet agency stooges. Thank you.
The books behind these men.
All dog-eared and roughly piled.
No decors. No mirages, No lies.
Well said ! And it seems that they always make the same mistake: They underestimate the cultural and civilisation factor in their opponents..
Great comments, nothing is changing in the US policy in the new administration.
@@walentystankiewicz8486 Trump sees war a losing proposition but every other dirty trick will continue.
After the events of the 1900s this is a totally logical position for the US to take. Don't act like it's so uniquely immoral as if the USSR, Imperial Japan etc wouldn't have done it. Britain literally did do that for 100 years.
Do you mean 1963?
The West could learn the lesson of preserving our Own cultures
Thank you ❤
That was outstanding!
Why would people want to be like the US??? not me... every Country should be proud
of what we are, not wanting to be like other. That makes us different and unique.
Alexander, pleeeease more Mr. Nelson Wong.
My compliments Duran:
That was quite an interesting interview.
❤❤❤Wow, another epic, far ranging discussion far away from the fog of propaganda of the main stream media. Bravo‼️🙏🌹🌹
China worked with their young and taught discipline and morals at a very young age. Values deep rooted
What a Beautiful achievement for Other Countries to learn how to honor their elders and leaders
Ive been to china. Its an amazing place! Waaaaay ahead of the US in infrastructure. 1.4 billion people hungering for wealth an prosperity.
Thanking you great guest Nelson wong
Excellent program gentlemen 👍💐☕️☕️☕️
Takk! Brilliant❤
🇨🇳 Spot on. 🎯 It is in Chiness people's DNA wherever they are... in China's culture and values that are embedded in Chinese education systems and family values 🇨🇳.
Excellent discussion. I have to admit I’m an American that is very ignorant on Chinese issues.
Fantastic
The USA meddling when Taiwan and the Mainland was really beginning to soften, and a peaceful reunification seemed to be only a question of time.
Well done everyone. Nelson Wong is very clear and persuasive.
I’ll be following him on Twitter if he’s there
