    hello, his video came out well I have to redo a steering wheel insert on a car with a real brushed aluminum console!! on the other hand I would like to know what grain you used and if the background must absolutely be glossy black? Many thanks for this video 👍👍

      Boy, depends on what your steering wheel is made of.. Metallic work best on a black primer. The black does not need to be glossy. In this case, the plastic was black and I just went from there. grade of sand paper should not be too high. I think the brush did most of the heavy lifting here. (I would say, seal your job after ward. Don't use high gloss if you are going for the brushed aluminum look.

      @@YourGeekFix nfortunately i think it is the plastic element but the previous owner painted it glossy black so I already have the base with the difference that it is a paint and not mass dyed!! I think I need to start at 240 or even 320... For the varnish I'm going with a satin finish to have a natural finish a bit like the one you did!! I find your work very realistic !

      @@YourGeekFix Yea, kinda... It is long working project of making props for reenactment, that would look more realistic. I alredy used your video with Nuka Cola pistol for metals, but there is stil problem with wood handles. They simply looks too plastic...

      It's been a while, but I believe it was Krylon Premium Metallic Finish. However, most metalic or aluminum paints would work.

      I used Is aluminum metallic by Krylon, but any metallic paint should work

      It is an Acrylic Matte Spray Sealer.

      The paint is both paint and primer. Otherwise, use a flat black primer first. Then spray on the metallic paint.

      @@diegoguadalupi7836 You might want to look into Modern Masters bronze or copper effect paints. You can get some nice blue patina, especially from the bronze.

      The Orange block is a medium grit. You want enough to scratch, but few enough to not go too deep. Yellow is high, black is low.

    bro im literally painting over a brass zippo to make it look silver
    got it as a gift from my distant cousin, I just didn't really like how it looked I preferred the traditional brushed chrome design, so I took the design off of it by just twisting a knife under it now I have to paint it

    Suggestion: As it takes you a while to upload quality content why don’t you start a let’s play series so people have something to watch while we are waiting for the next quality upload

      Remember there must be a black layer underneath. I recomment a black primer if the item is not black.

      Your Geek Fix thank you so much i got all the products and turned out great on my monitor stand last question if you dont mind was there any lingering smell after doing this project for me there is a odor even after leaving it to dry for around 3-4 hours outside

      @@ButterScotchHD if you sprayed the protection on, it is probably that. Try a zeiss cloth with alcohol. Rub in same direction.
