It was Piper Laurie that played the Japanese businessman. Apparently she showed up in full disguise every day and the cast and crew were told that "he" was a famous Japanese actor. Worked on Kyle. I read somewhere that Peggy Lipton saw through it.
"What was the first role you auditioned for and got?" "Dune" "Was that like a small part" "It was the lead role" Would it kill Jim to do some research beforehand? I've never even watched Dune and I knew that.
Old school O&A fan, always rooting for Jim&Sam to do well, but It's a shame they're interviewing Kyle MacLachlan while not knowing much about his career. He's been hearing "Hey 'Blue Velvet' was cool" for like 30 years now, it's boring. And then Sam asked a super hack question about Kyle's short relationship with Lara Flynn Boyle in 1991. Eww. The new season/return of Twin Peaks was arguably the best acting of Kyle MacLachlan's career. And that's what he's there to promote, but Jim&Sam haven't seen it.
This is one reason why Ant's pop culture knowledge is sorely missed on the show. Cumia would have reeled it in when these guys fell short. I'm rooting for the 'AA' show, but I'm not sure how much longevity it will have considering Artie Lange's track record. The dream scenario would be to get Anthony on this show, but that's wishful thinking.
Glad I read this so now I don't have to waste twenty minutes of my life watching it. I liked Jim's last stand up special, he's excellent when he doesn't need to lead a show but listening to these bozo's interview other people is just yeeech. Jim only knows have to talk about one thing and that's himself and his own failings and perversions. He is culturally clueless and prepares next to nothing. Sam has one interest in life: wrestling. Outside of that he's ignorant and a bore. This show needs to die.
The two guys who aren't Jim and Sam are too insufferable. Can't watch this interview. Also, they should tone down the swearing and the vulgarity a bit - Kyle's not really like that.
I am a big fan of Twin Peaks and O&A (and Lynch and what is left of O&A), they did a good enough job with this interview. They just aren't very familiar with his career; who cares people?
At this rate they will be canceled. they don't know what they want the show to be, and can rarely get good rapport going with their guest outside of comedians.
Yeah. I was an unbelievably huge fan of the original show and was so looking forward to the revival that we actually threw a coffee & pie party for the premiere. So the group of die hard fans sat down. The revival started, and.... ........... ........................... ....remember that sinking feeling that crept up on you when you first saw The Phantom Menace in the theater? Exactly that.
Great guy. great actor. good to see him on the show. thanks
Kyle is the fucking man!
Only getting audio in the left side???
same
if u turn in a circle u get audio on left and right sides, jeanius or wat >
mines only on the right
that escalated quickly
Same here
16:36 starts talking about Showgirls
thank you
His episode of Tales from the Crypt was one of my favorites.
"How big of a part did you have in Dune?" That's a Chip question Jim. For shame...
I'm pretty sure Kyle decided for the rest of the interview to be on autopilot after that question.
Moronic to not even know the most basic stuff about someone you’re interviewing 🤦🏻♀️ These hosts suck.
ANTHONY!! You fucked up the audio! Worry about your job, not your bets
he was like, WHO put me in the room with THESE guys. don’t blame him…
Dougie.....Jones
HELLO-O-O

Somebody screwed up something with the audio somewhere
ugh, you have the one guy that i've been anticipating you guys to have on for years and you don't know jack shit about him or his work
a bit of cringe here. just a little bit. Luis J is unbearable.
"What was the first role you auditioned for and got?"
"Dune"
"Was that like a small part"
"It was the lead role"
Would it kill Jim to do some research beforehand? I've never even watched Dune and I knew that.
loooool, that was so embarrassing
Alfredo Guerra great .I think neither Robert de niro got his first aud with lead role
This guy is a real good actor and a nice guy
Alfredo Guerra ahaha this called figure of shit 😆
He was in Oliver stone's biopic The Doors playing ray manzarek i thought he was great in that role
Jimmy has his souvenir bobby fischer t-shirt :D

Blue Velvet is brilliant
I'm only 3 minutes in and I'm punching out. Thanks for the info

brutally accurate.
Very odd that Kyle didn't remember Piper Laurie's turn as Mr. Togumura in season 2... I guess a lot of us have wiped season 2 from memory.

"peckahs"
Too bad humanity hasn't figured out yet how to turn a left side only track into a mono track.

Kyle deserved a better career than the one Showgirls gave to him
These interviewers are so annoying & obnoxious. Kyle is a class act, on the other hand.
Gomez makes everything about himself. So cringy
Shame on Norton to never have seen Dune, I thought he was a movie buff
At this rate they will be canceled. they don't know what they want the show to be, and can rarely get good rapport going with their guest outside of comedians.
Twin Peaks was our favorite TV show in the 90s. This year's revival is absolutely embarrassing.
You're so much of a pleb it's past funny
Thank you for your observation.
"our"?

Sorry you didn't get 18 hours of nostalgic garbage.
