"OK Leo, there you are supposed to play a low E"
Leo: "Nope, I need both hands to play that, remake the song."
Leo: Nah, I'll just play that like 4 octaves higher in the stratosphere and not even bother with keys.
Btw, for saxes that just goes as a E, not a low E, but doesn’t matter
@@coopersmallwood6640 for saxes theirs a low, middle, high and so on Es. So on meaning altissimao
@@coopersmallwood6640 as a saxophone player, it depends on the average range of the song. if its high most of the time, id call it a low e, but if its low, id just call it an e
context matters!
When Leo's buying a new saxophone
Salesperson: what's your preferred range
Leo: yes
"The bell's too high, and you'll be moving during the recording"
"Idk, just tape the mic inside the bell or something like that"
JMG_99 its natural for someone to move around while playing an instrument I mean look at everybody
The sousaphone player in the roots on the tonight show (or whatever show they are on) just plays with a mic dropped down the bell.
Most people dont move while playing but sometimes they do I've personally only moved when playing certain songs and certain parts
I want to know what the others said when leo showed up in that outfit.
Rune "Leo, you're wearing any article of clothing at all today? That's impressive."
I love how everyone’s dressed super casual and playing real mellow, and Leo’s just there like he’s ready to go to an 80s rave disco
That sousa player is pretty good, he should have a song named after him
It looks like a normal band until you see a half nude Bari sax player with pink and blue hair and half a deer on him prancing gleefully around
I still liked this because it sounds awesome
@@fullrobin768 of course there is, the player who spent all of their money on the sax and cant even afford clothes
It’s normal then if you see any other kind of bari sax RUN THEY ARE IMPOSTERS
its like the weirder leo looks the better he gets
Know it's suppose to look "edgy" but this just looks stupid no matter how you look at it lol. Whatever though.
He is feeling the music and expressing it and you will only understand if you play the sax
1:38 I love Daro's expression when Leo P plays that low A for the billionth time in his career.
My first thought: Dear god why is Leo dressed like that
Thoughts after hearing him play: Y'know what man? You're so cool and you play that bari so well you can pull off anything.
they put so much faith into leo. I'd love to see the others solo every once and a while in a song. not to say I don't love listening to leo as I'm also a baritone sax player and he is a god and I'd just love to learn from him but I'd like to see what the others are capable of. that's just what I think.
I actually have but I want to see the rest them just let lose like leo does
yeah so only two people they show off? I want all of them to just cut lose and show what they can do. I mean there all masters of there interments. I mean wouldn't you want to see that?
I would love to see that, but it is not only Leo that they are showing off.
This video proves if you have a rock solid tuba player everything else comes together and the band and feed off that steady beat.
Hope Raphael is enjoying his new career in nursing. Hopefully he will come back to music over time or teach his skills to younger tuba players.
Man, even when Buyo has the song named after him he doesn't get enough credit. With Josh H always playing into the stratosphere all the time, Buyo's the only real low brass here.
Lucky Chops: OK Buyo, well give you a 15 second solo, and a main part in the song.
Leo p: Hold my Crack.
2:35 the one time Leo had to concentrate
He was in his bubble in that moment...crazy really crazy solo...
which is crazy, because it's just a scale pattern. Maybe Leo P has mastered everything on saxophone, but just like every other damn instrument... it's the scales that get the best of you if you don't focus
I love how every member has their own special mic and buyos is a regular mic with flex tape taped to his bell 🤣
that bari player is crazy! haha he's awesome!
he is amazing. I got the chance to see and meet him. amazing performer!
And then there's Leo, with his pink and blue hair, thick rimmed white glasses, fur coat and epic solos.
sounds great but he reminds me of McLoving from Superbad for some reason i can't put my finger on.
Gotta be honest, I really dislike him in this song. He just seemed douchey, show offy, and unnecessarily in your face. Would've been much better if he just toned it down and put the song above his image
Leo: walks in
everyone else: "I thought we agreed you'd wear the MOOSE pelt"
Leo: "I couldn't vibe in it"
When the bari sax player sounds like a rapper and an electric guitar. The trumpet sounded like a sax with how smooth the tone was. Gorgeous.
Half pink, half blue-dyed hair. A fur coat that only covers part of the torso. A happy trail. Gyrating. A bari sax solo. Random arm motions. I have never identified more with Leo. 😭🙌🏽 I was snapping so hard at the screen and there are tears in my eyes
Hah..... I forgot i posted here! Heh, sorry for any inconvenience i may have caused. It was not meant as a insult. Honestly i cant remember why i posted that, but i am sorry.
Go Raphael Buyo!!! That bass line 😍🔥
That may be perhaps the most unexpected sensual saxophone solo I've ever heard. Like....boy, I wasn't ready for that level of dirrrrrrrrrrrrt.
I adore the whole group, and the piece as a whole is wonderful, but since Leo takes up like half the damn song, it's hard not to comment on him xD
Waiting for Buyo to take a solo the whole song, like...
@@supergremlin2185 that's not true man. Although that may not have been a "solo," the band clearly composed the song for the bassline to be the main focus at that point. Otherwise they usually start out with Leo.
ik this is old. but trust me, the bassline is what haunts your dreams everyday
@@syahril2898 yeah, its so viral. This fucking line strongly stuck in my head for several years
Ill be totally honest. If I could meet the Bari saxophone I would. Because I am really close to where he play's and me as a Bari sax player am happy to see the way he is playing. I mean I love all low wind instruments but this guy is the god of Bari saxophone players. Nice work man, I love the tune
I too am a Bari Sax Player, I love all low instruments as well but, my main instrument is Trumpet, I have met Leo in the Subway, he's a kool dude.
Matthew Candelario pfttt listen to the band morphine all will be clear
Man I just love that fat note Leo ends his solo with. He makes me want to learn the Bari.
go to gym first. It requires more strength than usual compared to Alto or Tenor
Trust me when you play then you end with that low note like leo p it is very satisfying especially if you killed the solo or whatever your doing
@@Raven-jy4sv I believe it, I can feel the expression in that note. Still love this solo one of his best.
this is leading me down a youtube rabbit hole...and I like it
Do Birdland. The whole band and everyone listening will LOVE it.
Curse the Knife He died in a plane crash after a bird flew in the engine. JK Dangit. It has a lot of high notes.
+Kukri Josh (the trumpet player) used to play lead trumpet in a friend's band I know. He could easily do it.
"Leo, WHAT exactly are you rebelling against??"
"Uhh.... well, vision, primarily."
The solo that impregnates hundreds of women.
吹奏楽部でチューバしてますけど、上手い人のを聞くのって本当に勉強になる。
曲自体も素晴らしいし、日本でももっと流行ってほしい
Leo P in his fuckin element right here hahahaha
Yeah this guys is brilliant. I've never seen anyone play a baritone like that before
This has to be the hardest instrument of the brass band. It’s sure heaviest and this smallest guy in the group is murdering it. Respect
Please make one more song in which Buyo will take main role
Przemysław Gabrych i’m a year late but they’re not a brass band.
they have two saxophones
LightningSurg3 Gaming i- no they’re not. they’re MADE of brass but really it comes down to the mouthpiece. it’s a reeded instrument, making it woodwind.
that’s why you don’t see saxes in brass bands (and lucky chops isn’t a brass band)
Although saxophones are technically not brass instruments, due to the reed, brass bands can have saxophones in them. The saxophone was created to combine the power of the brass with the versatility of the woodwinds
It looks like we're getting these "last name songs" in alphabetical order. First Behroozi, now Buyo. Next is Congleton, then Gawel, then Holcomb, and to sum it all up, Pellegrino.
Buyo actually came out before behroozi. They just removed it from their website and didnt have the recording on UA-cam when they shared behroozi
Actually I don't think we're gonna have a trumpet and a trombone solo because they were never played ever. But Leo DARO the drummer and buyo did be played at shows
I love the representation of various types of band geek in this ensemble. They're amazing.
I like how I used to watch this back in 5th grade and never questioned Leo's attire lol.
Leo isn't exactly what you would call discreet, and don't we all just love that
Holy fuck these guys are AMAZING. Leo is a god baritone player. Everyone is a total master of their instrument. Tour Canada!
Sousas tone is garbo, the trombone has 2 dynamics, the trumpet is actually decent, the drummer is ok, leo has the grossest tone and his specialty is making bird noises, the tenor is just a tenor.
@@cooltaco333 you totally play all these instruments and are a master of them all lmao
@@cooltaco333 have you actually played instruments lol
Most of these criticisms aren't even true
rest of the band: why do you have to wear that
leo: i gotta
One of the fantastic record session ever! We loved it.
Sousaphone is what I play and I'm really exited for Buyo to have a solo for once!!
You guys are the only reason I practise my saxaphone and trumpet
As a Tubist, and a big fan of the Sousaphone, you guys just got yourselves another fan! Fan-freakin-tastic!
That saxophone solo is murder...
For the winds. Love being a percussionist. :)
It's the 3rd time i listen to this guys... I don't know what to think about Leo, honestly, he's insane, it's awesome.
did anyone else hear "woo!" from the sousaphone at 0:25?
Yeah, it's part of the song, instead of buzzing into his mouthpiece, instead he sings into it to get that sound
1:50 - when you drink too much alcohol and your friend give you a baritone saxophone
God I love Leo, he's the most out there person I've ever seen and perfectly happy the way he is he truly is magical
Whenever I listen to this I have to watch it, too. It's so mesmerizing to see this dudes bopping along to such a big heavy riff. You can't not headbang to this.
they are the best chops of luck, I admire all, more than anything to the trombonist and the one who plays tenor sax
Omg hype!!! Please play birdland (the Maynard Ferguson version)!!!!
YEEEEES!!! I saw the future corps play that and have loved it ever since.
I would pay money to see these guys play. wow. Leo is a god, all the others are great as well, amazing group.
I FUCKEN LOVE LEOS OUTFIT
BRILLIANT!!!!!!!
Lucky Chops, not sold to the music market, the underground will take him far can go underground stations worldwide without manager with the experience of meeting people from all over the world. The nature of human beings is to be nomade.
Make your recordings, but never leave the subway and streets.
The best!!!
He loves his instrument so much, he wants us to envision him having wild animal sax with it.
Been following Lucky Chops for 6-7 years. Leo and his buddies are insanely talented. His saxophone skills are mind blowing.
The steps of this intro make it the best intro I have ever heard EVEEEER! Genius!
Leo plays bari like nobody has. How the fuck he dances around with that weight on his neck is beyond me. Those horns aren't light. Twenty years from now he'll need knee replacements and be dealing with compressed discs.
Aro tej and he doesn't even use a harness. the majority of bari players use harnesses while he uses a neckstrap
Aro tej not to undermine leo but if you play Bari long enough it's doesn't feel so heavy, I've been playing Bari for a while and it feels pretty normal on me, about the same as how tenor felt when I was younger, tho when ever I play tenor now it feels tiny and almost flimsy as well as really light
Bet you play bari all the time. The average saxophonist actually have a much stronger neck then an average person and after a while it's not too bad.
Oh my god. They finally gave the sousaphone a reasonably big part.
wow such sound clarity. i always liked the sound but with that quality its top notch ! appreciation !
Still absolutely incredible to this day! Love love love this group of musicians
Leo P must be the weirdest looking straight guy I've ever walked into
;)
It's a pity if you have to put a winking emoji into every comment to make it a joke.
I sure as hell hope he's gay. He's too damn hot to be straight. No straight guy has sexy moves like he does.
the baritone sax player was rocking out there. the rest of you guys were also great
Raphael absolutely RIPPING as always!
The sous player gives me motivation to practice everyday. Omg
F***ING AWESOME.. I LOVE THEM ALL.. SPECIALLY BUYO HERE & THE PINKIE :) MUAAHH!!
I just got a sousaphone and I'm learning this, I swear this is the most catchy song ever.
Who knew you could make such a cool song just by repeating a chorus of three different pitches over and over!
I love this Trumpet!!! It's perfect!
my favorite song that you guys have written.
Had I been there, I can guarantee that I wouldn’t be able to even keep a straight face, much less play an instrument, because I would look over at Leo and just burst out laughing.
bro huge respect to the chill drummer, man is so underrated...
I just found out this channel and I'm literally shocked because every song that I've heard so far is wayyyyy too amazing... The melody is tooooo good in every song
That was necesary, a solo for the Tuba!! yeah
*GO GO GO TUBA*
None of those instruments are tubas, I'll assume you mistook it for a sousapuone
Buyo's sound is awesome!!
The second to last note that Buyo plays makes me feel all warm and melty.
these guys are great! like a modern day herb Alpert and the Tijuana brass. it's wonderful that people can still make great music with lots of ( I'm lost for words here so ill use spunk) and not just fall back on over produced sound boarded junk like most music artists these days
best bari solo Leo's ever done? I'd say so
You should listen to F.W.S. By too many zooz. Also a leo P solo and it's ridiculous.
+Bradley Krak That and the Survival of the Flyest solo are my favorites.
Amazing!
I love these guys! Leo P is visceral.
I can't believe this channel isn't more popular! This channel should at least have 1 million subscribers! You guys sound great!
Leo is like, "But shit it was 99 cents"
Still just as good as the first time I heard it 😌🤷♀️💕
That dude can play that Bari sax
Buenísimo este tema !!! En realidad todos sus temas me encantan.! La garra que ponen ! Felicitaciones !!💗

I like how every one automatically knew he was talking about leo
This comment is so cursed and blessed at the same time
