This video brought a big smile to my face! As much as I LOVE all your renovation videos, you seem so joyful and relaxed in this one! It's evident that you needed this break to recenter yourself and to do things that make your heart smile! I'm sure spending time with Romeo and Kinsley back at your CA home was something you needed to do. I guess you can call it a vacation of sorts? Anyway, great video, once again! But as I said before, I love ALL of your videos! Thanks for taking us along for the ride! ☺️♥️
MaCenna! I don't normally comment on UA-cam but I need you to know about the Topanga Vintage Market! It's the 4th Sunday of every month, just next to Pierce College in Woodland Hills. It has a really ideal balance of vintage home decor and clothing, and there's also a section at the front for artisans that's more reminiscent of Melrose. I really think you would love it, and I hope some time your schedule lines up while you're in LA and you can check it out for yourself!
Thank you for supporting a Filipina artist! I ordered the beautiful Terno painting I saw you picked up when you were looking through her work. I love that you take us with you in everything that you do, be it thrift shopping or renovating. I wish more people will discover how awesome you are! 🥰
Love how Kinsley brought you her toy and said, " Mom want to play now". She is a beautiful dog. Your frame is gorgeous. Glad you and Romeo are spending quality time together. Take care gorgeous and God bless you.
omg! as soon as i saw the dried flowers, then the paintings at 4:15 i had a feeling it was going to be jewelsalesart!! i have some of their flower arrangements and they're SO beautiful, highly recommend!!
I jump An excitement every time I get a notification a new video is up everyone is getting more and more thrilling as you make so much progress in life
I love seeing how happy and genuinely satisfied MaCenna is talking about their next house in LA :) her voice got so quiet but genuine and I could just see it in her eyes and I’m happy to see her and Romeo moving on to this next exciting stage of their life! So well-deserved.
So happy you are heading back to TX! I look forward to your home reno vids. Projects do make us feel purposeful, I am constantly working on home projects, it gives us such a high!
i LOVE Kinsley's picture! That was the gold star find. If you ever manage to get into New Mexico there is an amazing flea market in Santa Fe. It's an incredibly artsy community to begin with & is always filled to the brim with upcycled, handmade & antique items. The prices are really good too. It's one of my favorite places on earth. Once you've finished your house you might want to look into using air dry clay or even hot glue or resin and molds to add ornate elements to plain frames. I started out decorating frames I bought then I was given a miter chop saw as a gift. Now I haunt the molding & trim dept at Home depot, Lowe's etc. and make my own. It's crazy easy, fast and the results are better than you'll ever find elsewhere because your frames are exactly the size you want and as your collection of molds grows exactly the elements you want on it.
I haven't been anywhere for almost 3 years. 83 and afraid of getting COViD and I really don't need anything anyhow. I am now a hermit! lol But not really missing anything. If I need something, my daughter picks it up for me or I order online. Easy peasy!
My flea market list is always the same 😂 I'm always looking for: Amber bottles Picture frames Vintage books Wooden chopping boards Botanical prints Cut glass tumblers Earth ware pottery
In France, we have "brocantes", mostly during spring and summer time, on Sundays. It has become our weekly family outing! Just walking around, looking at all the cool and wierd stuff!
My mom and I go Thrifting/picking out in Fertile, MN. There are 2 HUGE antique shops there, and a few fun thrift/consignment stores as well. We always make a day trip out of it, and eat at the little cafe they have too. The one antique shop is run by this couple that buy up the last, unsold items at estate sales and auctions, they sort through it, and put it out in their shop. Its always so much fun to look through. Nothing is priced, so you just make an offer! :) I highly suggest it!!!
I get so excited when I see you post. I love watching your videos. Wondering if you could tell us how to redecorate on a extreme budget to refresh a home while family members are sick and your stuck in the house for months looking at the same four walls. Can’t wait to see you back in Texas with your mom. Enjoy the day.
I'm a scan shopper too. I walk quickly scanning until my eye catches something. Thanks for the flea market trip, there are none near me right now that I can go to. So I live vicariously through your excursions. :) Can't wait to see more cottage progress.
I love the rug you just put in your living room. I love how dark it is. I think the tiny bit of orange on your fireplace and the red in the rug isn’t a big deal. You’re over analyzing it haha! It’s beautiful.
I went to Melrose for the first time before the pandemic and it was $2 to get in. The Pasadena City College swap-meet is by far my favorite of all the flea markets/swap meets.
I really enjoyed this video because you were just so effervescent. It’s nice to see you relaxed and feeling in your element. Hopefully sooner than later, the cottage will be done so you can be just as happy there.
🤗🤎 eeeek!!! Thank you MaCenna for our new video. Literally my comfort watch now in the background too ☺️☕️ And your skin is glowing chum 😍 you’re a wee beaut.. love from Victoria xO Belfast love xO
Girl, may I just say how much I appreciate your posting consistency?? I love that you just got right back into the thick of things at your cottage! I can't wait to see the new progress you've made!
Loved seeing more of this side of your life. But so excited to get back to the cottage reno and to see this kitchen and bathroom come together!! love the contrast of the two different lives you have back and forth. Fav thing to thrift for would be antique kids stuff for my little ones. Little wooden spindled kids chairs and brass rocking horses for their shelves. I can’t help myself. They are just too cute 🤎
I love your videos. I am super impressed by your reno skills, your DIY projects, everything. You exude such fun upbeat energy I feel like I’m spending time with a good friend! I loved going along with you on this thrift trip.
Love you guys and the adventure you’re taking us on! We are in the process of downsizing as our two “babies” are off to college. Lol! In regards to the rug dilemma, don’t let it bother you too much. Before you spend too much money- remember, you two most likely won’t be there past a year. (Maybe a bit longer) save your money for new furnishings/renovations on the new place. Let the simple things like a rug that doesn’t completely pull the room together (but isn’t bad) go. Don’t stress yourself out. My simple opinion, but at the same time I can’t wait to see what you come up!
Let mum paint your house MaCenna, for the frame. With trees next to it, and flowers on them as you would like them to grow, or the bursts of flowers along the fence ! Cool, hun?
Kinsley’s pic will look so cute on the shelf in a frame. McCenna you would love the Sacramento Antique Faire, it’s once a month. They have all the pretty old things. It’s quite a drive from SoCal, but if you’re ever here in NorCal, you should check it out.
I LOVE the picture of Kinsley looks just like her❤️❤️❤️. I think all of the outfits are adorable bite the green top is so pretty. I was so excited you have a video up I totally forgot today was Thursday. Have a blessed day with Romeo ( I saw on Google) Ben and Jennifer went to the flea market OMG😂😂. I love the produce and clothing at flea markets
We have a pretty incredible vintage/flea market in Kansas City called west bottoms. It’s blocks & blocks of warehouses FULL of different finds. It’s one of my favorite adventures.
Pasadena City College (PCC Flea Market) is the first Sunday of the month and is really good. There’s also the Topanga Vintage Market at Pierce College.
I love your flea market videos. We finally have flea markets again, after 2 years of nothing, we now have a big flea market every wednesday for the next 2 months. Yeahhh :-)
Ahh sorry I just want to say that soil has a lot of moisture for a sansevieria. Cactus soil is usually recommended. Let it get dry between waterings and water thoroughly every week or so! If it's suffering from too much water add some sand. Wow this is a nerdy comment!
The snake plant needs cactus soil and likes to be in a sunny spot. And always plant having in mind the crown of the plant. I think you buried too much the plant and that will make it rot. Make sure that the crown of the plant is above soil level so water and moist soil don't rot it.
The brass, boot like thing is a Spanish Conquistador saddle stirrup. I know someone who collected them and hung them on her wall with trailing vines in them. Very collectible!
I have commented on a couple of your videos before but I'm not sure if you've seen them, so here I go again: when you do your landscaping, look for shrubs and flowers NATIVE to texas! this means they will be lower maintenance, can tolerate the heat cold bugs and deer from your state, and they will help your pollinators!
Oh looks like you’re having a really wonderful time!! So glad you got to take off and go back to LA and enjoy Romeo and his family and everything that has to offer you back in your little home in California! Yeah you can say that we’ve kinda gotten used to you being in Texas but you still do such a beautiful job in keeping us informed, entertained, enlightened can’t wait to see you back in Texas and have such a wonderful time and enjoy while you’re there!!!! P.S. don’t tease your mother about that frame you know she’s got a want it LOL……😂😂❤️❤️
First, I have been watching your cottage channel and enjoyed it so much I started watching your vlogs. Second and main reason I write, please, please, please get a head rest put back on your passenger seat. Having been hit head-on many years ago, I'm super cautious now. A lack of head rest means if you are hit your head will snap back so fast you may break your neck. Accidents even as slow as 35MPH can be quite bad. I write because I care!! xoxo
I loved this video. You seem so relaxed. I would love to see a Calif home upgrade as much as the Texas reno. Your video content is wonderful, no matter where you live.
When you said jumper i was sooooo confused! Here in Australia we call pretty much anything with long sleeves a jumper ie. what you call a sweatshirt/crewneck and a sweater are all "jumpers" to us. I would call what you were showing overalls, pantsuit or romper 👍🏻😂 Just so funny how within one language there is so many different names for the same thing!
You were wondering if the pants would fit at Melrose. Your neck is 1/2 size of your waist. So if you wrap the pants around your neck (with the pants done you), and the ends touch or overlap a bit, then they’ll prob fit. If the ends don’t touch, they’re too small 😊
the moment MaCenna put that rug down in her living room I knew she would return it. It's a beautiful rug but I kinda know now how her brain works after watching her videos for years now! :D XO
You missed the Pasadena City College flea market which I love! It’s the first Sunday of every month and it’s free. Over 400 vendors and tons of home decor. You need to check it out😀
I’ve missed you. Come home stat!!! We miss the cottage vlogs. My daughter and me were in Comfort on Saturday. We had a blast. It was hotter than heck!!! ❤
My favorite flea market is right at the end of summer, the first sunday in September. My whole hometown turns into a giant flea market. There is a barock palace with a big yard, where only kids are allowed to sell their stuff. There are even some small rides for kids to enjoy. Plus a sweet train which tours you through the yard. The rest of the city belongs to the adults and their stands to sell stuff. Some sell typical flea market stuff, some are more professional and sell handmade things, like basg, jewelry, etc. There are some really cool venders, some of them are selling real vintage stuff. Every year there is one who sells the prettiest vintage furniture. The coolest thing is, that there is something for everybody: clothing, decor, appliances, accessories, toys,... There are a lot of delicious food stands, snacks, drinks, great music, etc. It's kind of a big party, if you want to call it that. It's one of those events I'm looking forward to every single year
Enjoyed the vlog.. of course!!😊 I know it was great to have that break, and spend much needed time with Romeo, family & friends.. but I'm ready for more of the cottage!!😍 We actually own a thrift store in a small, country town in the mountains of Tennessee!! We get tons of donations from estate sales, its amazing!! Needless to say our home is about 85-90% thrifted! We moved from to Tennessee from NC almost 3yrs ago, all of our furniture & deco is still back there in storage, going to get it soon but most will go in the thrift store..I love what I have now!! Antiques, vintage, anything old!!!
I actually forgot it was Thursday until I got notified of your new video! Yay! I am always here for your content. Between you & Drew, I don't need any other channels, your content is 🔥 & can't be beat!! Sending much love & light from Oregon:)
I am so proud of you, with every moment you got excited , for example your counter top I cried. Everything you do makes me so excited for you. You are so tenacious and determine to get it all done. Love your excursions to flee markets and thrifting as well. I can see you with a Bandana and your arm up in a muscle pose like the poster back in the forties. You can do it and you do. Girl girl, Love you.
I wish my state had more things like this happening. It would be so much fun. We just have thrift stores and estates seem to be so hard to find. Also that green avocado top is so your color! Looks amazing with your eyes!
Love flea markets, been going since I was little. My grandpa used to sell at flea markets so it’s in my blood!!! I’m so drawn to vintage ornate pieces and a lot of the time just looking for something unique that I haven’t seen before. And I would be more excited to run into you at a flea market than Jen and Ben!!! ❤️that you are so much yourself in these videos! I would love to travel to all the flea markets you mentioned…someday. 😍
I love going to flea markets, I like looking for vintage furniture, I like looking for frames and art because I am an artist myself. I like dishes and plant pots. Thanks for a fun Vlog, I have really liked seeing all of your videos when you were in Texas, and I love the cleaning of that spare room of yours. So happy that you are happy to be in LA, and it is like a mini vacation, so good to see Romeo and Kinsley. My son has two 3-D printers and has printed some of the most amazing things. I hope that your weekend is a great one, looking forward to your next Vlog, sending love and hugs, bye for now. 😊😉💜
I love thrifting as well! I've been following you for a few years now and the very first time I saw you on UA-cam I couldn't help but notice you looked alot like Mary Kate and Ashley from "Full House" and to this day you still do 😃
This video brought a big smile to my face! As much as I LOVE all your renovation videos, you seem so joyful and relaxed in this one! MaCenna! Snake plants actually like to be snug in their pots. If they start to outgrow their pots its best to do a small upgrade
good to know. I was just looking at mine thinking it needs to be repotted --now I know to not go too big, thank you!
Yesss! And mine thrive when neglected and not in direct sunlight!
And they’re prone to root rot! (That’s why it was “juicy”) So let them completely dry out before rewatering ☺️
Yeah they LOVE to be ignored. Snake plants don't want attention.
When you saw the frames, you were like a dog seeing a squirrel! So funny!
Me not finding anything to watch you saving me I love you so much and everything you do!!
awww haha yay!! thank you so much !
I'm a scan shopper too. I walk quickly scanning until my eye catches something. Thanks for the flea market trip, there are none near me right now that I can go to. So I live vicariously through your excursions. :) Can't wait to see more cottage progress.
Same
I'm a scan shopper also. My mom, is a pick EVERY item up, and examine it, shopper. I try to be very patient when we shop together, lol.

Fav thing to thrift for would be antique kids stuff for my little ones. Little wooden spindled kids chairs and brass rocking horses for their shelves. I can’t help myself. They are just too cute 🤎

Ohmygod. This is better than receiving an Amazon package! 📦
Yeah!!!! I look for granny purses at the flea market with the plastic or leather interior so I can sanitize them.

So many great flea markets and antiques in the mid-Atlantic area that have incredible stuff; Washington, DC / Virginia / Maryland / etc.

Go away! Scammer!!!

I grew up in LA and always went to the PCC flea market in Pasadena. Great market for vintage home decor, vintage clothes and more.
LOVE it all!!! The frame is gorgeous & love the color!
Kinsley's pic is so adorable!
I love that as she was hauling the white frame she got she was placing a painting order to her mom 🤣🥰 adorable!

I love these markets ... I have always found so many wonderful cheaper things ...and also thinking off new ideas as I walk them 💫
I wish my state had more things like this happening.
