You need to use the needle nose style that grabs both edges for that 2 piece style clip, Pittsburg is for going behind door trim and popping Christmas tree style clips, Astro is for single piece clips button clips.
Great hands on review. Nothing beats a mini flathead screwdriver MO. At least to get it started. I have the other hf clip pliers (with the pincers) and they work OK. Youu could try sharpening the ends of the astro tool to get under the clip. Also, spraying clips with wd40 can help them come out easier.
I have a generic version of the Astro that I bought on Amazon. Actually I have both. I like the 'Astro-style infinitely better. I just use them to cut the clips off typically. The HF style doesn't give you that option. You have to pull really hard and then it violently flings the clip head into the air. In my opinion, those types of clips are typically one-time-use only.
It’s a bad workmen who blames his tools
The pittsburgh pliers work well for popping off door cards and other trim panels rather than clips
6:16 why dont you slide it under with the tips closed and open it once youre underneath?
