And Bernie Taupin, too. I have NEVER seen this video before. I dreamt last night that I was taking a tour of Elton‘s house. He was very friendly and accommodating. His house was the size of a shopping mall in my dream.
@@JonBlackstone and interesting that Nigel was shown playing guitar at various points because he was originally a guitarist in Plastic Penny if I'm not wrong before he took over drums?
@@johnnymongrel I always assumed they were switching instruments to be funny. Elton is on bass for a moment and on drums in the original video (I didn’t use that shot in my edit). And I think someone else is at the piano at one point? I might be imagining that. 😎 I assumed Nigel played drums in his first band but you may be right? I don’t know anything about his stuff before Elton except the stint he and Dee did with Spencer Davis.
@@JonBlackstone The way I heard it he knew a few chords on guitar but sat in on drums when the drummer didn't turn up one night. The rest, as they say, is history. Incidentally, he also dabbled with Roger Hodgson at the formation of Supertramp.
Yes, indeed, great combined footage of Dee, Nigel, and Davey...and Elton - the Elton John Band! Well done! Bernie, too. They could do no wrong! Thanks for creating this!
Bernie absolutely had the look to be a star in his own right. And from his solo albums to Farm Dogs we know he has an okay voice. Wish wed heard him sing with Elton.
I’ve been on a Randy Meisner kick lately, so if you have any performances to share of him or the Eagles when he was with them, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks for watching! I don’t have anything that’s not already available. Randy played with Poco. If you haven’t already you should check out that stuff too. I absolutely love his vocals!
@ yeah, the Eagles really screwed up when they ran him off. His vocals were everything in that band. He was the best of the best and supposed to be such a sweetheart, too. I never got to see the Eagles. I was still a bit too young.

Thanks for watching! That’s why I featured lots of Bernie. He’s such an unknown talent!
What a band. The four of them were the kings of the 70’s. You were lucky to meet and work with Dee and Nigel. Merry Christmas from Australia Jon.
Thanks for watching! Merry Christmas to you and yours! And a blessed new year to come.
@@JonBlackstone corrected from John to Jon. My apologies.
Nigel and Dee were (as usual) amazing on this.
I know! While editing this video I listen on AirPod Pros and the bass and drums are incredible. The track is incredible. Thanks for watching!

Nice edit!
I'm glad you like it! I had a lot fun putting it together. Thanks for watching!
SO surprising to see Bernie in the video. I loved his book and some of the stories were just crazy.
@@MikeM91320 I wanted to make sure he was featured prominently! Thanks for watching!
