This seems really great! I don't master my tracks anymore but think this would be a pretty damn good limiter to use for now on. I'm going to see if they have a demo and check it out.
Heya, thank you for this video and you got a new subscriber now. Been a big fan of TD for a few years now having used their free versions. Quality. Bought the full version of the Limiter N6 a while back but, I NEVER SEE VIDEOS OF PEOPLE USING IT!! Thank you for this. It opened my eyes to that simple little thing. Such a powerful tool and I want to tap into it more for my mastering but, am a little overwhelmed by it. Any chance you could do a video of it in more detail? Again, thanks for all you share.
@@mixbustv Hi David, I became a paid member today and was wondering if you could tell me where I can find some more in depth video of yours using the Limiter N6 specifically. Really love the content. Thanks.
Yes, there is. Most multiband compressors work with an ‘absolute’ threshold, rather than the ‘relative’ threshold that David is talking about here. I’m sure there are others, but one plug-in I can think of that also works with a relative threshold is Pro-Q3’s auto threshold on its dynamic EQ.
yes, it is. all limiters have some different behaviors with different materials but it is a totally capable limiter with lots of features. you can't go wrong with TDR plugins
@@lighterwaves5659 that’s the type of thing that would be best handled during the mixing stage, or better yet, during production/recording. It’s quite challenging to do something as extreme as adjusting the tuning of specific elements when mastering because you only have 2 channels to work with

I love the TDR HF limiter! Also works wonders on vocal tracks to smooth the hi-end.
This is EXACTLY why I am subscribed to your channel: gold nuggets of knowledge!!! 🙏🙏🙏
Ditto!!
limiter6 GE is my go to, thanks for dropping your knowledge on this. Would love to see more TDR tips
Another tip: try turning up the focus knobs on the peak limiter.
Oi oii been using this trick for a while now. So glad u also doing this man
Don't be confused by the video, he isn't limiting 3k he is limiting everything above 3k. That's how this limiter works.
You got the best channel ever bro. I've been l learning things from your channel so far and it helped me allot. I appreciate you my guy
yup! super
David !! Try the Clipper in the same plug and use the Delta function for absolute precision !! For me the TDR 6 is the best plug in master chain :) :)
It really is, it was on sale the other week for just 9.99, all my other limiters and clippers are now redundant. Limiter 6 is the best
@@darkcharmrecords trying this one actully, sounds better than ozone 9 or sonible limiter imo (the 2 mastering vst i own).
@@rman4539 Very true... Cannot believe how good it really is sometimes.. does take up some cpu power though. still the best
can't wait for the full video :)
Yes then I've got this plugin too. A sweet new trick to try with it. Top work thanks
oh yeah, more knowledge !!

Thanks for the good tip ! Take care
I was like “he uses 6 limiters?!” 😂
Wonderful tip and feature! Thanks for sharing!
You work so much I wonder how you find the time to workout, David. How do you organize your days?
Wake up early, work out, then everything else 👍
That sounds like a great tool to have! 🙂👍

I have few videos where I use this in depth more on the members videos
@@mixbustv Ok cheers. Thanks!
Same as that I have this but rarely does anyone go deep on it on UA-cam

great tip, thanks
Nice music thoe
Is there any difference using a multiband compressor reacting to 3k here?
Yep, with very high ration it can do the job like this limiter
Yes, there is. Most multiband compressors work with an ‘absolute’ threshold, rather than the ‘relative’ threshold that David is talking about here.

Exactly
How do you like this compared to the DS-1? Could do similar stuff with that badboy, too
heyyy stop dropping the secrets!!! lol😅 great content
Can i use this plugin for limiting? Is it as good as fabfilter and other industry standard limiter plugin?
yes, it is. all limiters have some different behaviors with different materials but it is a totally capable limiter with lots of features. you can't go wrong with TDR plugins
This IS industry standard
I use both depending on the sound I want. See which one sounds best on each track. Honestly, I go to this one more often than FF .

question...is there any "tunning" that takes place during the mastering stage?
Not sure what you mean by tunning
@@mixbustv like ud tune a guitar...low freqs, tuned to mid freqs, tuned to the highs. like strings
