THANKS BOSS ! i've tested it today and it workes , with a 16 channels hikvision. i'm happy that i made this achievement. small note : the serial number in sadp program have added some more text , so you should remove the additional text and writte the same number as showen in the dvr.

Hi. You might have a newer model so you will need the Sadp tool to change the password or if you have it on the Hik-connect app. You can reset the password on the app. If you need the Sadp tool, it's on my website jasonchannel.com/hikvision

That just means you have a newer recorder. So the video method will not work for you. In the Sadp tool, hit forgot password and it will give you 3 options.

There has to be a way to factory rest via hardware on the newer ones lile i bought and came already locked. A jumper wire or two or 3 and a switch to turn all on at same time or vertain sequence.
@@classyclickstudios4653 There is a tool SADP on the hikvision homepage, with this tool the system data is read from the NVR, and you send this by email to Hikvision support, after 1 day you will receive a RESET FILE of this you play via sadp tool in the NVR, if you have done everything correctly you can enter a new password. Attention after receiving the RESET FILE you have 12 hours to apply it. There are enough examples here.

Hii Jason, nice video, but i have one problem. When I do all this according to the video, I find the security code, click ok, and it just says that the code has been reset. I don't have a window that pops up to enter a new password.
When I click forgot password it takes me to a different screen, and then I get a message saying storage device not found or damaged. It has a ssd in the dvr so im not sure whats wrong
It depends of the firmware. The only works on the older recorders with the old firmware. The newer recorders, you have to contact Hikvision. www.hikvision.com/ca-en/support/password-reset/
If this doesn't work, then you have a newer model. You will have to contact Hikvision display.hikvision.com/en/support/how-to/faq/how-to-reset-password/

On some newer models, there is a reset button on the main board.

Does not work with model: DS-7204HGHI-F1, because this invisible icon is not available, instead direct visible help is offered via support request.

You can just write it on the site. But keep in mind, this only works for the older firmware recorders.

You can factory reset any model, but you will need the password.

If you look at the top of your camera image, it was show the date and time. Go by that date.

What model do you have? Some recorders have the serial number under the recorder. Take it down and use the SADP tool.
