I assume he ignored the installer's instructions regarding passwords and recording them for future use. I'd been searching for many weeks how to reset the NVR's password, reading numerous articles and viewing numerous videos. All of them have been hard to follow and applied to different versions of the NVR's interface, which vastly differed from mine. Also, the presenters seemed to presume the viewer was familiar with the software and sped through steps and sometimes used terms only known by HIKvision techs. Your video is everything those others aren't. It's clearly presented, at a slower pace to help easily follow, and made no assumptions. Thanks again. After I complete the NVR reset, I plan to peruse your videos for more instruction on my system. I'll want to reset the camera passwords and also update all the components firmware.,

I need a help on my Hikvison DVR analog 16port, i have done all this at the last encrypted file page it doesn't work on my device, it shows password reset failed
I have never worked with one of those devices. However, from my understanding, if it is networked you should be able to both detect it and reset it via SADP. You may want to check with tech support to be sure: us.hikvision.com/en/support-resources/tech-support/technical-support

That is the only way to reset if it is a Hikvision camera they will reply in my experience even if they cannot help they will tell you why! Some older devices have a reset button, look for that but I’d try completing password reset form again.
Watching this in 2024 from a video in 2021, it is so ridiculous there was a feature from Hikvision for detecting people wearing masks or not... those couple years were one of the biggest psych ops in history.... Anyway, great video ! thanks for the tips !
Have you first activated the cameras one at a time? When doing so, ensure that DHCP is selected. If you plug more than one camera in at a time, they will all be on Hikvisions default IP address of 192.168.1.64. This can create IP address conflict.
Please help me I bought the dvr on auction and I cannot contact the old owner because company went bankrupt I mailed hikvision and as a response I get that they cannot help me due to security reasons????
I am not sure to be honest. If it is genuine Hikvision hardware I believe it will work. We work out of the US though, so I don't know. I would try and see what Hikvision tells you.

Depending on the model of the camera, it may do that. Try clicking on the camera in SADP and using the export button on the top menu in SADP to download the file that way. Then you can attach it as discussed in the video.

I don't think you need to be a licensed installer. Did you complete the password reset request and they denied you?

How long you have to wait after you send your ticket? I waited a day and a 1/2 and it didn't work.
This is for US only, but they generally respond in 15-30 minutes
Thank You for this video, had a customer forgot their password and never set a email or security question, got the email in about 10 minutes.

Yes if it is Hikvision recorder use the SADP tool as shown in the video you can reset it.

Usually within a few minutes. I believe it has to be during normal business hours in California though.

Don’t call them download the code and submit it per the video.
The device password and the camera is the same password I bought a different brand nvr brand it doesn’t work they need a password to use the camera
They send me Reset input key .. which is not working

When I click "Forgot Password" ask me for "Security Code"... I do not have... :-(
