Car Boot Sale & Flea Market Report 15 October 2023

- It was 3 Degrees C at the car boot sale (Flea Market) this morning and very quiet on the number of vendors there when I arrived so I thought I would hang around for a while.
The first tool I found is this weeks mystery tool!!
Sure enough an hour or so later other vendors arrived and I began to find tools for myself and a few things for Mrs Rathbone too.
As I had spent Thursday at the Footprint Tools facility in Sheffield I managed to find three tools made by this great English company. two wrenches and another pair of gas pliers that are of later manufacture than the set I picked up the other month.
Please be sure to take a look at the Footprint Tool company website via my link.

I'm really looking forward to the factory video.
Mrs Magdad liked the snail flower pot you found! 🐌
That is brilliant how they gave you a gold plated Footprint wrench!
It was great as well as a surprise.
My old boss used to shout are you F#@king gold plating that to what ever machine he thought we had taken too long to repair.
(2:40), This item can hold Snail brand tools.
Very good 🤣😂🤣😂 Thanks for watching.
Can you do a bench test with your gold plated footprint please? 😂
Did Mrs Rathbone accompany you on the tour?
No she stayed at home, I visited a museum whilst I was there and she said she would like to check it out too.
Thanks for watching 👍👍
I am always curious about the employees of companies who make products that I like. I like to know if they are happy with their jobs and what the atmosphere is like inside a factory.
I think the mystery tool looks like something that you grasp a metal wire with and then pour molten lead or something similar until the channel to form a solid end that won’t slip out of something like a break cable for a bicycle. The stuff you cleaned out is probably remnants of that leaf or zinc or whatever it was.
If it was used for lead work of some description that would explain the white powdery residue on the jaws. I will need to be careful removing the powder from my work bench! 😳
