What happened to this channel?
So this channel is dead then....
How did you get it back down?
1:26:33 balloon pops
These balloons are designed to fail at a certain altitude. As the ambient pressure drops, the constant pressure inside the balloon makes it grow bigger and bigger, until it reaches the material's limits and bursts open. If it wasn't designed like that it would climb to an altitude where the buoyancy of the balloon and earth's gravity reach equilibrium, and theoretically stay there forever, although both helium and hydrogen (whichever they're using here) will slowly leak out of the balloon, and UV light will degrade the material of the balloon, so it would eventually fail anyway.
