  • Looking through a very old book on design plates from 1881. Unfortunately, it's in bad repair. The plus side of this is that there are lots of crinkling and cracking noises to be had. I hope you enjoy this.
Also want to dedicate this vid to Thewhispertiger, whose videos have been putting me to sleep most nights. Thanks a lot! Here's his channel:

    and a great video too:

This video makes my pulse and breathing slow down instantly. So relaxing with the crackling binding (goosebumps), the pointer, and slow turning of big pages of heavy paper. I'm not sure why I get ASMR from reading the text and "completing" the patterns, but I do. Something about achieving completion sets me off. Thank you, Soundsculptures!

What a wonderful book. You can really see all the care and attention to detail that went into making it. It's a far cry from today's printers.
    Also, your videos are superb.

I keep coming back this particular video. I think it's my actual favourite ASMR video full stop. Thank you so much SS for all of your work and especially this one, the 19th century school book, and the Chicago art cards. I Really enjoy your barber shop video. Hair cuts were the first time I recall experiencing ASMR.

Mesmerizing:) Handling of old books/documents is one of my all-time favorite triggers! Actually, one of the main reasons I watch historical documentaries is to find scenes like this. Good one!

it's kind of awesome that you collect all the books because is very important from the past present and future and maybe pass on your grandchildren and then everyone could remember of your past that you collected or before you or anyone

@SOUNDsculptures Thanks so much for the info. I ordered a facsimile edition yesterday for about $14.00. BTW, your 1881 edition is listed for sale on line from $104-$140 (depending on condition.)
I wanted to let you know how much I enjoy your presentations here on UA-cam. The way you trigger my ASMR response while tickling my intellect is masterful.

Other than the last few minutes, where I heard what sounded like a busy street in the distance, and someone walking about in the room (the street was fairly annoying TBH), this was an excellent video. I thoroughly enjoyed the cool patterns and designs :)

What an AMAZING book!!!!!!! The designs are absolutely stunning! (Is this part of your own library?) I wonder if I could find a copy of this somewhere...
ASMR elements are perfect here, but I cannot begin to tell you how taken I am by the beauty of the plates in this volume.

@SOUNDsculptures I didn't think that there would in fact be someone there, but I heard some sort of bumping around or something. The bumping was all that bad, just distracted me a little :P but the noisy street was unsettling. Nonetheless the video was still amazing, even through the bothersome ambience :) And the ambience wasn't that bad after I got used to it, but it didn't really fit the whole "Peace and Calm" concept of ASMR :P

Design plates are just standardised patterns that you can copy/paste into your work.
