Mr Mortske, She's a downright beauty I muss say, but in daa future let us know when you's gonna start weldin' so we don't git flashburn ya hear? and keep Duff under the trailer so his eyes are protected. Keep the videos comin'!
That will make life so much easier for you , now you can double up the numbers for cars for 'Mondays with Mortske" , which i Always start my week with. Take care, stay warm , Stuart in Ontario............
Once it gets warm again in NoDak, spray/paint that trailer deck with used motor oil. Wait til after that wood dries out a little bit and it will soak up that oil deep into the wood fibers. Easy, free, and it works.
Something I've done, and have not seen folks do.. get a long run of 6 gauge (whatever you can get) and hook it to the main battery under the hood with a on/off switch..ziptied under the truck to the rear bumper, where a disconnect feature is used to tap into the winch battery for more power/volts. I've seen many folks on the youtubes that run the winch battery dead lol
We use to top coat the wood with used motor oil back in the day. Never had a problem. Nice coat and put it outside in the sun for a few days. Was set to go 👌
Love the "most people don't tow with their truck" comments from some people and you use the snot out of trailers to the point where the axles bend. Never actually seen a trailer axle bending happen before but you tow a lot of cars. Nice new trailer.
Just a suggestion - bolt/weld an ammo box with the water tight lid on the other side of the winch from the battery to keep your manual, remote and cable in. You could also add a lock on the lid.
Nice work, nice trailer. I share your angst concerning trailer wiring. Solder and Shrink Tube where/when warm dry and clean. Repairs will never be when you have time or good weather and everything will be filthy, wet and corroded. You're on your own with the lock washer lack of love. Nice to see Duff, finally. May you haul many projects in good health and high spirits.
Hey Mortske: Another good find that'll definitely help and aid you in the collection of cars that you get... Definitely Duff approved as well... From the home of PB Blaster Silicone spray.... Cleveland, Ohio.... (Worth a couple of sammitches for a finder's fee....)
Man thats one serious bit of kit! Makes the "car transporter" trailers we get here in the UK look like something out of a kinder egg.. the "good" one we have is an Iforwilliams ct136-hd.. ours looks like the finest chinesium in comparison
Good job, this was a perfect DIY job, dunno why they dont put those spots on the trailer, obviously they know that you will use a winch and battery box. Also they don't sell it cheap, buyer shouldn't get busy with all that metal work cuz everyone doesn't have a shop/ proper tools for this type of work. Enjoy your new trailer Mortske honestly i envy you smiles.
Moving up in the world Mortski I noticed the Clark forklift sitting there also big boys and their tools oh yeah I'm having a cold snack celebrating for you and the duff dog 😂👍💯🇺🇸🍺🍺
I think dad knows best in this case, I’d slap some linseed oil on it too, wood is expensive and it’d be quick and easy to do even if it does get mostly oiled through use … great trailer, great investment for your business - good buy 👍
Absolutely love these kinds of videos! Please keep up this kind of content! Not boring at all. It’s my inspiration to go out and buy some “junk” Don’t listen to the nay sayers it’s definitely NOT boring.
Nice work fella! An idea, maybe weld a couple of bolts on the forward face of your battery hold down and mount a mudflap to protect the battery. Enjoy all of your work. Thank you!
How about installing a tire rack/tool boxes/parts bin? You can put your snatch blocks, straps, chains, extra tires and rims and whatnot on it. If you get something that's all greasy you can stick it in there instead of dirtying up your truck. It's very useful to have.
Overkill on the axles is the way to go. Stuff last longer when it’s being run at 50% capacity instead of 90% all the time. Congrats on the new trailer, here’s to years of trouble free service🍺
A cool idea I had seen on Pirate4x4 forums for spare tire storage was to use a spare tire winch from the back of a pickup truck. I used one from a 2nd gen dodge from the junkyard! Works really well, easy to get at, up and out of the way and easy to get to when you need it!
What a deal, that trailer is a money very well spend. Now you can get out cars from the very inaccessible places by having the skit steer come along with you on the trailer.
@@moremortskerepair4354 One thing you can add to this trailer is a external toolbox a small one in case you forget to take a socket or a wrench to change one of the wheels. Other wise she is ready to haul some old clunkers out of the woods.
Boring...
You should probably show us what you got going on in your shop. I bet it's real exciting stuff!
@@moremortskerepair4354 I think there is a pressure washing channel ! Haha !

Coat the floor boards with used motor oil. Leave it to dry in the summer sun. Use a paint roller. Cheap and easy.
