One of the things I loved about the old shop was it felt like any garage a mechanic enthusiast would have. Last year the new shop felt big and less "personal". But... any one of us would be kidding ourselves if we didn't jump on an opportunity to move into more space, and space for lifts! After a year, the new shop feels familiar now and watching the early stuff it's amazing all you did in such limited space. Raising a glass for the old shop and long live the new shop. Here's to many successful years to you and Duff!
I agree it's not as relatable to most folks!
We've seen a few UA-cam channels grow. , It was a big deal when mortskie got to half a million..
While other guys made it to a million.. this must be good revenue for these channels?
They end up becoming celebritys.
@@2509498788 people might listen to what he’s said. This place had been in the works for 6 years and finally happened when the owners retired. Plus Mortske is different than some YTers, he had an impressive career prior to YT. Just sayin, this guy was going to own this place, YT fame or not. Personally I think anyone who works as hard as he does deserves great things. But that’s just me.
I have a few ( Go to channels) he's in the top three. Some channels NEVER reply,, Duff is a great side kick.. he keeps his personal life separate from UA-cam life,..
I like how he does appearances in other UA-cam channels..
The model A video in Oklahoma was way cool..
That’s the smartest thing I’ve ever heard you say: “I know you think you know me, but I don’t know YOU.” BINGO! 👍👍👍You should pin that to your posts.
dont worry about what people say about brent .you showing him support is great
I've been subscribed for a year but didn't realize you had a 2nd channel -- unlike Puddin, who talks about his all the time. The shop tour was GREAT; your inventory and organizational skills are top notch. This is the only shop I've seen you in, so I thought you'd had it for a lot longer than one year (two years now in 2024). Love you long format videos and Duff moments are really special.
Welcome aboard!
Two suggestions...find or build a battery-safe cabinet. Lithium batteries can have a thermal event even without being charged. Also, use a covered metal garbage can in the shop. It prevents something hot from landing in the can and a lid will contain a fire if one did start. Remember no pile of greasy rags. Outside in a sealed can.
It's nice to see you really leaning into minimalism. It takes a lot of discipline.
Uhhh, about that.
@@moremortskerepair4354 😂
BTW Puddin’ says hello
And the trees would offer shelter for pheasants and I am sure that Duff would approve of that.
Can’t believe it’s been a year already!!! Thank you for the tour!! Duffers was looking for some din din..too cute!!! Nice shout out for Brent ❤
🥰Love to Duffers 🥰
Thank you!
You’re a good guy Mortske. Brent is worth mentioning and helping!
Congratulations on your one year anniversary🎉🎉🎉
Your very nice to mention Half Ass Customs. Brent is great guy. And Mortske your a great dude. You put up with Puddin’s stuff. Thank you very much for the tour. ❤️💯👊👍 Yes sir Free is always in the Budget!
Something everyone misses on the flammable cabinets is no one bonds/grounds them. I actually own a business that specializes in grounding and bonding. So it always amuses me all the business’s I see with flammable cabinets and then they fail to bond/ground them.
What do you do? Just Anchor it to the ground ?
Good to know, also interested in the process.
Was just about to say the need for grounding of the cabinet. You beat me to it. 👍
The reason they are grounded is the same reason it is prohibited to fill a fuel a portable fuel can that is in contact with a vehicle....
There is a static charge between paint and plastic or just the paint to paint or plastic to plastic. A spark can happen faster that a blink if an eye! Gas cans and chemical containers are made of those non-degradable synthetic plastics that when rubbed together will produce static charging. The ground strap eliminates the static.
I understand what grounding is but what does bonding mean?
I could not be more excited to see a T/A in the yard. I’ve owned 5 second gens over the years.
Congrats on one year.
Thank you!
Proud for you Mortske and thankyou for mentioning Brents dilemma.
You sed it right Brent will be fine he is a wonderful person and God will help him and he will be able to get everything done and he will make better content and make alsome stuff so he will be fine
Nice shout out for half-assed customs. Please don't let the negative comments get to you. You just be you, and you well do great . Puddin and Brent will too.👍
Look at Mortske....all organized and stuff. 🤣🤣🤣
That shop looks awesome. Good job and congrats. 👍
A whole year and you haven't lost the shop... I blame it on Mojo. He knows s thing or two about shootin' Shinola... Well done, fellers. One of my three favourite channels. (And I'm subscribed to hundreds)... 🇬🇧🍺 (Sorry, Duff, there's no bone emoji. Or a chicken drumstick. OK, have a crappy ball)... 🥎👍
Mortske you are Crushing that shop!!!!!! Great Job...you must love it!!!!!
Sure do
MoJo is a Gem!
Sure is!
Happy 1st year anniversary in your new shop
wow one year already. whenever i am stressed out i watch your videos calms me down
Happy to hear that!
In the pines where the sun never shines.
Close to two years now.... congratulations!! I hope you're realizing enough success to start putting some of your plans for improvement into action.
BTW, Your shop looks great after only a year!
Just one of those who loves the show keep it going.
Bill and lawnmower man would make good sidekicks for the new alliance.
So you have a 389 and a 1979 T/A, I am waiting with anticipation for this one. Well done Mate!
Love ya dude
Congrats on your first year at your new shop morske keep up the good work and I don't blame you for wanting your privacy people should ask to visit not just show up 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Dream shop.
Bet you wish the floors were
Heated ..
Maybe some day
When you and Duff hit the lottery ❤
Having stuff in the building sure made a difference in the amount of echo from when you first started in there
Congrats on the 1 year! Know what is missing? Lawnmower man. The new shop doesn't have lawnmower man. Every small town has one guy who uses a tractor for a daily. And a bicycle guy. Like Puddin has Bill... we have Bobby 10 speed. Can you get a drunk driving charge on a bicycle? I'm sure Bobby 10 speed has when get gets deep into the sammiches.
All that stuff and look at those clean white walls that you cleaned better than Alice did for the Bradys
I am glad to see the Natural light 12 pak box on top of the Samich Fridge! It reminds me of my Dad who passed away three years ago.❤
Oh and by the way...
I love free, cause it rhymes with me!
Good shop toure
Thanks for the tour Mortske…..
I’ve even Turned, fly wheels on the Amco machine…. Great show.
Carry-on
Hehehehe….immediately went to see what the scent was for the air freshener and then thought….how does Mortske know what a new car smell is? Must be bobcat scented! 😂🤣😂😂🤣😜
Got my grape concord shirt!! Thanks a bunch Mortske team!!
Awesome
@More Mortske Repair Mort, I don’t comment much but I’ve been following you for years. I love the channels. I follow Puddin and Dereck as well.
I’m a private contractor by trade. I wish you were closer. I’d gladly donate some time and install proper benches, cabinetry, electrical, plumbing and whatever else you needed done in there.
The ag dealership I used to work for heated their shops with used oil. There were four furnaces to keep filled up. Most of the local coops were doing away with anhydrous ammonia nurse tanks, so we bought several to use for oil storage. We put one on a 5th wheel trailer and mounted a vacuum pump on the tank powered by a gas engine. This worked really well to gather used oil from 55 gallon drums or chemical totes. We could empty a 55 gallon drum in 2-3 minutes with NO spillage, mess, ect. We could then pressurize the 'road' tank with 20 psi of air and transfer the oil to the lot tanks. For being 'free' heat, it was a lot of work.
Awesome idea!
@@moremortskerepair4354 just be sure to weld on some 2" NPT fittings for the fluid transfer ports. It will REALLY speed up loading and unloading thick used oil.
It’s awesome to see you and puddin growing over time.
You're doing good. It will come.
Thank You for mentioning the fire at Halfass Customs. And how to make donations to Brent and his wife.
The thing about having so much stuff is you don’t remember what you have and what you don’t have that you spent an hour digging through totes to see if you have it but you don’t but maybe you do so keep your memory, strong, take provision to keep your mind strong like they say on TV lol
Don’t blame you at all for not wanting people just showing up I like people only when I invite them congratulations on the one year anniversary of your new shop.
Congrats on one year!
Mortske, give Casper the LS treatment and make content out of it. You could get 3 to 5 videos minimum. And we'd love to see it.
And Yeah! You tell em' Mortske! No one knows what you're doing or not doing. People never cease to amaze me.
You got a new shop? Kidding. I just bought a house with a garage and two giant sheds and I live in constant fear because I know I'm going to be the same way. The more space you have the more stuff you rationalize in to fill that space.
Sick The Mortske Minute Studio at 18:19 🤪
🎉🎉🎉Congrats on the one-year in your new garage
Cool seeing the recap of the last year! Can't wait to see the '63! Thanks for sharing! 😊👍
I have that same blue air jack. It has far exceeded my expectations.
Engine roller stands, and outside a rear end rack, that looks like Christmas tree from the side...priceless
It's a dream shop sir. Thanks for the tour.
The league of extraordinary UA-cam mechanics have a new secret layer. 🤳🏾
You have been talking to that Puddin feller
Man. Seeing those winner shirts hurts my ❤ lol. 😅. Gonna order something eventually
Mortske🍻keep em Rollin! Duffs such a good pup🦴 the shop will eventually get organized don't trip potato chip😂
Congratulations om the 1 year anniversary. The shop looks great ,can't wait to see the 63' Chevy and F1 content .
The one yeAr went quick
I still remember the old shop
You got a new shop?!?! 😂😂😂😂 That was 97.8786% of your comments for months afterwards...😂
Dream shop sir I would love a lift glad you’re doing well!
You may want to consider planting a hedge row or maybe some poplar trees out along the highway. They will cut down on the road noise and offer you quite a bit more privacy without costing a fortune..............and they will pretty up the place. Anyway, just a thought. I watch all your vids. Keep 'em coming.
Kirby here...glad the vac sucks, but doesn't suck😂😂. Enjoyed the tour, the year has flown by. Can't wait to see what's to come. Here's to many many more.🎉❤
Thank you!
your rite brent is a rebound kind of guy he will make it all good again. great gains on getting the new shop and I dont care about normal out side or inside sounds makes it more normal. just me im a bodyman and machanic. love the place and the great vids on both channels. cheers morts.
A sbc 383 backed by a 700R4. Make the compression around 9.6:1 and a mildish hydraulic roller cam to keep the low end torque higher for the white low rider truck. You build it like this and you'll want to drive it everyday.
Make sure if you want to build the transmission yourself to source a '93 or newer 700R4 that has the factory upgrades already.
If you get cheap eBay aluminum heads, get ones with no bigger than 195cc runners and no smaller than 180cc. Buy them bare and make sure to use the green self wicking Loctite to glue the seats in(just in case) and they'll be good to go(a better valve job wouldn't hurt though). Get valves and springs to match the cam you pick. If you start out with a factory roller block you can get a factory regrind cam for about half the price of a new cam. They even grind them more performance orientated as well.
Top it off with your choice of a genuine imitation RPM Airgap dual plane intake (or original?) and your choice of carburetor.
The rear gear should be at least a 3.08:1 gear so the trans can be shifted into overdrive@ 45 mph. From the low end torque from a mildish cammed sbc 383 you can probably get away with a 2.73:1 at the numerically lowest but may need to wait to shift into O/D until 50 or wait till 50 mph to hit the lockout switch? It probably has at least 3.08 gear in it already?
This should work just fine with factory exhaust manifolds so you don't have to deal with headers. Just make sure not to get to crazy with the cam's duration @ .050", keep it below 225°. My cam is an Comp XFI grind that works great with a carb that is 202°/212° @ .050" with .550"/.546" lift that pulls like a freight train in 1st gear.
one year wow i hope you have many more years. hi duff dog 🐕.
Well said Mortske--people should respect you and your space.
I can’t wait to see the ‘63 video!
Enjoyed the picture show
that tank by the lift controls is in the way. it would be a great spot for a bench.
Wow! A year just flew by. Shop is looking nice. 👍🏻
Time flys! A year already! Congrats again on the shop! Duff needs dinner and the audio to me is excellent! 👌👌

What a great spot. We’ll deserved for all your hard work. Definitely lookin forward to upcoming projects!
Hard to believe it's been a whole year! A lot has happened in a short amount of time. I think it's awesome. Thanks for the tour/shop update.
What I like about the shop is more room. The old one is claustrophobic
thanks for the shop tour mortske!! too bad you have to deal with people harassing you to help halfass...maybe they should help him and stop worrying about what you are doing?
A whole year ! Congratulations! There's a lot of stuff that accumulates, huh ? Love the content !
Happy one year anniversary to you and Duff and many more i' wearing the shirt with the dodge pickup and Duff in it of course.
We’re all happy for ya Mortske. Great space. Organization and variety of parts is impressive. JMO, you might miss that table if you take it out. Great for merch. F1 excites me. You don’t need to explain re HAC, but your psa re safety could save someone’s shop. Keep on keeping it real man. All the best,Kiki.🤙🏻🌺
Thanks for another great video and thank you to the editing department !🐾🍺
