    Bravo to Greyhound Buses Company to do this fantastic presentation for people in Mexico to learn how to travel from the border to the United States. 👍😀

    First time on a Greyhound bus and first time visiting Mexico. I had a ton of anxiety about this, but this helped ease my fears while informing me how to better prepare for the expense. Mucho gracias! Te aprecio!

      How did it go at the border? Did you have to exit the bus and then hop back on after walking though customs?

    • @azurecomet86

      @@rogercordon9044 More or less. Since I didn't have Forma Migratoria (which I recently learned you can complete online, print out, and also pay the fee, print and keep the receipt as proof of payment - second visit in a few days so hopefully that works) I was the first off the bus, had to go to a small office where I was asked where I was staying/for how long/purpose of my visit, they filled out the paperwork and gave me 90 days even though I expected 1-2 weeks, I took it to the front window where I paid the fee ($771 MXN/$40~45ish USD) and it got stamped (and I was supposed to keep it on me at all times while in Mexico pretty much), and then I went back outside, grabbed my luggage, and we all went through the checkpoint/scanner area, out the other side, and back on a different (I think) bus.

    That was about border crossing from US to Mexico but is it the same from Canada to US? I think yes.

    Funny i dont remember needing a passport to enter mexico in a auto from the us or leaving back from there. Maybe they changed things after 9/11 as this was back in '78 or '79.

      You need a passport these days. Actually Americans have needed a passport to reenter the US since about 2009. In the past 4 or 5 years, Mexico has asked to see passports if you're walking into the country. You also need to fill out a tourist visa. It's much more complicated these days.

    When I cross into Mexico by foot without passport I'm charged 20. I seen some videos of people using greyhound crossing into Mexico and they dont get stopped by customs or border patrol, they just drove right thru. Has anybody recently took a greyhound into Mexico? Do they ask for passport in 2019? Or do you just drive right in?

      Mario That's right. They subcontract to another bus company to deal with the border crossing. If you do this at night it feels kinda sketchy since it's colpletely different from what the video shows.

    • @gregthompson3481
      @gregthompson3481 3 роки тому

      @Michael Jose It's like going through the airport and like what they showed in the video. Your bag goes through an X-ray machine when you cross the border. I've crossed into Tijuana and Nuevo Laredo and they've never made me empty my pockets. But I've only crossed into Mexico on foot four times. The second time I walked into Nuevo Laredo, a soldier searched my bag. I drove into Piedras Negras and went in the "nothing to declare" line and wasn't searched at all. They had a dog at the border when I crossed into Tijuana the second time but it wasn't doing anything. You also seem mad concerned about this, if you're carrying you have reason to be concerned but if you have nothing illegal with you than nothing to worry about.
