    Wow this one takes me back Joseline ! Used to play snooker in that hall 50 years ago ! Amazed it’s still there ! I remember the Mc Donald’s at the end of your video used to be The Yew Tree Pub ! Bordesley green Rd still looks pretty run down ! That has’nt changed !

      I used to take the 97 bus towards Kitts Green (where I used to live years ago). I only had a bus experience of Bordesley Green . So it was interesting to walk along it this time.

      It was The Broadway pub, mate. The Yew Tree is in Yardley, on Church road.
      Edit: Just saw your later comment, lol.

      And then the Pelham pub was down the road, that’s gone too, and the Richmond pub has gone too.

    Looks like quite a rough and ready part of Birmingham with some decent takeaways! Here's a question for you Joseline, have you ever made a cameo appearance in any of your videos. Great to hear your Brummie voice when you said Hello!

    • @citiesthroughmyeyes

      Hello Richard Pearce, no I never appeared in my own videos. The day will come eventually but for now I like standing behind the camera and film people, buildings and places.
      "Brummie voice" 😄😂 Really? I'll take that as a compliment. Lol.

      @zayne Mal Birmingham isn't ALL rough, there are some really nice areas to live in the suburbs if you care to look hard enough, maybe the segregation is in your mind, People with lots of money live in the best parts, people with an average income live in middle upper class parts, people with lower incomes live in the working class areas. Many people from.lower income areas find ways to mobilize themselves through social classes and go to live in.the best parts of any city anywhere in the world, it's down to education, knowledge , motivation, perseverance and eventual success.

      @@musiclover5023 because compared to where I live now there is a night and day difference, Bordesley Green is a inner city area with a lot of really good people but if you took the time to do a bit of research you’d see that it’s one of the poorest areas of the city, and in my opinion from living there for more than 25 years I feel like the local government (city council) don’t really care about the state of the area and don’t invest enough money into improving the community for the residents.

    Birmingham and West Midlands has a lot of segregation and racism issues and multiculturalism doesn't work in that city or region.

      A lot of drug money in the area, I grew up around there and have still got friends around there.

    • @musiclover5023
      @musiclover5023 Рік тому

      @@ChronicCraftsman Not strictly true, there are a lot of Asian business owners in.the area , I used to eat at restaurants in the area, so your "drug money" crap won't wash it. Always the same old nonsense when people have success, others assume it just has to be drug money or some kind of criminal activity. So sad !

    • @ChronicCraftsman
      @ChronicCraftsman Рік тому +1

      @@musiclover5023 So because you eat in a few restaurants in the area you think that you know more about the place than someone who lived there for over 25 years and has spent another 15 years visiting weekly? I know that there is a lot of really hard working legit and religious people in the area, but I know for a fact that the area is the main hub for heroin for the wider region and generates ridiculous amounts of money which in turn gets invested into legit businesses to be washed, and in turn the community as a whole do benefit from it but there are some people who end up suffering terribly also.

    • @musiclover5023

      @@ChronicCraftsman I used to eat in the area, I don't anymore as I moved away from Birmingham, my point is that because of the drug scene the assumption seems to be that everyone in.the area with a business is "fronting" drugs. That's wrong 🤣! Lol 😆
