Nice job. With the seacocks, you can put plenty of grease on and just tighten down the bolts hand tight. Then loosely put the locking nuts on. Then, when you go in the water if you have any dribbles you gently tighten until it stops. If you tighten too much straight away all you do is squeeze the grease out. My Blakes can be moved with one finger and don’t leak. The cone should float on a bed of grease. Easy to back them off, add more grease before you splash. Keep on, keeping on…. Andy UK
Blakes seacocks, great fun. Always find that the larger ones the handles don't come off where the smaller ones it does. Yes, nobody seems to know how much Blakes Grease to put on the cones. That first one you filmed had a strange water tell tail running along the hull away from the seacock. MIght want to keep an eye on that when she first goes in the water.
Interesting style of seacock. So far I have only seen various kinds of ball-valves. Must be an older design. Good news about the keel. Did you think to check if it was loose when you got lifted our of the water or when you got lifted to remove the rudder? Both good opportunities to check that. Looking forward to what y'all get up to. Hope the weather gets better for ya. The wind is a good thing but not necessarily when you are in the yard working.
That would have been a really clever idea to check the keel, if I’d thought of it 🤦♂️ The Blake’s seacocks are decades old, but they are great and seem to go on forever if looked after. Mist’s are original I believe, from 1975.
Could be the funniest man(person) alive right here.

Nice one just removed seacocks from my boat maybe gonna try restoring them 😊
They are the best thing ever. I’ve not met one person that has anything bad to say about them yet

A water tell tale? You mean like a sort of discoloration of the hull?
