The viola is my favorite instrument in the world, but I had never heard of this Telemann concerto. I am deeply ashamed that I had never heard of a piece that brings out the viola's tone to such an extent.

As the second chair Viola I took great pride sitting beside my friend Alison who played the lead. It was an incredible and very memorable experience the song comes out of no where but it is indeed a classic.
Thank you for the music which doesn’t get heard often or at all, and it makes me a proud South African to see the beautiful King Protea, our national flower, in the bouquet of the soloist.

I just started playing viola again after a 14 year break. I am so glad I came upon this recording because to me, this is a gold standard performance. I love the phrasing and articulations. Great musicianship with the ornamentation as well! I look forward to relearning this piece, J.C Bach Concerto, then re-visit the Stamitz. Of course solo Bach, Reger, and all the lovely sonatas too! Brava Ms. Randalu!

I love this piece as I used to play the viola myself as a teenager, and this was probably the most ambitious thing I ever played. This is a lovely performance. One thing though, does anyone else think her viola looks bigger than average? I know they come in several sizes but this one looks huge!

My brother played this when he was twelve - it sounded almost as good as this, even though he used a much smaller viola. This viola looks like it's a 17 or 17 +. It sounds kind of treble for a viola that size. This is a magnificent orchestra.

I used to think Telemann's viola concerto was boring compared to Vivaldi's violin concertos, but this performance made me love the piece.
