It’s wild how much technology has advanced in the care of Spina Bifida and other birth defects. When I was born with MMC L5, S1 over four decades ago, we were at the cutting edge of advancement. I have recently seen several patients with my level of lesion walk without assist devices and have no need for VP shunt. Amazing! I’m beginning my journey to see how much I can improve my current condition even though I’ve lived a very blessed life already.
