I'm pleased to see the 'bug in operation. I suggest you use a set of goggles while riding. They'll keep your eyes protected and you'll convey the old-time vehicle image. Thanks for showing us the result of your work.
Awesome !! Cannot wait to see the Doodlebug in it's final configuration. I'm having nothing but trouble getting mine to run correctly. Besides the carb, I believe the distributor is not working correctly. I'll figure it out sooner or later, LOL....
Thanks for the inspiration. I’m trying to restomod my own doodlebug. It was a running ‘34 Dodge with a 1.5t timken but the prior owner sold the engine out of it. I talked him into including a ‘57 Desoto 341. Got the engine and trans welded in last week. Still waiting for my second trans to come back from the rebuilder. Your top loader axle was perfect for direct coupling. Sadly my front input is low enough that I’ll need a driveshaft. A bit disappointing because that’ll push the axle further back. Using bucket seats is exactly what I suspected. The problem is they don’t have the right look. Maybe I can bend my shifter to stay under the bench?
Sounds like a cool doodlebug! I have a 341 Desoto engine too. Cut up a '57 coupe years ago and saved the engine although it needs a total rebuild. Good luck with you project.

Usually I wear sunglasses all the time. I couldn't find them at that second and wanted to get the ride in before everything blew away!
Congrats! You did a good job.
Oh man that is so cool!! I am so excited for you with that awesome Doodlebug.
Thanks! Hoping to do some cool stuff this summer with it.
Well done sir.
