- Hello everyone !
I love forging hot steel. This is my second video in which I forge an axe stylized as Ragnar Lothbrok's axe from the TV series "Vikings".
I hope you will feel the Scandinavian atmosphere.

Thrilled to have found your channel! Amazing job on the axe AND you did an outstanding job filming the process. Great shots!
Thank you! I tried to get a good result.
Great Job, Bro...

Just beautiful, liked and subscribed.
Thank you! 😃
Great work as always.
Thank you!😃
Nota 8,2. Parabéns.
Thank you😉

Great your forge is Vevor
Thanks 😉
I need an axe like this! Great craftsmanship. These are the tools you leave your kiddos as family heirlooms.
A very nice comment! Thank you 😃
What kind of steel did you use?
1045 and O2 😃
@@dracoriansforge must be one tough axe! Do you use it much?
I think so 😃 I don't use it, but the customer for whom I forged this axe is satisfied .
An ax is always sharpened on wet stone. Newer on grinder.
Because?
@@dracoriansforge he doesn't know what he's talking about
Dont matter how its sharpened as long as its sharp bud
Damn fine work and video. Keep it up. Earned a subscription from this mediocre bladesmith
Thank you !

It's a great shame you didn't make it the traditional way and fold it over a bit. You just made an axe shaped object like most modern store bought axes, quite a shame.
As a blacksmith, i agreee.
Since when do you buy axes forged by blacksmiths in the shop? This is the traditional method - one of many. The folding ax will also appear in the future 😉 Any way to forge an axe is good, but it depends on what shape you want to get and what material you have.
@@dracoriansforge it really does depend on the material ay hand today, but if you studied a bit( pun intended) in the nordic viking age, their construction is of the folding method or variations there off.
Yes I know. But Ragnar Lothbrok's axe is fantasy - not historical reenactment😉
Can’t wait for you to post your video of you making one the traditional way.
Weiter so 🤘
Danke dir ! 😃
awesome build! damn fine work indeed!
Thank you very much! I'm glad to read such a comment😉😃
I've never seen hot metal move so little under hammer strikes. Four heats and it had barely changed shape. What kind of stock was that?
The material is thick. The video is not sped up. It''s 1045 steel
In many movies, blacksmiths speed up the process of forging steel because it's just boring
Dirty work
Yes... blacksmithing is a dirty job.😎
Great work 👍👍👍
Thank you! 😃
Thanks! I encourage you to forge. It's nice to have such an axe for your own use, especially if you like the series "Vikings"😃
@@dracoriansforge Well, I forged only the Slavic-Baltic axe, mostly I forge knives. But recently I was asked to make 4 checkers for my educational institution, this is a Cossack saber for flanking a fairly common activity in my region, of course, if you can call it that. Good luck in new projects and, of course, happiness😇
Very nice, keep going!
Thanks! I'm working on more movies 😎
Beautiful axe
Thank you!
