Couple of tips from an old A/C Tech - Spray some Raid around the electrical wires coming in (Not in the contactor/cap section) Sprinkle Amdro around the outdoor unit and finally, put 2 or 3 Moth Balls inside the contactor section. Ants hate Moth Balls, Love Amdro and Hate Raid. These things will take care of the ants so you won't be back next week with more ants in contactor.
Spiders love outdoor units. Got bit by something this summer on my hand that I kept having to drain due swelling, discomfort, redness, and heat at the puncture marks. Ended up getting a sac of puss out of each puncture mark and they healed up. No idea what got me. I try to remember these gloves in my bag when I reach down into units, but not always. Stay safe out there and thanks for the video.
Nice explanation; thanks for that. I might have trimmed some of the power wires to not leave so much bare copper, but I suppose no one should be messing around in there anyway...
Anyone else miss the unzipping of the Veto Pro bag? I also do not like spiders, any of them. Have been bitten and sent to emergency room. Same with scorpions, bees, dogs and snakes, each time a trip to hospital or urgent care. If you're in it for 4 decades it most likely will happen to you too. Fortunately i have lived to talk about it. Just another day in paradise 😊.
I ate part of a brown widow in my grapes here in Minnesota, and there was a big egg sack in there. eating grapes while driving, not paying attention. Let's just say I check my grapes now😊
we had a guy at work wo walked around with food in his hoodie pocket he pulled out a bag of sunflower seeds and another guy said let me have some so he takes a handful and just throws them in his mouth starts chewing them and says these are good nice and soft sunflower seeds then the other guy pours out some more and notices there are maggots mixed in his seeds he had put a chicken bone in his jacket pocket in past when eating wings why i have no idea and his pocket was full of maggots.
UA-cam stopped showing me your videos, I have to go to your page directly now to get them. They used to be the first thing that came up when I went to YT. Hope it doesn't affect your views if it's doing that to everyone.

the titan max contactor i bought has those screw terminals and i think it is only 30 amp they are a lot better contact than the screw terminals on some.
Your so funny...."any smoke alarms?" Oh how us viewers know that one!!! hahaha. Also why would you not check that rusty, knarley looking capacitor while you are right there?
Hey question I was on a call where the outdoor a/c unit compressor was failing and dropping out at 49 amps every 30 to 40 sec. We just changed the grounded compressor this past Friday the odu is now failing I requested the electricians check the meter and the power from the panel back to the disconnect they said all is fine I don't think so any help would be appreciated
Best of luck tomorrow stay safe in the storm
Stay safe in the storm. Thanks for making the video.
Nice work Curtis. Be careful with the storm.

Great video as usual! Stay safe during the hurricanes arrival. Looks to be interesting

Very helpful man, keep it up!
Thanks, will do!
Curtis thank you for all your help, RMP Pool Service Ca
Glad it helps
Great Job! But too much cooper wire exposed on the high voltage side of contactor. Need to cut that down a bit.
Or at least tape over it.
Great video,Curtis! Good explanation on the contactor!
Thanks! 👍
Hey Curtis from Leesburg, FL let us know how you did with the storm coming through there.
Well you got it ready to go. Spiders give me the creeps, I would have smashed it. Brown widow? Glad you did not get bit. Good job
Stay Safe Curtis 🙏
Great job Curtis. You stay safe boss👍✌️
gonna be good to put into practice tomorrow your generators you bought lol shoot some videos about the damages you might see
Ha ha The news media takes care of that for their ratings and awards!
Nice work man 😊
Thanks 😁

Spiders are creepy, venomous spiders are dangerously creepy.
Very good video
stay safe
carry some spider spray comes in handy just like hornet spray dose
Good job Curtis! That contacter you replaced looked fairly new. They need to spray those ants or you'll be back for another contractor next year. 😄
Or next month; we used to replace the contactor and spray some ant powder around, Red ants are the worst!

12:02 it depends on the brand. I've got 30 amp contactors with lugs exactly like the 40 amp.
I like the tutorial video today. Can we see more?
Sure
👍👍👍

Really. Turn on notifications. That might help. And make sure you’re subscribed
And don't use offensive language or Yahoo will get after you! LOL
@@HVACGUY Notifications are on, that's what's bad. UA-cam quit sending them to me. I can try turning them off and back on.

I’m thinking some gloves would come in handy. No pun intended.
Cats with gloves don't catch mice...

Y’all going to get anything from the hurricane? What about the pecan crops? Y’all got many pecans this year?
Coming right over us. We’re about an hour and a half from Tallahassee
Just a thought.., I would keep “chop sticks”, with me, to push in the contact.
just curious why the craftsman screwdriver is always the one used to discharge a cap?😀😀
kurtis wouldnt it be easier to have like a mini blower to clear the eletricals parts ?
What wire strippers do you use? They look super convenient!
Your so funny...."any smoke alarms?" Oh how us viewers know that one!!! hahaha. Also why would you not check that rusty, knarley looking capacitor while you are right there?
I was asking myself the same thing; he may get a callback on that one!
Call backs? Not if they didn't ask him to look at in the first place. It will generate another service call and that means more money.
@@JustinKais Not always;if you do the customer will badmouth you big time!

I would have replaced that cap one way or another. Yes I'm thinking like it's mine. Shop Vac?
Look at the condenser carpet…
Don't worry, if you wire it wrong it won't work
Be safe with Helene! She will be nasty! Have water and generator and full tanks of gas and batteries charged!
Who makes the pliers you are using?
Knipex

@@dfirth224 yeah they look for warm dry spots for nests.
