- Tyson Gay (born August 9, 1982) is an American track and field sprinter who competes in the 100 and 200 meters dash. His 100 m personal best of 9.69 seconds is the American record and makes him tied for the second fastest athlete ever, after Usain Bolt. His 200 m time of 19.58 makes him the sixth fastest athlete in that event.
The only man with a turbo that kicks at about 70m every race . The best 100m american sprinter.

Such a wonderful athlete. He has mastered the middle level high speeding. He opens up in the middle even with a poor start.
Hes the fastest LOOKING sprinter, notice he looks like his stride frequency is higher and hes floating on air at the last 20-30m.

Tyson Gay and Usain bolt were my favorite sprinters growing up, still are to this day. Pure speed.
Am a jamaican, however always loved and respected this man competes hard and he's just so humble.

The only problem with Gay is his start. Notice in most of these races, even though he wins them, his start is not that good. Had he the starting ability of Asafa Powell, he'd be around 9.56 - 9.61.

Even if Bolt had Powells start he would have definitely beat 9.58
He ran 9.71 (slowed down at the end) against Bolts 9.58
The only problem he had in that race was his acceleration and start. If he was able to accelerate like Powell or Gatlin in the beginning he'd be literally side by side with Bolt
Usain Phelps but bolt was looking around so imagine if bolt wasn't looking around when he ran his 9.58?
SPORTEC he does have the same speed. Not consistently cause his legs aren’t as long. A certain point usain couldn’t pull away. Tyson has blurry legs when he runs just a bad starter when he needs it most.
I liked his style. He had an amazing technique.

@@archiesutherland6127 Bolt's start was as good as a man his size could ever hope for. It wasn't an impediment toward Bolt winning. Tyson Gay on the other hand clearly could've had a better start, however he was always up and down in that department and often started miserably in some of the most important races of his career.
