I have just bought a Roland TR-707 after over 10 years using 707 VST instruments and 707 samples. I like it's lofi sound and the fact it's easy to program as well as the limitations of only having 16 drum and percusion sounds. I also have TR-505.
Nice demo, thanks for posting. I love the simplicity of the 707. Also the sounds are very punchy. The price of them seems to have doubled in the last couple of years, and in my opinion they are overpriced now. A korg electribe sampler loaded with some 707 samples is now a much cheaper option and far more versatile. But if you have a multichannel mixer with lots of outboard effects, then you could get the 707 cooking!
sounds great together with the 909. the 707 drum and percussion quality are timeless. only the limitations in the usabillity are worse but there ist still the TR8 with the New 7x7 expansion. :P

Ah, yes. Back in the days, when you spent hours on hardware programming. I sometimes miss those times. :-)
Tr 909 and 808 goes for $3-4,000 used, Tr 707 you get from anywhere between $4-500 used which is good.

I picked up a TR-707 for $50 from a guy who said it wasn't working. He had the wrong power supply! SCORE!!!!

Why does the 707 have two buttons for closed hats? Both seem to sound the same...
