Just got the new version for the 15€ discount, it loaded all my old projects from MB6.32C without problem, including my entire plugin library. It's a steal. And I love that it's available for Linux. And let's not forget the support for the Ardour devs, as it serves as the code base. Great stuff.
I'll make you a deal, Harrison: Allow me to map my plugins globally to my MIDI controller, so that it remembers the mappings every time I load that plugin in the future, and I'll make the switch to Mixbus Pro.
To be clear, not just per project - it needs to be a global for future projects. I need to be able to map encoder 1 to "parameter 1," but then to be able to tell Mixbus what plugin parameter the "parameter 1" knob controls. If I can't choose what parameter 1 means, then I'm stuck with a lousy mapping that I can't change. So it's two-fold: Global plugin mapping (plugin mappings saved in XML files in the documents folder) and also, a way to re-arrange the parameters to different knobs/encoders so that we aren't stuck using default layouts.
that is what a UCI can do regardless of software. All we can do is add it to the list of things to do eventually. Right now MIDI Learn is per session. -Nathan
Honestly the only problem i have is the eq/comp/gate thats loaded on the track is very small and its a big problem. I wish i could open them up like a plugin with a double click , so im thinking about going back to studio1 and use Harrison 32c channel.but I prefer to mix my project in mixbus32c if i could open my already loaded plugins
Raise the scale to something above 100% to make it bigger. I usually set my scale to 140% as everything is bigger. Try it out and let me know how you like it. -Nathan
I prefer having all knobs and metering info at a glance ( even in a small screen) than having to open and close plugins all the time. It’s way easier to have your ears focused while having an overall sight of the mixer. I can’t really mix on any other daw after getting used to this. And then, the sound… 🎉
@@HarrisonAudio I've been requesting a popup window of the channel strip for years which is the main reason I never bought it. Surely it's not a complex task to build a simple popup window that when clicked is a clear larger view of each strip ?
I have started to look on Mixbus more and more lately because Mixbus seem to be working on older and newer macs so you do not have to get a new computer all the time. I will not be using the Midi features at all and no plugins only real instruments, mics and amps. Short story Will I still benefit from getting the new soon to be released Mixbus?
Mixbus as tons of great editing and arrangement features for any audio or midi based session. Be sure to sign up for the mailing list and there are some options coming in the very near future you will want to take advantage of. -Nathan
@@HarrisonAudio Thanks for the reply, I own licenses up to 32C-7. I am not in to midi no more. Guess I just will have to wait and see what Mixbus 11 brings to the table.
I like Mixbus. Admittedly, I have not upgraded to 10. One reason is I am not sure which one I need. The problem that I have is, as a plugin drum user, I cannot use my Addictive Drums the way I need. That is to have each drum on their own channel. I can achieve this with another DAW that I have. Can I use my 3rd party plugins with Mixbus as it seems that I do not seem to have any Harrison plugins. Which I thought I had.
Much like Superior Drummer, Addictive Drums should have an option to fan out tracks when you create your MIDI track. Mixbus has been able to do this for many years. -Nathan
its an SSL UF1. You would want the UF8 for full control of Mixbus. You select a channel then choose EQ, Comp, Sends etc to show on the encoder knobs across the top of the unit. -Nathan
Hi, I bought MixBus 10 Pro and loving it. I run it on an old MacBook Pro mid 2012 Dual Core Intel i5 with upgraded 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD on Catalina 10.15.7. Do you think it will be worth it if I get the Macbook Pro M4 Pro ? I’m hesitant if it will really make a difference or not and worth the $$$$ 🙄
I saw the new M4 Mac Mini was $599!!!!!!! That is a great deal. I am still using my M1 Mac Mini in the studio and M1 laptop for mobility and I project them to work flawlessly for many years to come. People always wants to buy new software but neglect the computer they are working on. a 2012 is getting pretty old at this point but only you can decide if you want to get a new computer or not. I made the switch from a 2015 MBP because the fan noise was just unbearable when recording or livestreaming. The M1 computers are dead quiet and worth the upgrade for me. -Nathan
@HarrisonAudio thanks Nathan. I wasn't sure about buying this MixBus version until your reply . Could you tell us a couple (2 or 3) of features of 32c not included on this MB version. Thanks! i think I'll hit the trigger on this. 👍
I have mixbus 10 and whilst I really appreciate the philosophy of builtin it around the concept of analog console for an electronic dance music producer the workflow is quite cumbersome. A simple ask is a simple pattern sequencer and a detachable midi editor. Asked this whilst on mixbus 9 to Paul Davis on Twitter and the answer was a resounding no!!!
To be fair, Mixbus was created by normal guys that play real instruments in a real band so that has been the focus in its 15 years of existence. In V8 we added an Ableton Live style clip lauching to appease some of those type of users. I would like a sequencer as well just for the fun of it but I mainly produce country/rock music which involves recording real instruments. I would say produce your song in FL Studio (or whatever else you use) then export the stems and mix them in MIxbus. -Nathan
@@HarrisonAudio Just those two features would go a long way so atleast one can work fully in one DAW end to end. Would be appreciated if it ever happens in the near future!
Looks like there are plugins that can do this for you so you don't need a native option in Mixbus itself. Same goes for tuning vocals. Mixbus doesn't need it if other plugins can do it better. Hope that helps, Nathan
I have been using mixbus since version 2 and I still say that it is overly complex and are paying to use it is not straightforward at all every time I use it I give up I keep trying to use it and currently I have version 9 Much respect to those who understand it and use it on the regular
@@HarrisonAudio Yeah I just purchased.. now I gotta figure out how to use it. I took a quick peak into Mixbus 10 and it seems like LUNA may have adopted some its features.
If you grew up on flying analog desks due to the immediacy of everything, get this DAW for $15 now. If you are 'old skool', u will love it. It's an old skool analog thought process to use. I've been using PT and Reaper for years setting them up to act like this DAW comes 'out of the box'. Add $15 a month for the Slate/SSL/Harrison subscription, and you are set. I use way less plugins mixing with MB10, it just sounds better.
The standard mixbus10 for $15 right now plus the $15 a month Slate/Harrison/SSL plugin subscription package is the deal of the century.
The plugins are a good deal but Mixbus has everything you need.

Also my Behringer Xtouch still can’t be seen by your daw. Works in every other daw though…
Sure it can. Please email support with screenshots of your settings.

Is there an option to bypass the built in plugins ?( The eq or the compressor for example)
You can do that individually by clicking the EQ and Comp engage buttons.

Just bought mixbus 10 today. looking forward on it

Can I purchase the SSL EQ seperatly? Buy Mixcraft for 15 Euro and then the EQ? I already own those SSL Plugins - so the more cost is no option for me.
If you have the SSL plugin then you can add it to whatever track you want.
-Nathan
Is it working with all the ssl controllers uf8, uf1 and uc1 and can you customize the view from this mixer?
Not compatible with the UC1. UF8 works great for controlling the elements in the DAW.
-Nathan
Can I make or expand the view bigger on the screen to show the console more ?
How big is your screen and what part of Mixbus are you not seeing? Please email support with screenshots of your setup.

What is the controller sitting next to your mouse? Does that control every knob on the mixbus mixer? If not is there a controller that does that?
its an SSL UF1. You would want the UF8 for full control of Mixbus. You select a channel then choose EQ, Comp, Sends etc to show on the encoder knobs across the top of the unit.

Besides the 2 plugins, what’s difference MB vs MB pro?
Mixbus Pro adds the Gate, XT plugin licenses, SSL EQ and Atmos.

I’m having my Mac Studio at my studio 😅 and my MacBook Air m1. Both run amazingly well.
what happened wirh Mixbus 32C?, is it over? no more updates?. Nice price this MB version.
Mixbus32c is now called Mixbus and the old Mixbus went away. This means everyone gets the 32c EQ and 12 busses as standard.

Nah subscriptions suck. In that case might as well add a drum sequencer, piano roll, browser and just go full all out as a DAW.
Mixbus is not a subscription based. Pay for the license and use that version as long as you want.
