Hello, my station is 30minutes from my house. I have the vantage connect on the Davis pro 2 so will it upload data to weather link without me being nearby? Also I have a 60minutes service plan, but can I choose to store data say every 15minutes or does it have to be every 60minutes as that’s my service plan? Thanks
I am from the United Arab Emirates. I recently bought two stations (Vantage Pro2). Installations all went fine. Installed and connected weatherlink app with the device. But the climate is still not updated in the App. I am confused with stations and sensors IDs. Kept it as default ID1 at the beginning like 1,2,3 and 4 down. no results. Then I tried making it all up. ID8. is still not updated. How can you help me? It's been 3 months of waiting and I even upgraded the application to Pro. If you can help it will be appreciated.
hi, i was wondering if there is a way of displaying the data, as a monthly or daily total on the software rather than the 15 minute intervals the weather station is sending?..........im viewing the last 12months, but viewing it in 15 minute interval is time consuming
Very intuitive video. Would you mind upgrading it to reflect the latest WL webinterface including lowering the music a bit to make it easier to hear for non-US visitors? 🙂
You can choose an data interval of 15, 30, or 60 minutes on WeatherLink.com on the free basic plan. You can upgrade to Pro or Pro+ to get 5-minute or one-minute data intervals. Set this up on WeatherLink.com. Click the Tools icon (wrench) and with your device selected, choose Device Configuration., then click Edit Settings.
Nice overview. Three questions.. How often does the wunderground update poll? Do you need the Pro version to send email alerts based on alarms, where do you set the alarm conditions if you were to use a Vantage Pro 2 with IP data link (I'm yet to buy anything). Thanks
1. How often does the wunderground update poll? Wunderground polls depending on the polling interval that it is set to. For more information contact wunderground.com. 2.Do you need the Pro version to send email alerts based on alarms, where do you set the alarm conditions? In the new rollout of Weatherlink.com, simply login, select the wrench in the top right-hand corner, and click the notifications to set alarms. You donnot have to have the Pro version. 3. Where do you set the alarm conditions if you were to use a Vantage Pro 2 with IP data link? There are multiple options to set alarm conditions. Alarm thresholds can be set using the WeatherLink 6.0.3 Software after connecting to the software with the IP Dataloggery, by clicking on Setup-- Set Alarms. If these steps prove unfruitful, we will need to repair the unit. Please call us for further details. Technical Support: (510) 732-7814 For answers to technical questions or help with troubleshooting. We are open Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Pacific Time.
No, you set them on WeatheLink.com. With your system selected, click the wrench icon, then Alarms to set which alarms, and Notifications to set how you want to receive them.
@@davisinstruments when i click on my system (ve3bwp) and the wrench I don’t see an alarms option. I just get device and notifications. Is the alarms tab supposed to be at the top right along side device and notifications? Do i need to purchase a pro upgrade to get that option?
Sorry Brian, I should have asked what kind of device is sending your data to WeatherLink.com. You must have a data logger (not WeatherLink LIve as I assumed). In that case you set alarms on the console or in the WeatherLink Computer Software.
Hello. I am installing software on laptop. Can I change the latitude and longitude later ? I have approximate coordinates but won’t have exact ones until I install weather station. Thanks
@@davisinstruments thanks. Also should barometer elevation be the height of the barometer off sea level. My site is 13feet above sea level but the barometer on the tripod is another 4feet approx. So should I input 17feet ? Or is it more of an approximation or should be a very precise measurement ? Thank you
Hi Niamh. Set the elevation as accurately as you can -- it is surprising how little elevation can change the reading. But remember that the barometer is in the console, not in the sensor suite, so use the elevation of the console. For example, if the console is on the second floor, add that elevation to your setting.
@@davisinstruments thank you. I have the vantage connect, not the console.. so is the barometer in the vantage connect then? Or is the console the little white box ? Thanks
Yes, and sorry, you said that earlier I think!! The console is the display screen, which I don't think you are using. Use the elevation of the Vantage Connect.
We use the data from four VantagePro2 stations as part of our EPA stormwater permit requirements. Different people in our office use the data differently. Will we be able to have more than one person have access to the data?
Right now only if you share your user name and password. But you can manually export an Excel (CSV) file of the data to any email adresses. In the future we will enable sharing, which will be easier to manage!
is there a way to display rain amount totals for all weather stations you manage on one page? Instead of having to select individual stations? Perhaps a way to do more customization of views in the bulletin based on what the users specific needs are.
Joey, each device ID is shown separately. The only way you could get this to happen is if the stations are all close enough to be serviced by one WeatherLink Live. Our tech support rep Bruce can help you see if this is a viable option. Send your user name and device IDs to him at brucej@davisinstruments.com.
200 yards either side of the house. Placed in a East/ West faceing. Calibrated data over 400 yards. TRUEST READINGS!...note...No trees or other " Blocking obstacles"
Hi Aladanos, I take it you are using the WEB DOWNLOAD. There is one change that you need to be aware of. Instead of using the USERNAME, you need to use the Device ID. There reason is that WeatherLink 6.03 only supports ONE device per station. WeatherLink2.0 allows MANY devices on the same account so we need to tell WeatherLink web WHICH device. The device ID is unique to each device, so it works very well.
I have seen the temperature information before providing also the decimal places, with update to 2.0 I can see only the full temperature information. It says 23 °C instead of 22,6 °C or 23,4 °C, which is a clear difference! Why does Weatherlink no longer provide this data on the new "improved" weather site? The highly accurate Davis station is measuring with decimal places. This is really bad and has nothing to do with accurate weather monitoring, your sites are not showing, what the davis weather station is measuring. Therefore I am asking myself, why should I buy such an expensive Station, when the output on the software side is not completely accurate?
Currently, the default display resolution is set to the least amount of resolution for each sensor (whole numbers). Increasing the display resolution is easy. Click the profile icon, display formats, display resolution, choose 100.0. This will display the most amount of resolution for each sensor.
Thank you, I have found the solution in the meantime, but it would be really nice, if this feature would be more visible, it is really hard to find and it is also not clear to european users, what this function is about.
So after buying the highly priced data logger and the out dated weather link software, I have to pay another 50$ per year life time if I want to check the historical charts in the cloud? Hilarious. I regret so much having bought this PWS.
No Daniel! The new WeatherLink2.0 gives you the same abilities you always had with WeatherLink. Charting and graphing in the Cloud environment is a brand NEW feature we offer now for a low subscription fee. The other features in the basic FREE plan are much improved and in a beautiful format. If you do not what this feature, you can download your data to your desktop software to chart and graph as you always could. I'm sorry you regret buying your weather station, but I know what you have there is the personal best weather station on the market. I think once you get to know WeatherLink2.0 you will love it and will appreciate all we have done to give you a better experience weather watching.
@@davisinstruments what I was trying to explain, is that first of all you have to buy a completely outdated software (weather link) and then, if you want to have the same features but on the cloud and easily accessible from all the devices (not just one computer connected to the station) you have to pay again. If I would have had the possibility of not buying the computer software it would have been great. And after spending more than 1000euros for the PWS I am feeling completely cheated having to pay again anual fee for something that I have already purchased. And after all, if you want, we can talk about the weather link 2.0 mobile app and the forecast. Hilarious. Good job Davis Team.
WeatherLink Basic is FREE. You don't have to pay a cent, and can access all your current condtions on any connected device. If you want to see historical data you can download it to your computer just as you always could. This is just like original WeatherLink.com. If you don't like the computer software, you can pay the subscription to do the same analyses in the Cloud environment. (And you do not have to endure any ads!) I think you have made up your mind, Daniel, about our new baby, but we do appreciate your comments and will pass them on to our designers.

It takes 15 minutes to update wunderground, which is really scandulous in my opinion.
@Little Switzerland: Right - if we have to pay that much, it has to be improved much more !!
To trigger email or SMS notifications do the mobile thresholds also trigger email/SMS 's or is there a separate set of thresholds ?
Hi Brian. Both the Email and the SMS are triggered by the same set of alarms. The SMS does not have its own alarms.

Glad you like it! Uploading data to 3rd party sites will remain at 15 minute intervals.

One more thing: It would be nice, if there would be an option, to see the actual temperature also in a graph, not only the pressure.

In Addition to this, the update intervall for those data in the graphs should be set to one minute - better for nowcast tasks...
