i got amaze of how much effort you have put to do this video. i really needed that since i m about to do some costum changes on my tundra. appreciate you so much.
Great video! Thanks for taking the time to do it. It saved me time and almost certainly damage to my vehicle if I had had to experiment with disassembly when installing switches and routing wiring harnesses for after market lights....
Reminds me of when I rewired my 33' SeaRay dash panel. Swore I would never do it again but with your video I may just do it again if need be on my 2022 TRD Sport. Good job Brother!!
Do you know if you are able to replace the top part of the dash above the speedometer/center touch screen? I would like the leather one like in the platinum/capstone vs the plastic one on the TRD Pro. If you can or have, a video on that removal would be awesome! Thank you!
This is amazing. Is that possible to do a quick video show how to take out/slide off the rear mirror cover, i try to install a mirror tap for the radar detector on the tundra trd pro 2023. Thank you
Crazy amount of work! Smart though I don't know any one out there that has a video on this. You will be monetizing this video for years to come. Great way to pay for that pro!
I love doin this stuff! 🤣…it’s honestly not bad at all, if I wasn’t makin a video I can tear this whole thing apart and put it back together in a half hour, maybe less….looks way worse than it is, thanks for watching!
Thanks man, I appreciate it!…not sure about the engine, but stay tuned for the intakes and charge pipes, we’ll be changing those out in the very near future!…charge pipes are already here, waiting on the intakes to get delivered!
Grat video I was really hoping that I would get to see access to those speakers there in the dash but I guess I'll have to fumble around with that myself.
Thanks man, I appreciate it!… do you mean the speakers up on top of the dash by the windshield?… If so, they’re super easy to access… Take a plastic pry tool and pop the cover off, and they are right there, hope that helps!
Interesting… I was always wondering if it was possible to replace the 8 in screen with the 14 in screen in my SR5, and seeing how these are mounted that might actually be possible. Thanks for putting in the massive effort for this video!
No prob, thanks for watching!!…let me know if ya ever try to make the swap!…wiring may be different, but I’m honestly not sure….would be a heck of an upgrade!!
Have you tried yet? I managed to get a 14” screen and everything is a direct fit. The vents can fit inside the vent Frame on the 14” screen but it’s not a perfect fit. But the 14” screen functions perfect just like the 8” screen. The only problem is I could not adjust the volume. Not even with the steering wheel buttons. You need the climate control panel and the wiring harness that plugs from the back of the volume knob to where ever it plugs in at.
All the ports except one had a connector…I’m gonna make a short video showing the back of the unit up close, there’s been a few questions on possibly switching 8” screen to the 14” and what connections are different…thanks for watching!
Will you do a video taking out the map light/sunglass holder and also accessing the back window? I believe my rattle up front is the wire that is there for the dash cam and I think have another wire rattling inside the back window.
Yea absolutely, I'm going to be taking that off anyway to see about swapping the led chips in there, I'll definitely make a video on the map light area!...and I'll add the rear window to my list as well, can't make any promises that I'll get to that one really soon, I have a ton of videos lined up, but I'll get it done for ya!
I am considering mounting an"At the ready" gun mount right below the trailer brake. First, is it safe for fourn short screws?, Second, Is it a danger if the air bag depoys? Im not sure if there is an airbag below the stearing wheel or not. Thanks!
Hey Steve! There actually is an airbag under the steering wheel, so I would avoid that at all costs. Off to the side is ok, but not directly underneath it. And you’ll be fine with very short screws depending on location. Just double check behind the area you’re going to use before attaching, hope that helps!
What an amazing video! Thanks for detailed instructions. I’m about to install a Carlinkit box and want to put the device in the glovebox while running the USB-A wire to where you detached the dash at 11:37. What panels and pieces would you recommend on taking out to minimize the tear down?
@@NitroZ18Fishing I have my box coming tomorrow along with an angled USB-A to USB-C. Planning on fishing it through the little opening right below the bottom right corner of the screen, we’ll see how it goes.
I wonder if the piece at 11:35 could be interchangeable with the "pocket dash" found on the lower trims. That empty area drives me nuts in my Limited and would much rather have extra functionality. Thanks for a great video!
Hey there, I'm trying to find how hard it is to replace the center console storage box, do you have that breakdown? I was broken into last weekend, and they crowbar'd and split my console trying to get into my safe. I'm looking to replace the broken parts, but don't know how to get down to that level yet. Your stuff is good for taking the stick shift area apart, but do you have one of taking one of the box out? The box that the safe is sitting in. They broke/split the side of that on the passenger seat side.
Thank you for making this very informative video! Not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but Crutchfield has an open request for disassembly videos like this, not sure if they pay for content but with your step-by-step video, you definitely should. -- I'd like to relocate the front USB under the 14 in. monitor (the piece at the 25:26 mark), is it absolutely necessary to disassemble both driver's and passenger's sections or can I work up from the center console? Thank you again!
Thanks man, I appreciate that!!...I'll have to look into that, I've never heard of Crutchfield but I'll look em up, thank you!...and yea you don't have to do the whole dash for that USB, I actually have a video coming out showing how to do exactly that!....I moved/hid my Binize box cause my OCD couldn't handle it 🤣
Oh, and I can relate to the OCD thing, my wife says that what I have is called "anal-retentiveness" and relocating the USB is a must because I can't come to terms with using that front port.
Very cool! Thank you for this. I’ve taken apart some of these parts on the drivers side unsuccessfully tracking down a nasty rattle. Can the top of the dash (leather on my 22 platinum) be removed?
Thank you, I appreciate it!…the top of the dash can definitely be removed, it’s just some extra steps…I’ve actually never removed that part before but I’ve seen it done…just a little more involved, thanks for watching!
Not sure I'll ever have to take this apart, but this is a great video to show just how to do it! Side note .. do you have the .stl file available anywhere for the phone mount? I'd love to print that for my truck!
Thanks man, I appreciate it!!...I'm gonna tweak the stl a little more, a couple things I don't quite like about it just yet...as soon as I get it perfect I'll let ya know...haven't decided if I'm gonna sell them or not, I've put a ton of time into that darn thing, my OCD won't let up! 🤣
@@NitroZ18Fishing Agreed! After going through many iterations on the TRD Off Road grill camera bracket that my buddy and I designed, we even altered it after printing and using on my grill swap. It's a never ending cycle!
@NitroZ18 Fishing That was a great video. Do you have any suggestions on running wire from USB to glove box. I have a 23 Capstone with a Binize Box that I want to put in glovebox

Great video thanks for taking the time to make this! I haven't see anyone talk about adding the SR5 storage box over the passenger side glove box to the TRD Pro or other trims that do not offer it. Looks like a great place to store things for a passenger.. From this parts image it would be 55041B (and a few other parts) images.simplepart.com/images/parts/toyotaOEM/fullsize/a1_555165C.jpg. Any reason this wouldn't fit on a non SR5?
Thanks Joe!…it’s funny you mention that, I’m considering swapping that piece out myself…I can’t confirm for 100% certainty that it fits, but I can’t imagine why it wouldn’t….the way all these pieces snap in, I would think they’re completely interchangeable…I’ll keep the channel posted if I swap out any of those pieces, I’m thinking about either adding that little “tray” area, or swapping my dash out to the red pieces…I’m not a fan of red seats which is why I went with the black interior, but I do like the red dash accents!
Thank you so much for producing this video. You saved me from breaking a ton of clips!
