i still have the casette with this track + nemesis the warlock track aand giana sisters track after that, -recorded by playing the games loud on tv and putting the stereo recorder side by side next to tv lol
I agree, Rob Hubbard is also my favourite chipsound artist although there were 3 artists on the top in my opinion: Rob Hubbard Martin Galway Jereon Tell
I agree, but the C64 had a LOT of great other musicians as well: Matt Gray, Fred Gray, Ben Daglish, Martin Galway, and in later years we had people such as Reyn Ouwehand and Jeroen Tel as well
Fuck Bleach, Drink Drāno Yup :) - agree totally - I think I sidelined Rob H a bit because of the things his replay routines could do, they all kinda took the SID and made it work for them, but Rob's stuff always impressed me more from a technical standpoint.
THUNDER... THUNDER... THUNDER... THUNDERCATS HOOOOOO! Rob Hubbard composed an excellent soundtrack 🎵🎶 for THUNDERCATS on the Commodore 64 😺👍🕹️. So did David Whittaker on the Amiga 😺👍🕹️. I still have this game for my Commodore 64 as a tape version (Encore) and Amiga 500 (Ten Star Pack). 😺👍🕹️
amazing track. rob is a genius. wish he would come back to the sid.... hated the game just would put this on for the music whilst tidying my squalid bedroom.
if you could get that square wave ay bass and put it in a sin chip you'd have the pefect chip! SID wins hands down because it has better drums and pulse width modulation.
Spectrum and C64 both great versions. This has more effects and a feline feel. Spectrum has a deeper bass line. Both are better than the the 16bit versions.
That is a constant on Commodore. Amazing music, and tons of mediocre games. And if you hte plataform games, then more to add to the list. But you could plug it in only for the music... And crete your own games, or use the cool ones, appart from anything a computer can do those days. My love for commodore computers is greater than my love for the games, lol
Mediocre? I dont know which ones you played but c64 had tons of amazing games. Tons. Unlike today uninspired mobile phone games on nintendo switch or nth rerelease or remake of this and that on xbox or sony
Rob Hubbard is just a genius, he gave atmosphere to games that otherwise would never remain in our memories
The majority of games Rob Hubbard did the music for were terrible, but the publishers knew if they hired him they'd sell far more copies.
He is absolutely a real genius. Only reason he is overlooked is because of the technical limits of the time.
i still have the casette with this track + nemesis the warlock track aand giana sisters track after that, -recorded by playing the games loud on tv and putting the stereo recorder side by side next to tv lol
LOL I did that too. And they were so bad. :D But good enough
Bought this game purely because Rob Hubbard's name was on it!
I agree, Rob Hubbard is also my favourite chipsound artist although there were 3 artists on the top in my opinion:
Rob Hubbard
Martin Galway
Jereon Tell
what!!!!! where's Tim Follin?....and Matt Gray?....
Chris Huelsback
100%
Amazing music. Rob Hubbard My Lord
Some people are just good at music.
+ChildOfTheSun32 When it comes to the SID chip though, very few can make it sing like Rob Hubbard.
I agree, but the C64 had a LOT of great other musicians as well: Matt Gray, Fred Gray, Ben Daglish, Martin Galway, and in later years we had people such as Reyn Ouwehand and Jeroen Tel as well

In the words of Rick Mccallum, "It's so dense...there's so many things going on."
Just Rob Hubbard, creating another absolute masterpiece with spit gum and scotch tape. Utterly perfect.
This brings back some great memories
SID is perfectly suited to this music. I love Rob Hubbard's electric guitars and the use of ring modulation.
This music gives me goosebumps!
me too
This particular sid gives me very good vibes. _O_
THUNDER...
THUNDER...

THUNDERCATS HOOOOOO!

Also called 'the bridge' in music writing
Superb
A very good tune of the Master called Rob Hubbard. :)
Hubbard is basically a god
100% agree
this music is badass
This is a kickass music. Really makes me wanna try the game.
Absolutely blastning.
I could listen to this for hours without ever playing the game. xD
Still awesome!
amazing track. rob is a genius. wish he would come back to the sid.... hated the game just would put this on for the music whilst tidying my squalid bedroom.
I remember that game being kinda hard but it was awesome all the same. I had the Amiga version. Another awesome tune from Rob Hubbard right there!
great Epic track.
I always love commodore 64. My first computer :)
It was my second computer, but my first was also a Commodore computer as well, (The Vic-20)
Great.
Who knew Sepultura were inspired by the start of this theme on Refuse/Resist.
sid music is unique and peerless!!
This game was awesome. The soundtrack was ace, but the game WAS awesome. Yeah, I said it
c64 rocks
Yup, the Spec 128k Ay tune is better on this occasion. Somehow the C64 version sounds... forced?
Still good though. Just not as good as Spec 128k.
really?....its a joke.
Ugh no comparison....C64 all the way!
He made that chip sing.
I have an original boxed copy of the Amiga 500 version. It sounds nice but I definitely prefer the SID chip to the A500's MOD music.
hey everyone should check out his work in Road Rash, the track Pacific Coast is similar to this, well the intro at least!
@ivaerak I used to do that too!! respect :)
if you could get that square wave ay bass and put it in a sin chip you'd have the pefect chip!
SID wins hands down because it has better drums and pulse width modulation.
Thunder Thunder Thundercats Hooooooooooooo
A game this bad, doesn't deserve a music this good!
This game was still better than The Last V8, which also had awesome music for a terrible unplayable game
agree. the a500 mod version is also pretty good, but the spectrum 128 sounds a lot worse than both thesid and amiga version imo.
I remember the box art for these old games was better than the game graphics.
The song's awesome.
The game's a bit crap honestly.
As is the case with a lot of C64 games.
Like many things in Life dude :0)
come on everyone, do it together... THUNDERCATS, HO!
Spectrum and C64 both great versions. This has more effects and a feline feel. Spectrum has a deeper bass line. Both are better than the the 16bit versions.
I disagree, Atari ST version is great and the best version for me.
This reminds me of the 5:00 NEWS... Or maybe JROTC.
haha always the way
are you serious? the spectrum 128 version sounds so thin and beepy compared to the sid.
Ringtone on my smartphone...
I dunno, Matthew Simmonds (4-Mat) is pretty high on my list too.
That is a constant on Commodore. Amazing music, and tons of mediocre games. And if you hte plataform games, then more to add to the list. But you could plug it in only for the music... "my love for commodore computers is greater than my love for games"... wow, i think i totally agree with you
Mediocre? I dont know which ones you played but c64 had tons of amazing games. Tons. Unlike today uninspired mobile phone games on nintendo switch or nth rerelease or remake of this and that on xbox or sony
Bombjack 2 stole the music of this cartoon!! come on people!
I don't blame you; the music was great but the game itself wasn't too good. :)
Well, it was 1987 sooo.
And I just now realize I responded to a 12-year-old comment. xD
@mrsethcorbin :)
i remember the game. i remember the cartoon on tv. both were awful! (i.m.o.) WHY waste such an awesome tune on something like that?
Not as great as the Atari ST version to me.
