It's good to remember that Vlad isn't just an old friend, but an old friend Jack put in the hospital and only recently forgave him. And maybe Jack picks up on that and is trying hard to be friends with him again
You can tell he’s really trying and it’s sad Vlad doesn’t pick up on that.
I know Jack is dumb but Vlad really could’ve had an easy “in” with the family and became Danny’s cool uncle. All the fun without the child rearing.
@BelBelle468 unfortunately Vlad would never just himself stay the Cool Uncle. He desperately wants Maddie to divorce Jack and marry him instead (and actively tries to break them up).
@@declanmckenna6854 yeah. Basically all of his “issues” comes from his entitlement and thinking he deserves the life Jack had. And yeah, in a lot of ways he’s better than Jack. But Jack does actually care for others deeply and his strengths lie in making tools for Maddie and others to use. And we also know that Vlad is capable of realizing this, in the other timeline.

Everyone who has went on power trips etc all simply needed to lose everything to contemplate to understand themselves again in the right way, some longer than others...while some are simply irreversible

Freakshow I will say is 1 of my favorite villians along with Vlad & Ember, this show really does have the best villians in designs & just in general

To be fair, Superman doesn't just wear glasses, he also hunches his shoulders and tries to make himself look smaller, and changes the tone of his voice and they way he speaks. I really like the old movie scene where Lois finds out his identity, and all those layers he had on slip away one by one.
Ohhhh, they're really subtle touches, I love that! Kinda like how Bruce twangs his voice as his billionaire identity and Batman has a gravely voice
Not just hunching his shoulders in some continuities, in some he straight up compresses his spine to actually be shorter, and also constantly slightly vibrates at super speed so he looks a bit more different on camera.
Exactly! Also no one is going to look at Superman in all his Superman glory and go “yeah I bet he works as a reporter” most people in the dc universe don’t think he HAS a secret identity, as far as they know he lives down in the arctic circle

Heck, one time Lex Luthor hired someone to investigate Superman and received the report that Superman and Clark Kent are the same person and angrily fired the investigator.
Because Luthor cannot comprehend the possibility of someone like Superman "lowering" himself to living as a mere mortal because Lex himself would never think of doing so if he was as powerful as Superman and he constantly projects his own megalomania onto Supes.
Remember that episode of Lois and Clark when time traveler spells it out for her? "Galactically stupid" and all that.

Jack beating Vlad's ass is very satisfying and we have the introduction of the Goons in White. Freakshow's orb is a terrifying item good thing it was destroyed

Slight Spoilers: For context, there are a buuunch of apocalyptically powerful ghosts in later seasons, and that’s a profound understatement for at least one of them. The fact they could’ve been mind controlled in different circumstances is terrifying.
Freakshow is just...*chef's kiss* Don't get me wrong, Ember is great, but she only has that one song that hypnotizes people; shes basically a one trick pony with Twilight Sparkles voice. (See what I did there?) Freakshow has more of a reach to vulnerable youths and adults who don't know better, and that's why he's arguably more terrifying. Imagine you were in Danny's place for a second: You unluckily get roped into this freakshow circus promising to unlock your true potential and turn you into the bad person you have always wanted to be. Seems like a dream come true, right? Heh heh WRONG! You might come to your senses every once in a while and consider that this may be a bad idea, but once you've entered the circus tent, it's all over. Now, you're forced to partake in dangerous circus acts that have both you and your loved ones fighting for their lives. If you happen to snap out of it, too bad! Freakshow will remind you through that staff that you have no choice.
Ember my have the one song but that still feels true to life too. Lots of artists are popular from just one hit and not much else beyond that. But between the two, I would indeed be more afraid running into Freakshow than Ember

- The Groovy Gang & Scaredy Cat consists of Andy (Fred fused with Shaggy) voiced by Rob Paulson, Fran (Daphne fused with Velma) voiced by Grey DeLisle (Daphne’s voice actress), & Scaredy Cat is their Scooby Doo parody even is voiced by Frank Welker (Fred’s voice actor & Scooby’s current voice) & even has a Scooby Snacks parody called “Kitty Krunch”, but with him being a cowardly Tiger he is also like Cringer / Battle Cat from “He-Man”
- The Extreme Ghostbreakers consists of Brenner who is voiced by Kath Soucie while being named after line producer Deirdre Brenner & Sullivan voiced by S. Scott Bullock while being named after writer Kevin Sullivan, & their name is a play on Ghostbusters but they maybe a parody of the related series called “The Extreme Ghostbusters” (great series)
- The Guys in White are a parody of the Men in Black which also go by an alphabet codenames & consists of K & O (both voiced by S. Scott Bullock)
- The title of “The Million Dollar Ghost” maybe a reference to "the million dollar question", “The Six Million Dollar Man”, or the “Million Dollar Baby”

In regards to Danny’s identity as Fenton and Phantom, you have to remember that everyone thinking Phantom is a ghost. Lived, died, and never moved on to the afterlife ghost. Fenton is seen as a normal living kid. Even if they have similar features normally people would think Phantom was like some long lost ancestor or just happen to look like Danny Fenton. Plus Danny acts differently as Phantom than he does Fenton. And besides, outside of Vlad, no one else know it’s possible to be alive and dead at the same time, to be half human and half ghost.

He’s not a ghost or demon or undead, just a pale mortal who relies on his knowledge of ghostly things and artifacts he collects. It’s what makes him so cool, Danny had to fight a mortal human

- Freakshow is voiced by Jon Cryer who is also known for playing as Duckie (Pretty in Pink), Alan (Two & a Half Men), was Lenny Luther (Superman IV: The Quest for Peace) but later became Lex Luther (The CW Arrowverse), Jim (Extended Family), Felix Faust (Justice League Action), & many more. While he does seem like the Joker from DC comics his circus reminds me of Professor Screweyes’ circus from “We’re Back ! A Dinosaur’s Story”
- Lydia is voiced by Tara Strong while as for her name & tattoo powers are a reference to the song “Lydia the Tattooed Lady” sung by the Marx Brothers
- Elastica is voiced by Grey DeLisle
- Sam parents are Jeremy who is voiced by S. Scott Bullock, Pam is voiced by Laraine Newman, & her grandmother is Ida who is voiced by Kath Soucie
- Noticed that one of the paintings they stole is the Mona Lisa
- Jack calls Jeremy "Thurston" which is a reference to the Gilligan's Island character Thurston Howell III aka “the Millionaire”
- Tucker uses “A Farewell to Arms” by Ernest Hemingway to hide his PDA
Vlad's a great villain in this series. And Danny being mind controlled by Freakshow was creepy.
3:02 Think about it, you are a human living in a world that has other-worldly creatures who can visit at any time. There is a distinct separation between human and ghost. No one in their right mind would ever assume there was an individual who could be both ghost and human. There exists no public precedent. (There is Vlad, but he keeps his cards close to his chest).
Why would anyone assume that a ghost was anything more than a ghost?

It's a shame Vlad has never been able to get past his trauma and fixation on Maddie. He could've had his own family by now.
And plus, if he did he could’ve had the family he wanted. He’d be the uncle to the family for sure since Maddie and Jack really care(d) for him. And he’d get to be the cool rich uncle for Danny and Jazz. He’d get the fun aspects of taking care of a kid without the bad raising aspects lol
@@BelBelle468 I feel like it'd be interesting to see the dynamic between Danny/Jazz and Vlad's kid(s). I have a feeling that the latter would be the stereotypical rich snob and possible the main rival instead of Vlad (who'd ocassionally pop in). My question is whether or not Vlad would be a better person or if he'd still end up being a villain some other way.

Given the semi-canon "not shown in show but talked about by the creator as what if ideas" nature of second generation "quarter ghost" hybrids inheriting ghost powers that manifest at a young age, imagine an "uncle" Vlad who mentors Danny, then both of them mentoring the "cousins" when they start developing
Ugh them getting their hopes up for good payoff is killing me. Warning guys: everything goes downhill in quality in season 3 cause butch hartman didnt agree with the writers who wanted a more serious overarching story and they ended up leaving. Season 2 is the peak and lore and character gets retconned by the creator in season 3 lmao
I hope someone who’s got patreon tells them. Cuz they even commentated on how ppl dislike Butch and how the show is good now. So learning why ppl hate Butch for what he did to the show would help them get it.
That said, I think certain episodes in S3 are good. Like the plant one. But in a way, I doubt Butch was super in charge of that one. And I don’t think the final episode is that besides some plot contrivances.

Vlad needs/needed someone to make him realize he needs therapy. He has an obsession and severe grudges. It takes all joy of his successes away.

I'm so glad you guys watched control freak. That was one of my favorite episodes in season 1. I mean the way Danny snapped out of it and saved Sam from falling off the train and saving her live when he's still in the red eyes. That's my favorite part in the world 💖
Jack beating vlad was awesome! Truly the best thing ever. Also i enjoy freak show he is a great villian. Looking forward to future storylines with him. But guys rest assured vlad will be danny's ultimate arch enemy.
