I love the fact that Jack and Finn are more focused on making videos that educate and bring attention to important problems in our world today rather than just making videos for views. They've really taken the audience and viewer group they garnered to bring light to important things such as Global Warming. I love this!

It's so frustrating to me that when a popular UA-cam channel like Jackgap starts posting about things that matter--not just stupid challenge videos--they lose all their viewers. Global climate change is SO important, but everyone would rather watch some useless, completely stupid tag. No one cares about anything important, and THAT's why we continue to harm our globe. If this video is a fraud than explain to me why when you walk outside it is a record high temperature or even a record low. Why are there more tornadoes in Texas, why are storms becoming stronger. Climate change has always occurred from the beginning of time (you are exactly right it is naturally occurring) and is influenced by CO2 emissions not caused. Climate change has always existed in its purest form, the ice ages and the fires, but the social construction of climate change is skewed. It is not climate change that is the issue, it is the fact that our climate is changing at a faster rate than ever seen before. You are right, there is always a possibility that government officials are using climate change to their advantage to push tax laws but that does not mean that climate change is fraud it means that the government officials who are using climate change to their advantage are flawed. Walk outside and realize that what you call fraud is what you are surrounded by and living in today.
I appreciate the twins for making this but I need to address this: a lot of people are not understanding that they're grown adults and are now content with their life. Finn is finally doing something he obviously is passionate about and jack is travelling and doing a bunch of projects. UA-cam is not their biggest priority right now and I respect that, they're actually doing more with their life while making a huge impact on the world and people (like us.) too many youtubers are dependent on their channel and Jack and Finn aren't, they actually have plans. Jacksgap being apart obviously reduces the content. Please keep that in mind. They are not dead. And Jack, your gap is an amazing place.
Isn't it obvious that Jack won't be uploading as often? If you were a true fan, you would easily be able to pick up the uploading pattern of his channel and understand that Jack's videos aren't something that can be recorded and edited in one sitting. His projects take time because now he's pursuing important topics, not just simple Q&A. Plus, there's some information on his other social media accounts. So no, I don't think either of the twins owe the fans anything.

I grew up watching you guys and initially subbed because of your looks as a lot of girls did but I came to laugh with you guys at the challenges and loved to see how you guys were growing your channel into something different. Using your following to help the world is incredible. I do miss the old content of course. But I get it. You're older. That's not what you wanna do anymore. +George Braithwaite Although I love your attitude the changes we've made won't be "Something of the past" for hundreds of thousands of years. The damage we've already caused has not even begun to make itself known to us and even if we change what we're doing right now, we will still see sea-level rise, increasing temperatures, changing ecosystems and hundreds of other effects over the next couple of hundred years. Once the climate is changed it takes thousands of years of natural feedback mechanisms to return the climate to a stable state. I hope that doesn't sound as though I am attacking you, it's just that I study this at uni and I want people to understand the depth of this problem that we are facing :)

One of the things I love most about you both is how selfless you are. You do things to help others and the world, not out of greed or for self-centred motives. Keep doing what you do, you've really inspired me to want to help make the world a better place by helping to raise awareness about important issues across the globe. I want to carry this out as my job when I am older, being a photojournalist. Also you've inspired me to keep taking action in the now. Hopefully one day Climate Change and many other world issues are brought to an end.
Really disappointed that they didn't take this opportunity to mention how going vegan is the easiest and most powerful thing each person can do individually. Instead of just blaming big companies (eventhough they should take the blame) and putting all the responsibility on them, which is easy, take some responsibility yourself.

It's annoying how all these "old" fans are complaining about how they aren't posting as often and the videos are boring. I disagree, I love the projects Jack is taking on. At least the twins actually pursued their dreams and now, they are taking on topics that are actually important. You unsubscribing is just a representation of how immature you are. Jack and his girlfriend went vegan some time ago. Personally I feel they'll target this in a separate video so it focuses on just the one issue rather than complicating things and chucking it all into one. Well, I hope anyway!

So they are aware that animal agriculture is the number one cause of climate change and going vegan is the number one solution, but they still chose not to talk about it. If they wanted to get to the root of the climate change problem - it's animal agriculture. We know it, they know it, but they still chose not to talk about it - you call that raising awareness? Many young people have followed you and you have influenced them with your insight and knowledge. Your piece on mental health was inspired and got many people talking. This video on Climate change is superb. It is however the last video you have given to the world. The time is right for you to return... you owe it to the people who have supported you, who have followed you and who have worried about you to come back and tell them what has been happening in your lives. This is a very interesting and informative video. Great work. In general your video's are amazing. However there is one thing I'd like to add to this. In order to overcome climate change caused by humans we not only have to switch our energy source from fossil fuel to renewable energy and we don't only have to recycle or save water by only showering 3 minutes a day and turning the tap off when not needed. What we also have to do in order to overcome this issue is to stop consuming fish, meat and dairy. I kind of think that people forget this issue (the issue of the meat industry and its impact on climate change) nor have thoughts about it as firstly no one speaks much about it and secondly not everybody wants to hear it. If you want to change something you will have to stop eating meat. But still all good that one is doing for something bad to change is a beginning and also very helpful.

But they could be continuing to use this platform to educate on environmental and/or social justice issues. Theyve become too precious with this channel and wont release anything unless its of strictly 'proffessional' quality. The whole advantage of youtube is that it gives a voice to anyone, regardless of their means, so its a shame that they seem to have created some kind of stifling production standard to which they must adhere. Someone, I suspect, is a perfectionist and only wants to present their very best but its important to remember that this message can be communicated a variety of ways, the most effective being not necessarily the most resolved or perfected. They do an amazing job imo which is why I hope they will continue to find new and interesting ways to contribute to this subject! Be great if they looked at animal welfare and veganism as a relevant intersecting issue!! ;)
The problem is the people, the subscribers. On their newest videos, there was always people saying "I wish they were like before" you know, before when they made silly videos and collabs with other youtubers. These people didn't care for their new content about the environment and social issues. They called them boring. Jack tried to change his channel to a more educative channel, he wanted to explore his filming skills too by actually doing something good like talking about the climate change and such. But again, his subscribers didn't appreciate his new videos. They wanted the stupid videos where they made pranks or talked in their room and laughed at silly stuff. Jack grew up, he matured but his subs remained immature. You could notice the huge difference of amount of views his educative videos had vs his old silly videos. I think this among many other things made him realize that UA-cam wasn't for him if he really wants to do what he wants to do.

I’m wondering the same thing too but based on Jack’s IG, he’s busy travelling, experiencing life and pretty much shifting his career toward photography. That’s what I can gather. While Finn is in NY studying architecture I think. I just wished he’d at least post a quick video update to let us know if the channel would be on hiatus or at least a word on social media. Something like what Casey Neistat did when he planned to stop posting regular vlogs. It kind bums me that he left 4mil subscribers in the lurch like this.
As I watch this I hear it's raining outside. In February. During my 22 years of living on this earth I do not remember a one time it would have rained in February, not this kind of pouring rain. It's always been snow and ice. The winters have gotten only warmer during the past 5 years. It makes me incredibly angry and sad

As for normal weather, somedays it just happens. You can't look at it year by year, but many many years. Climate always changes, but not this much of a change i believe.

If this video is a fraud than explain to me why when you walk outside it is a record high temperature or even a record low. Why are there more tornadoes in Texas, why are storms becoming stronger. Climate change has always occurred from the beginning of time (you are exactly right it is naturally occurring) and is influenced by CO2 emissions not caused. Climate change has always existed in its purest form, the ice ages and the fires, but the social construction of climate change is skewed. It is not climate change that is the issue, it is the fact that our climate is changing at a faster rate than ever seen before. You are right, there is always a possibility that government officials are using climate change to their advantage to push tax laws but that does not mean that climate change is fraud it means that the government officials who are using climate change to their advantage are flawed. Walk outside and realize that what you call fraud is what you are surrounded by and living in today.
I appreciate the twins for making this but I need to address this: a lot of people are not understanding that they're grown adults and are now content with their life. Finn is finally doing something he obviously is passionate about and jack is travelling and doing a bunch of projects. UA-cam is not their biggest priority right now and I respect that, they're actually doing more with their life while making a huge impact on the world and people (like us.) too many youtubers are dependent on their channel and Jack and Finn aren't, they actually have plans. Jacksgap being apart obviously reduces the content. Please keep that in mind. They are not dead.

Isn't it obvious that Jack won't be uploading as often? If you were a true fan, you would easily be able to pick up the uploading pattern of his channel and understand that Jack's videos aren't something that can be recorded and edited in one sitting. His projects take time because now he's pursuing important topics, not just simple Q&A. Plus, there's some information on his other social media accounts. So no, I don't think either of the twins owe the fans anything.

+George Braithwaite Although I love your attitude the changes we've made won't be "Something of the past" for hundreds of thousands of years. The damage we've already caused has not even begun to make itself known to us and even if we change what we're doing right now, we will still see sea-level rise, increasing temperatures, changing ecosystems and hundreds of other effects over the next couple of hundred years. Once the climate is changed it takes thousands of years of natural feedback mechanisms to return the climate to a stable state. I hope that doesn't sound as though I am attacking you, it's just that I study this at uni and I want people to understand the depth of this problem that we are facing :)

One of the things I love most about you both is how selfless you are. You do things to help others and the world, not out of greed or for self-centred motives. Keep doing what you do, you've really inspired me to want to help make the world a better place by helping to raise awareness about important issues across the globe. I want to carry this out as my job when I am older, being a photojournalist. Also you've inspired me to keep taking action in the now. Hopefully one day Climate Change and many other world issues are brought to an end.
Really disappointed that they didn't take this opportunity to mention how going vegan is the easiest and most powerful thing each person can do individually.
Instead of just blaming big companies (eventhough they should take the blame) and putting all the responsibility on them, which is easy, take some responsibility yourself.

The cinematography was far beyond beautiful in this video, truly amazing.
This is a very interesting and informative video. Great work. In general your video's are amazing. However there is one thing I'd like to add to this. In order to overcome climate change caused by humans we not only have to switch our energy source from fossil fuel to renewable energy and we don't only have to recycle or save water by only showering 3 minutes a day and turning the tap off when not needed. What we also have to do in order to overcome this issue is to stop consuming fish, meat and dairy. I kind of think that people forget this issue (the issue of the meat industry and its impact on climate change) nor have thoughts about it as firstly no one speaks much about it and secondly not everybody wants to hear it. If you want to change something you will have to stop eating meat. But still all good that one is doing for something bad to change is a beginning and also very helpful.

+Stefanie Kai I can'r remember who it was, but I believe at least one of the twins are vegan and are very well aware that veganism is revolutionary :) I can see why they are holding off from making a video about it though; they would need to be precise and thorough with all their information and facts to try and limit the amount of people hacking at our throats trying to prove us wrong and doubt our every word and motive ahaha
+Marina Diamandis I didn't know this, that's great :-) I get your point, however, I think that this shouldn't be a reason not to make people aware of the real problem. There will always be those people who just don't want to understand but there are also the people who, very much, want to be educated. To be quite honest .. I am extremely disappointed that I haven't been educated about this issue before I turned eighteen. Actually I kind of coincidentally became a vegan and I wish I would've earlier.
Stefanie Kai Yeah I agree with you, I wish they mentioned how veganism would greatly help restore the world, especially environmentally, even if a large portion of the audience disagreed. The point I was trying to make in my previous comment was just speculating why they didn't mention it :) I probably didn't make that too clear, sorry for the miscommunication.
you guys should be given more credit on how you've transitioned to just a normal youtube vlog into something bigger, and more meaningful. I'm glad how you use your influence for the better especially to your large audience.

But they could be continuing to use this platform to educate on environmental and/or social justice issues. Theyve become too precious with this channel and wont release anything unless its of strictly 'proffessional' quality. The whole advantage of youtube is that it gives a voice to anyone, regardless of their means, so its a shame that they seem to have created some kind of stifling production standard to which they must adhere. Someone, I suspect, is a perfectionist and only wants to present their very best but its important to remember that this message can be communicated a variety of ways, the most effective being not necessarily the most resolved or perfected. They do an amazing job imo which is why I hope they will continue to find new and interesting ways to contribute to this subject! Be great if they looked at animal welfare and veganism as a relevant intersecting issue!! ;)

The problem is the people, the subscribers. On their newest videos, there was always people saying "I wish they were like before" you know, before when they made silly videos and collabs with other youtubers. These people didn't care for their new content about the environment and social issues. They called them boring. Jack tried to change his channel to a more educative channel, he wanted to explore his filming skills too by actually doing something good like talking about the climate change and such. But again, his subscribers didn't appreciate his new videos. They wanted the stupid videos where they made pranks or talked in their room and laughed at silly stuff. Jack grew up, he matured but his subs remained immature. You could notice the huge difference of amount of views his educative videos had vs his old silly videos. I think this among many other things made him realize that UA-cam wasn't for him if he really wants to do what he wants to do.
kirika20 you are so correct. I didn't see that side until i saw this comment your right we're not treating them nice like let them do what they want. They probs left because of how us fans pestered them into not making 'good content'. They want to do what they want although we will miss them...

I’m wondering the same thing too but based on Jack’s IG, he’s busy travelling, experiencing life and pretty much shifting his career toward photography. That’s what I can gather. While Finn is in NY studying architecture I think. I just wished he’d at least post a quick video update to let us know if the channel would be on hiatus or at least a word on social media. Something like what Casey Neistat did when he planned to stop posting regular vlogs. It kind bums me that he left 4mil subscribers in the lurch like this.
As I watch this I hear it's raining outside. In February. During my 22 years of living on this earth I do not remember a one time it would have rained in February, not this kind of pouring rain. It's always been snow and ice. The winters have gotten only warmer during the past 5 years. It makes me incredibly angry and sad

+mmeerip climate changes all the time, but you do have a point. We used to get so much snow like 30 years ago to an extent that the snow we get today looks like inches compaired to earlier dates. As for normal weather, somedays it just happens. You can't look at it year by year, but many many years. Climate always changes, but not this much of a change i believe.
