    Church Chronicles🔥🔥🔥🔥. Definitely been through and have met many people with similar experiences. The traps, the manipulation, the mistrust, the abuse of authority, the pseudo church politics and unwillingness to discuss biblical matters, and the loss of friendships, oh and also the unjustifiable keeping of holidays for the sake of tradition, are some of the main reasons that people remove themselves including myself. We know the church is within us but still we also understand the strength in fellowship. Really enjoying this series and of course the beats are fire.

    Listen I have followed you for years, I have been playing in Church since i was 10. I am now 38 and still playing in church but believe me when I tell you I have stood toe to toe with Pastors because of their self pride arrogance and sheer complete disregard for the gift. I have also been the subject of the sermon and have been the talk of so much controversy because I did what I thought God required of me. Here's the reality, I found a church that finally understood me, who took the time to minister to me. Although its an older choir and older congregation they accept me and the pastor and i have a great relationship. I have played for nearly almost 30-40 churches since I was in middle school till now. Each had their own identity but what i learned was to take pieces of the good and formulate my identity. I have been guilty of being called to RnB or too "secular" whatever that means. Both Jazz,Gospel, and RnB are staples of the black church and the reality is Doc you find somewhere you feel comfortable. I know its easy to quit, I did for some time too, sometimes you need to leave the "doctrine" folk that find all the thing that don't fit their image of what Christ is. My home pastor told me that the only way some folk change is if they die. A stark contrast to what most people want to believe. I've had pastors jealous of the music ministry cause the choir was gaining more attention despite us supposedly working for the same God and doing it unto the Lord. I've had pastors mad because I couldn't be at their every call, despite going with them to second services when nobody else would. Here's what i learned, we as musicians, we as the brotherhood & sisterhood of this honorable fraternity of musicians are gifted with great responsibility. It's our job to lead the worshipers into the very presence of God. The Walls of Jericho don't fall without a praise, the people of God cant hear from God fully if their is no praise, why? Because he inhabits the praises of his people, that means he lives where we praise. I didn't intend on turning this into a sermon but I feel very passionate about all you have said. I understand and all I will say is theirs a spot at the table Doc, find your place and eat the good of God's glory. I will tell you it was the church that persecuted Jesus, the world didn't care. Thank you for sharing and love the videos keep them coming doc.

      Thanks bro. It's really good to hear from someone with shared experiences. I'm not at all against anyone playing for church or being a part of it. But I also don't believe it's wrong to not be a part of one. I believe that the majority of the ministry God's given me to do is outside of the church. I totally agree about the walls of Jericho. But that wasn't a church situation. There are walls that need to come down all around us and we can see that when we look at the world around us and how the music has been used to pollute it. When we look at the music industry, it's easy to see how the problem is so much bigger than just what's in the church. I'll be honest - If I met a pastor who led by the Bible 100% (or as much as possible), I might go to the church where he pastored. But I have yet to find that. And he doesn't have to meet MY standards...He has to meet God's standards of what a pastor truly is. The first thing that will make me even give a pastor the time of day is if he'll tell the truth about tithing. If he can't start with that basic thing, I don't want to hear anything else he has to say because he's robbing God's people through manipulation. The Bible clearly says that if you want to find where evil is coming from, look for the love on money. Out of respect for people in church (many of whom I know personally), I left a lot unsaid in this series. But I need to go ahead and make a few more videos. I know we're on the same team and I do believe you're where you need to be. But I also believe I'm where God has me right now for a reason. Thanks for sharing bro. God bless. 🙏🏽✊🏽

    Very interesting set up - I was gripped by the track you were laying down and your testimonies 🔥🔥🔥. Man, those are some amazing testimonies! Have you ever looked for a church home, I'm talking about some place you and your family can go without you having to play? I think if you found a place that you felt was right for you and your family, it would probably be ok to play at too. I'm just thinking out loud, I totally understand where you're coming from. And you're taking the higher road by not naming names or locations - not sure I'd be able to do that 🤣. And lastly, that's another sweet track you created!

      I appreciate it. You're always welcome to ask me anything bro. Yes, at one point I did look for a church home. But even aside from the reasons stated in these videos, I have some biblical reason why I don't want to be affiliated with today's church. I'm going to eventually talk about those reasons, but there are some teachings that are so erroneous that I would almost say the majority of what we call the church now isn't even really the church. So at this point, I'm ok with reading the Bible with my wife and teaching our kids. Nah, I'm not going to name names, but I'm pretty sure some of them have seen or will see these videos 🤣. It's a lot of Yahweh's Levitical children that has experienced being used by the church and its sad. If you look at how the Temple was made with Moses in Exodus every person that worked in and on the temple was taken care of in different ways. Everyone had a portion even if it was Yah Himself. A lot of people aren't ready to give up something that for years has meant family and the celebration of Yeshua. Understandable, however, it's good to know the origin of why Hol-i-day is preferred over Holy Days. The devil knows how to distract. I often wish the church taught more on Rosh Hashanah and the feast of trumpets. I must admit, I myself go back n forth because of the memories of my family who have gone on to glory. Also, the love you feel being grateful for Yeshua being born. It's true thou, he was born sometime in the spring/summer months. Anyway, I am sorry for what they did to y'all brotha. Humans are fickle in and out of the church.
    The music was dope tho!

      Exactly sis. The problem with a lot of the musicians (and others as well) that I've seen is we can't just "shut up and play" and get a check (whether it was about the truth about things, or constantly trying to do things to enhance the church when the pastor wanted no parts of that). The majority I've met were much too loyal for that and people could see that loyalty from a mile away. And they abused it. Because of that, I saw a lot of musicians get bitter and try to "use" the church in retaliation. Total distrust between musicians and the church.
      As far as the holidays thing, I totally agree. It's something we all deal with in the best way we see for our households. But before we can know how to handle it, we have to know the truth about it and that's something the majority of the church doesn't want to deal with (the truth). I would never "judge" anyone or tell anyone what to celebrate/not celebrate. I don't even talk to people about it. But I just ask that people respect my decisions. And that's the problem. They've always somehow found out and it blew up into this huge thing. So I just found it more peaceful to not be around them.
      I appreciate it sis! And grace and peace to you!

    That was heavy…and gravely disappointing. Not being a professional musician, it makes you not want to be one. Uh… too much to unpack. All I can say is this. Look at the first church, Christ and His disciples. Did they get it right? No.. one was only there for violence against his enemy. Wanted money and one denied Him. In the Book of Acts Paul went to church home and church leadership recalibrating them. To the church in Ephesus, Corinth, Ladiocea… this I have against you. Paul even told one church is their no one amongst you who can judge a matter. Churches have always gotten it wrong. Leaders have always gotten it wrong. Paul chastised Peter for how he treated the same ones he sat with before Jewish leaders visited… Jesus commands us to do that which is unnatural to us. Men love your wives, wives submit to your husband and also, do not forsake the gathering of the congregation. Sigh, my encouragement is to go to a church where you listen and NOT play for the church. Every artist don’t have to serve the church in their gift. Again there has never been a perfect church. Don’t believe me, check Revelations. He says one is lukewarm so he spits them out. Ouch. Not great but not bad either. Just something is righteous. Again I’ll pray for you and me. It’s a heart matter He’s working on us…

    • @melotheproducer
      @melotheproducer  Рік тому +1

      A lot of those scriptures you listed, I would encourage you to go and read them in context because they actually are reasons a person should not go to certain churches. For example, you talked about the lukewarm church. God is so disgusted by that church that he says He will spit them out because they're not hot or cold, but a mixture of the two. (I definitely wouldn't want to go to a church that even God wants nothing to do with.) Also, I think you're confusing God speaking to the churches (in Revelation) with Paul. But in both cases, they were telling them what things in the churches they needed to change because they were flawed and God wants His church (His bride) to be perfect. Yes, we'll always have flaws, but we're supposed to continuously strive to do better. And when Christ died on the cross for our sins, He became our perfect sacrifice. He took the place of the animal sacrifices that were flawed under the old covenant. So when God looks at the church now, He wants to see perfection (Christ). But if we sin willfully, it says we make Jesus's sacrifice invalid and that He died in vain. This is why Paul was going to and writing to the different churches...In large part, he was writing to tell them how to do better. How to be be that perfect bride for Christ. He even told them to exhort each other. (That means to strongly encourage to do right.) He also said to admonish (reprimand) each other.
      And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. (Ephesians 5:11 "And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them." Bro, please read that whole chapter. It's short and that would address a lot of what you said.) Finally, he tells us plenty of types of people to walk away from, to have no fellowship with, and to reprove. This is something I'm definitely going to have to address in another video because this is something a lot of people have questions about. But one thing the Bible never says to do is to stay in an abusive relationship or to go back to your abuser once you get away. It doesn't matter to me whether I'm sitting in the congregation or playing keys...My point is that I want nothing to do with a system where they're purposely hurting people. And the Bible says I don't have to. I'm going to go into more depth in another video. I appreciate your feedback bro! 🙏🏾

    • @Blacksonaudio
      @Blacksonaudio Рік тому

      @@melotheproducer as always in love and respect brother. I think we’re saying the exact same thing. My point was there is no perfect church. In Revelation the Spirit speaks to the churches. He gives both praise and admonishment. Same as Paul gave the churches in the Epistles. I would never tell or ask anyone to stay in any church home
      They can’t sit under the leadership. Again, no perfect people. No perfect church but I sorta feel like this fits ““My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”. Who knows… maybe the words I’m sharing are for me. Remember I told you I’m in search of a home also.

    • @melotheproducer
      @melotheproducer  Рік тому

      @@BlacksonaudioBro, you know you're free to share your thoughts anytime. And yes, we have to remember the grace aspect because we, in ourselves, cannot be perfect. We will be flawed unto we're no longer in this flesh. The perfection I'm speaking of is us having been redeemed through the perfect sacrifice. And I see that's something we both agree on. Now the thing I have to decide for me and my household and you have to decide for you and your household is this - What do we do with that information? If I decide to meet and fellowship with and my family at home and you decide to be a little more longsuffering and continue to go to church, neither of us is wrong. We're still brothers in Christ who made the best informed decisions for our families.
      I think sometimes we (myself included) feel that if someone else takes that biblical information and make a logical and informed decision as to what's best for their family, we feel we have to make the same exact decision or that one of is wrong. But everyone's situation is different. You might have a true Bible- based church right down the street. And I might have drive 2 hours to get to one. Or, some might simply be stronger and be able to handle some things others can't, so they can simply stay in church longer. (I've literally seen a young lady run out the church when she heard them intentionally speak a lie. I wouldn't have done it that way - I would've just not come back, but she wasn't wrong. She was a little younger, emotional, and not quite as strong.) But no matter what, we have the same love for each other as brothers. (I'm preaching to myself as I quite this btw.)
