      I'm interested in the Rise but worried about the size,,I am 5'9" so the medium should fit ?? , I have ridden the large but the stand over is high and cranks a little long , how good a fit was it for you.

    Great review... so much so I bought a 2022 without riding one. Every granular aspect covered in this review I've found to be true. I did go with the H15, for two reasons. 1. price point & 2. Suspension. I did switch rubber to a 2.6 dhf WT 3c exo and 2.5 Agressor WT exo. Our backyard in Truckee is alot like the Reno peavine test area in this vid, with a plethora of volcanic rocks. This tire combo set up tubless works amazing. I'm coming off a Hightower which I love, until now... this chassis is spot on for aggressive trail riding. I could not be happier. Quick background on me. age 61 been on mtbs since 1981, I'm an average climber and above average descender. The Rise offers a uphill flow opportunity without being constantly in the Red. Life is too short to be on sub par recreational equipment! Anyone thinking about a Rise... I'd say go for it! Well done again and thank you!

    Perfect, this is THE best & most thorough review of the RISE out there, YAH!
    One might add: the H-Series is Aluminum, weights a tiny tad more BUT comes even with a bigger battery, the display as a standard and at an even less price! Basically even more astonishing...!

    Awesome Longterm Review... I sell the Orbea Rise in NZ and have been riding my M10 for a few months now. The Levo SL was my go too bike until now. Elevation and giving it a nudge determines the battery range on this beast, from 30km to 65km in trail mode (43nm).

    Key phrase was power-to-weight ratio, the Orbea Rise is prefect example of what manufacture can product. In the future manufacture will allow customers to order how much Nm power and battery size, which will allow a customer to customize the weight of the eMTB. Some riders want a 40lbs eMTB and others will want 50lbs eMTB. My eMTB is 54lbs and I have no issues with the weight, I am just getting more of a upper body work out:)

    I have a 500w Pedigo Ridge Rider EMTB. My husband has a Sondors EMTB and a Scott Genius EMTB. I'm 66 and have just begun riding this summer. l was looking for a second (backup) bike and found the Orbea Rise. I tested an extra-large frame (I'm 5'5") and the geometry is SO much better than my husband's (he's 6'2") Scott extra-large! We had the bike shop ship the only medium frame from one of their other shops to our local shop for me to try...I'll take it for a spin on Thursday. My husband is ready to buy it for me today but I just can't get past the $11,000 + $1,000 tax price tag, UGG!! I'm a true-blue beginner and LOVING the trails but not sure how technical I'm going to get starting out at my age. Once you've ridden this bike it's very difficult to go back to the heavy beasts out there...my bike is about 55 lbs...I weigh 117...It's nearly half my weight! DO NOT TEST THIS BIKE unless you plan to be disappointed with every other bike you test after...thanks for a great review!

    Man… you guys pretty much have me sold. I don’t go for crazy technical descents, so don’t need a heavy duty rig, or the weight it comes with. I just need a little help managing the climbs, which sounds like that’s what this bike is all about. I mean if this gets me out on the trail more often, instead of me avoiding riding because I’m dreading climbs, distance or keeping up with my fitter friends… why not?

    Excellent review. Best review for Orbea Rise specially comparing with Specialized electric levo. Having thoughts of getting one, been a long time if I should get an electric bike but always having 2nd thoughts because most of them are heavy and the lightest one cost close to $10k like the Specialized.

Didnt realise just how good the reviews were. I didnt want an eMTB because they seem heavy and really like cheating, the Rise salves my ego in that it can be ridden with the power off and still climbs quite well, so I dont have a range Anxiety ether. Will have to get m head into the tuning setup on the E-Tube software though as the previous owner had all the settings really really low. cheers

The tests I've seen the SL Kenevo doesn't get the same range as the SL Levo which is kinda expected considering it's a heavier Enduro focused bike with longer travel, this thing seams more comparable to a trail bike which I would expect to get better peddaling performance.

On inspection I found that the teeth on the Vault hub were rounded along with the pawls. Clearly the hub is not fit for purpose on an ebike and I do not understand why Orbea are fitting standard mtb components on ebikes!!!
    The loads incurred on an ebike rear hub are massive compared to that of a conventional bike. So at considerable expense (£450) I have changed out my rear hub to DT Swiss who actually make ebike compatible hubs.

    I don't get why reviewers still quote range in miles instead of elevation gain.

    Is there a preferred way to either message you directly about questions or concerns about this bike? I have been a rider for a few years now and i've been wanting to get into ebike. But I am dumb when it comes to these and was wondering if you could help me out with questions, concerns or if you know of a good bike to fit my needs, as I have physical issues and etc.. one of the specialized bikes you were comparing to I was looking at in the shops and they weren't very informative about it. But, I was looking at the 8k version not 13k. Because my budget is pretty bleak haha. And I think you said this is a 29er, I ride 27.5 is it an option to go 27.5? Or is it better to go 29er and how much different in feel would it be to go from 27.5 to 29? If it helps i'm on a rocky mountain thunderbolt I think i'm 140 front 130 rear it's a trail/enduro and I want to get an equivalent ebike to what mine is or upgrade. My biggest concern is how much power I can get to help with climbing (my weakness) so I'd like more than less.. but I don't understand the finer details of battery and output. But, I would get the range extender for sure maybe not at first. But, i'm also afraid of losing my nimbleness I currently have.. but if there's a better way to discuss all my questions as this is just a few things please let me know

    These bikes prices have so much risen that now it s better buying a forestal cyon or syrion which is lighter and have a really dedicated motor (1.7kg) still 60nm and 360w but with 150 or 170mm travel!

    Great review. I LOVE my Rise. I'm on the side of appreciating the stealth e-look too. I forget I'm even on an eBike on the descents. If you get one, and it has an e*Thirteen carbon crank, make sure to add some red (not blue) Loctite to the spindle screw or your crank might fall off (mine did along with many others). • @robmccall5017
      @robmccall5017 2 роки тому +1

      Its appr 3 Kilos heavier and the Battery dont last as long, you always have to carry a full size spare Battery to keep up to the Rise!

    • @Vanadium
      @Vanadium 2 роки тому

      @@robmccall5017 huh? Where do you get those information? The R.E 375 is their Enduro and this one weights 18,1 kg for M. 375WH that is 15WH more then the orbea has. Both have the same Shimano motor so the Rotwild should run longer. The R.X. 375 weight is for this year 1,2kg more heavy to the 2020 R.E.375 model.

    • @robmccall5017
      @robmccall5017 2 роки тому

      @@Vanadium The Rotwild is 19.5 Kilos with eqal Components and the Range is shorter due to the full Power Motor! To get the same Range You will have to carry a 2. full size Battery Pack.

    • @Vanadium
      @Vanadium 2 роки тому

      @@robmccall5017 85nm profile is max setting with that range you are referring to. It makes no sense to say the range is shorter if you use the same 60mm profile on both bikes.
      I also have found reviews who used the same test track and sorry to inform you but the Rise did die a few km sooner at max setting. It was competing again against the r.e and r.x 375 both had their 85nm cranked on. So they get further with more torque. Where did you find the range of the orbea rise? Don't tell me you look at the manufacture page..
