What can you say about jewellery, make up, and watch?
1. Jewelery - keep it minimum. If wearing a statement piece in the neck, hand or ears, then avoid anything big elsewhere.
2. Make up - to enhance your features. Not to shine. Red lipstick is fine at work, but also watch how the others are at work. Be in Rome as the Romans, but in style.
3. Watch - wear a watch that fits your wrist, and doesn't exceed it's diameter.
Power dressing for me
If one is wearing indian kurta and jacket as part of formal wear, should a dupatta also be used .. kindly reply
Hi Bhavaani. It depends on the cut of the jacket.
In most cases, I wouldn't reccomend wearing a dupatta as a jacket will act as a stiff layer to show power and influence.
Ma'am what you described about the Indian wears for office, I exactly cary the same dressing style in my work place , but recently in a job interview they rejected me just because I am not comfortable to wear western dress. And one of the most interesting thing that I have enough qualification for that job, but still that there eyes goes on my dress and my religion.
This is the reality of our INDIA nowadays.
Do you watch Pakistani dramas? There dresses are so work appropriate. I too wear indian dresses but they are on another level . Nd don't worry about others. I Wear Indian wear out of choice not due to any restrictions.
Yeah wearing I Indian wear is a big deal. No UA-camr are promoting it in formal and elegant ways. They are promoting it as party and festive wear for their monetary benefits.
Good you dint get into that company. It isn't the right way to access candidates, expect if you are in PR where you need to meet certain standards to represent the brand.
