i LOVE that they show the Riddler's flood again from a POV to take any cool factor away, to really get across he's a generational PoS, as in not an anti-hero or underdog or voice of the voiceless. BCS did that in how it reframed Breaking Bad, the show Barry does that. It's good to see creators be more active in indicting their at-times entertaining characters.
its actually very interesting. in order to "stick it to the oppressive ruling class!" he brought about a literal atrocity on the common folk with no path to actual lasting change or peace. crazy that this is literally happening right now in the ME and there are so many people rallying behind these "riddler" types who would sacrifice everyone just to do inconsequential damage to their perceived oppressors.
In the Batman, Carmine strangled Maria Kyle and Anika. I think Carmine is the Hangman but I think Sofia will become the Hangman herself and accept the title since she can’t escape people’s judgement.
Don't forget he was trying to kill Selina the same way. Dude is responsible for 3 strangled woman in one story AND he's in the flashback episode next week? Super sus.

Sofia is insane now, but she's that way because of Arkham and what her father did to her, not before. I figured she wasn't the Hangman after episode 1 and was certain of it after episode 2. Oz only shows any shame when he interacts with Sofia. Part of him meant it when he told her "No, I owe you." Combine that with the fact Carmine enjoyed choking women to death (we know of at least two he did that to from The Batman) and you have all the evidence you need to draw that conclusion. Further Oswald clearly also betrayed the first guy he drove to Carmine, so he could move up. He glossed over the details to Vic when he asked because he does have genuine regret there as well.
While I follow your logic and it sounds plausible. I doubt that they will do that, imagine the backlash from fans. That would like we hear reports of people being killed with fear toxin by a villain called Scarecrow, and then interduce Jonathan Crane, as a psychologist being blamed for it, only NOT to have him be the Scarecrow. Fans would feel you took a dump on the comic book lore.
Simone asked about "states" in Batman stories. The US is very much a key element in many Batman stories, particularly during cases that take him to other parts of the country or to another country entirely. As early as the 1940s, we saw Batman sometimes taking trip to Washington D.C., London, New York, Los Angeles, or other places, and it is known that WayneTech and Wayne Enterprises have offices in California. Originally, Poison Ivy was said to be a native of Seattle who moved to Gotham later. In the 70s, it was established that Gotham City is located off the coast of New Jersey, a less than two hours south of New York City and about two hours north of Metropolis (which is off the coast of Delaware, although the TV show Smallville and some other adaptations put it in the mid-west). In DC Comics, California is not only the home to Los Angeles and the cities we know but also Coast City where the Green Lantern named Hal Jordan lives. The Flash's home of Central City is on the border of Missouri, whereas Keystone City (home to the original Flash of the Golden Age) is on the other side of the border in Kansas.
The ficitonal Cities Coast City (home of Green Lantern Hal Jordan), Star City (home of Green Arrow) and Gateway City (base of operations of Wonder Woman for some years) are located in California. The Teen Titans had their base of operations in San Francisco for some years and Aquaman lived for some years in Sub Diego, a sunken version of San Diego.
Some Batman stories talk about Chicago (where Gordon initially transferred from in “Batman: Year One”) and others place Gotham in Rhode Island, New Jersey, even Connecticut.
8:25, yes other states exist in the DC universe. For example, Superman is from Kansas, Green Lantern is from California, ane the various versions of The Flash have been from Chicago, Ohio, and Missouri
In The Batman, it's implied that Carmine Falcone has killed a bunch of women before, and he strangled three different women in that movie. He probably had his daughter take the fall for those murders.
To your comment about Batman in other cities and states, I mean sure. All the time. Team ups and all that. He goes where he needs to. Now one of the cool things to think about is where the various made up cities of DC are. Central and Keystone cities are twin cities that the Flash patrols. They’re in the Midwest and mirror Chicago and Detroit. Star City is Green Arrow’s turf, west coast US but not California.Maybe Oregon or Washington state. Pacific Northwest really. Coast city is Green Lantern’s spot. ( Hal Jordan GL ). Totally an LA type of place. I don’t know where Gotham is really. I don’t think New York State. The NYC still exists in DC. Then again Cali has LA and San Francisco so why couldn’t New York have two maybe even 3 major cities? ( Depending on where you think Metropolis is)
Also regarding the Hangman thing, Sofia is the Hangman in the comics, but it's not like she's been this iconic villain for decades the way like, riddler or penguin or joker are. She was only the hangman in a single series back in the 90s, and hasn't shown up since, so from a fan perspective, there's not a ton of character love that they need to be mindful of.
I have a strong suspicion that Carmine was the real Hangman; we saw in the film that he had psychotic tendencies towards strangling women (Selina's mother and her friend who dated the mayor), Sofia might have been maneuverered somehow to take the fall.
@@madselmvig1457 I'm not familiar with the Hangman as a villain, so I'm not invested in maintaining an exact rendition if it serves the overall story. Sofia seems to reject the assumptions people place on her, so I'm eager to see an episode dedicated to her backstory.
If im wrong then so be it; but another way to interpret sofia’s "im not the Hangman” line is by seeing it as her saying that that’s not who she is as a whole, like imagine if the roles were reversed and oz was the who delivered the line (example: "and im not the penguin”) because even though people call/referred to him as the penguin that’s not how he wants people to see him. Just my opinion.
Hangman in the comics _is_ Sofia, but you shouldn't be worried about the way they've changed things really - pretty much everything that Reeves did made a mess of the source material, and this show is actually doing a really good job of taking that and doing a _much_ better job with their own interpretation. Given daddy dearest was the one with a penchant for strangling the ladies, I think Sofia was _deeply_ betrayed by her family. Only Alberto stayed loyal - hence why his death means so much to her.
8:30 yeah constantly, but they focus more on the fictitious cities that kinda replace the big cities in the US, like Gotham, Metropolis, Gateway City, Star City, Central City, National City, Coast City etc, and they all reside within "real" states.
Yes "the hangman" is a real character but maybe Sofia is frames for being the hangman, maybe the real "hangman" is her father, he was the one who killed those 7 women
If the Hangman has a mask in this universe, Sophia could have been framed or something. Maybe her dad or someone else was the real Hangman. I don't know anything about the character from the comics
Completely wrong on oz manipulating Vic. He was listening and asking and caring just like he said the old school gangster did in episode one. And why he was so hurt at the end of ep when vic told him he can’t leave cause oz wouldn’t let him. Show has been so great.
Wathing the shows just reminds me of how crazy my Italian family is. Even though the mafia is long gone (so to speak), all the stories I grew up with. Even now some of the olde surviving mafia family members are out there and not trustable. Or they think they are still somehow special in today world. Now they are nobodies. Even on my moms side where one of the cousins was a former russian mafie princess, she is old and still thinks she is respected. But she lives ina dumpy apartment now by herself. Living out her glory days in her mind.
Don't read the comics till after but THEORY and THEORY only, what if Alberto was killing women. Remember in the first episode he was a playboy who had women always around him and Oz "He's a drug addict and I think he has a sex thing too" what if Alberto killed those girls. And Carmine was protecting his son, his heir over his daughter. And out of guilt that is why Alberto would visit her all those years.
Names of other cities and states come up in Batman comics, but I can’t think of any instances where the state that Gotham is in is named. In fact, I believe the license plates in this show just say Gotham. I guess that, since Gotham is bases on New York, you might be able to assume that Gotham City is located in the state of Gotham?
All the best manipulators mix lies with the truth. I think Oz is mixing the truth of how he feels with things he knows people want to hear. I think Carmine was the real Hangman. He was established to have a thing for killing women by choking them to death in the movie. Sophia did something that Oz told Carmine about that caused him to frame her for his crimes. However, I think Sophia will embrace the identity by the end. 10 years in Arkham has messed with her mind, and she sees the fear she gets from it.
I think they had to leave Sophia. She already doesn't trust Oz and finding out he's working with the other family will only make it worse. We have already seen Sophia kill without thinking twice but I do think she took the fall for her father for some other stuff
"Wouldn't it be bad to take a character and make them not do what they did?" that's right George, Hollywood would never take an established character and change their backstory/gender/name/personality/nationality/race 🙃
I'm not sure if Sophia was being literal when she said she wasn't the hangman. She may have meant it as I'm more than what people say I am. However if she is being literal it would make sense because in The Batman Carmine strangles to death 2 women, those being Catwoman's friend Anika, and Catwoman's mum, not to mention that he also tries to strangle Catwoman herself near the end of the film. It would be incredibly dark but if this is true it means Carmine set up Sophia to take the fall for the murder of her half sister's mother. I know they have said Batman will not make an appearance in the show but what if Catwoman does?

I think they had to leave Sophia. She already doesn't trust Oz and finding out he's working with the other family will only make it worse. We have already seen Sophia kill without thinking twice but I do think she took the fall for her father for some other stuff
"Wouldn't it be bad to take a character and make them not do what they did?"
that's right George, Hollywood would never take an established character and change their backstory/gender/name/personality/nationality/race 🙃
"And there's the girl that's into him, on the left." - You mean Simone? 😉
Hello Simone and hello George please reacts The Black Stallion (1979) Revenge of the Nerds (1984) Dick Tracy (1990) The Crying Game (1992) and Somewhere in Time (1980)
So it’s been like a year I think it’s time to write that 60% off as a loss
letsgoooo
Riddler really said, "I'll show those rich people by hurting poor people the most!" What a dumbass lol
In a way, makes sense. Create enough desperation and anybody can become a potential threat. It creates more poverty and thieves that will attack the rich.
That was not the goal, he was offing all the corrupt people and those calling for “real change” (like in the past), everyone else was just collateral.
His goal wasn't to "show the rich people" it was to out the corrupt.
@@lRomez And how're a lot of the poorer people corrupt?
I don't think anyone cares if they change the Hangman.
That hooker is not into Victor, she's a climber. She a predator and she has her own agenda. She wants to rip Victor off. That's why she slipped him the Bliss.
I ship vic and roxy? the cam girl
Simone recognizing the human in Sofia is my fav part of this
I swear Simone is psychic or something.
Hi Simone 👋
Ya know y'all have been on this 60% this 4 quite a while now ,I'm not so sure ur math is right🤔
Oh there's no math to be done on our part. It's what the analytics data says
In any case new people find the channel just as fast as people are subbing, so the percentage stays relatively the same.
@@CineBingeReact oh I know I was just trying to figure a way to get CB to reply 2acomment, I've been subbed since the first vid I seen look forward 2 everything u2 put out even the travel vlog😱
❤❤😊❤😊😊❤😊❤❤❤
The hangman is sofias father
Sofia is completely justified in the way she act, she is traumatized. If being traumatized is being crazy then eveyone is the world is crazy at one point
I dont care how many incels in the comments say "oh if it was a man, oh its because shes cute" shut up haha, oz is a man and people love him, stop with the hypocrisy
She was framed and basicaly trtured in arkham unjustly. She is more justified than penguin or any memeber of her family.
You have literally ZERO idea if any of that is true, you just want it to be true.
@@lRomez goodjob you were wrong, after watching the current episode everything I said was proven to be correct.
I was so tilted at that "CCP drove him out of Taiwan" dumbass line, but the show did get 100% correct how to haggle with EAsians lmaooooo.
Never thought too much of a good thing could happen.... go back to 3 days a week.
so many amazing tv shows they should be watching but no, they watch this mediocre crap
The Penguin is great.
I'm always excited wane a new episode comes out really excited meaow🦴. 😂
Hangman was the killer who murdered seven women in a row. That's definitely not Sofia. Whether Sofia killed other men or not, it's another story.
In the comics, Sofia Falcone IS the Hangman.
How do you know it's "definitely not Sofia"? Or is that just what you're hoping is true.
