      I’ve seen so many patients on their pre-heart attack moments, they are sweating a lot, they couldn’t seem to find their most comfortable position for they are gasping for air, their skin is so cold, they have a very low blood pressure, most of the times, we can’t even appreciate it, they describe their chest pain as excruciating and it is as if something very heavy is pushing down their chest, the pain is radiating on the left shoulder, their pulse is also fast and weak (thready). ONCE they say that they are dizzy/nauseous, just prepare for the worst since they are likely to lose their consciousness once that happens and cardiac arrest will come thereafter.
      Tsk tsk!

    I always worry that if I or a family member is having a heart attack, the ambulance will take too long to arrive and the person may not have enough time.
    One night I heard my dad dial the house phone. This was 2am so I knew something was wrong! My mother was struggling to breathe and had a fast heartbeat. My dad was talking to the hospital and i could hear the the lady asking all the questions before even sending an ambulance out! It felt like they didn't even care and I was worrying what would happen to me mum! Luckily she's fine now and well. It wasn't a heart attack, it was effect from some tablets which she stopped taking. She shouldn't have stopped fully as they can cause serious problemsthat way!
    The point of this story is that I always worry the ambulance could take too long to arrive and it may be too late whatever the problem may be.

      @voyaage1969 4 роки тому +13

      When they ask questions they have already sent an ambulance out to your home address. They know everything and have trace on you the moment you dial them. They only ask you questions to make sure what is happening so when the ambulance arrives with paramedics they know what they have to do. It's also recommended they keep you on the line in case they have to coach you through providing aid to the person in need.

    • @brad_8711
      @brad_8711 4 роки тому +3

      Like scoobz said, they ask questions in a calm manner so that they can get correct information for crews, it's a nightmare when we end up going to the wrong address because the postcode given was incorrect. They also need the information to assign a level of priority to the call.
      If you are worried about not knowing what to do in a first aid situation, have a look on the SJA website and look into doing a first aid course, giving you the skills and confidence to act in an emergency.

      Third Raikage, well, you have a headache very often right? Your blood pressure is below normal too... well for example salt and salty food can increase the blood pressure, some other natural things can too but you should go to a doctor, I dont know that much, I just ended 1st year of medicine high school so, stay safe bro

      You ask them first, but if the person didn't take aspirin before, I would just give one. Usually, the first time allergy reaction is weaker than the following times

      In heart attack it is better to chew aspirin rather than just swallow it because it gives faster results

    • @davemufcwhitehead2863

      Chewing hits the blood stream quicker and thins the blood to avoid passing out while having a heart attack.
