    Hawaiians really need someone who is as fearless as Haunani to push the envelope. Not spitting words of anger, but backing up emotion with historical fact and ready to challenge anyone who questions its validity and truth. "We are not Americans! We are Hawaiian!" I'm so fortunate to have heard that rebel yell from Haunani in person on the lawn of Iolani Palace.

What is more powerful and effective is teaching this history to the young generation by people or individuals who have the trust of the people and the commitment to stay true and honest to this message. That stopped in 8th grade when my full blooded kanaka maoli mother showed my classmates that she was my mom. Someone reposted part of this on TikTok and called her the "female Malcolm X". No need to compare: BIPOC women have been the backbone of civil/human/indigenous rights for generations, even when the men were being cooked at the stake. Goddess Warriors are what they are. Long may she Reign. Sleep in Peace, queen.

    • @heightsofsagarmatha

    • @heightsofsagarmatha
      @heightsofsagarmatha 5 місяців тому +1

      @terrinceautry it's true, Malcolm X's visit to Mecca changed him, he realized that all humans can live in unity after that. This "heroine" on the other hand had nothing like that. She just contributed to Hawaiians issues with hatred and greed

    • @terrinceautry
      @terrinceautry 5 місяців тому +1

      @heightsofsagarmatha I'll reiterate: bull. First, the "comparison " is merely aesthetic inasfar as she was steadfast for the liberty of her people and their rightful return of stolen land, by the US, I may add. Hawaii was a whole-ass sovereign monarchy when the colonizers...oops, US, came around. Malcolm was nothing less. And, if you are indeed versed in his post criminal life at all, you knew his early rhetoric called for the separation of the races here in good ol' Jim Crow USA. His growth spiritually enlightened him to peace among the races IF THEY EMBRACED ISLAM. He was a very hated man upntonhis murder. And get a clue:BIPOC s cannot be racist at definition.

    • @heightsofsagarmatha
      @heightsofsagarmatha 5 місяців тому +1

      @terrinceautry agreed about his spiritual growth, it's why ppl outside his race and ethnicity look up to him. This "Queen" had nothing of that, she promoted propagandized history for her and her tribe's supposed benefit. She died a hateful, violent leftist and apparently ppl in Hawaii look up to that. Of course she can be hateful despite being "BIPOC" - that's leftist idealogy, it justifies being nasty and hateful. Spirit of control

    Wow! Haunani, who I knew at Kamehameha, and was always dignified there, she now makes me so proud for standing up to this UH institution, that is supposed to teach the truth. But in fact, as we see here is led by liars, white propagandist, hoodlums that perpetuate the Haoli agenda, that of promoting racism in Hawaii, and continuing to spew a twisted historical history of my people, much like what is happening to the American Indians and the Alaskan Native populations. THIS is the same tactic that came from England, and the attempt to take over the world in historical times gone by. Haunani was taken too soon from us. There is much, much more to be brought forward. I hope other young men and women educators will pick up Haunani's torch for the Hawaiian Kingdom. We can't rest until the illegal State of Hawaii, and the war crimes of the United States are abolished. And those of you who work for the illegal government, Hawaiians who are making policy against the Kingdom, (because you are cowards hiding behind "it's my job) will be personally held accountable; you and your families should be censored by own Kingdom and thrown out of Hawaii.

    So much hate directed towards another group based entirely on race from a gal born in California and educated in Wisconsin .Yes Trask grew up Born and raised an American girl with all the freedoms or expression we enjoy as Americans..God bless America, home of the free and the brave.

      The Hawaiian Kingdom doesn’t allow for dual citizenship, as a child of Hawaiian parents she gained their citizenship through the international law of “parentage”, so sorry, but she was a Hawaiian Kingdom citizen.
      Likewise The Hawaiian Kingdom has its own constitution, and THAT is where her freedom of expression was derived.
      Lastly, America has never been the home of the free and the brave, it’s a country born of genocide of Native Americans, built by the blood, sweat and tears of African slaves, by European racists who thought they were entitled to steal the world based on their “pure aryan bloodlines”… you know, manifest destiny and all that bs…. essentially Nazi’s, before Nazi’s existed. Your ancestors taught Hitler well, they really gave him a manual on it.
