Relief Printmaking Using a Laser Cutter

  • Hey Guys,
    Just a short video today. We received a new laser cutter at work so I decided to use one of my more detailed illustrations in combination with the machine to create a relief printing block. This is just a quick video to show how it went. I lost a bit of detail in some areas because my linework was too thin, so this is something I will need to consider in the future. However, I don’t think this will replace hand made relief blocks, it does all you to make plates with much more detail.

    nice work! did u use a fiberboard for the linocut ?

      Yeah it’s 6mm MDF

    well at this point just use a inkjet and print it on paper

      @@indieillo The stupid stuff some people come out with, beggars belief... Anyway, great job. I want to make some hand printed Xmas cards in a woodcut style and am going to use my laser to make the printing blocks. Seeing how well your print came out has inspired me to get going.
