the rolls of bacon in wax paper is basically identical to the stuff used in a lot of fast food sandwich places in the US (at least where I've worked). if I didn't see it come from a can I wouldn't be able to tell a difference.

The reason the food seems slimy or greasy is because the foods are cooked IN the cans. They are steamed and the heat vacuum seals it so nowhere for the juices to go. That's how canning food works.

I grew up on that canned bread. My parents ate it exactly the way you did here, by toasting it with butter. I would love to have some of that bread just now.

Yeah, I would totally eat that bacon! I was expecting MUCH worse (like Spam or maybe hamburger in a can or whole Chicken in a can), but this looks quite edible and like fresh cooked bacon. Even my wife said "yeah, that's actually decent looking bacon, I'd eat that". I thought that packaging was unique, keeping all the bacon seperate and nice. I expected some geltinous gross looking lump of bacon.
I would still heat up the bacon before eating.

My Grandparents had that same B&M brown bread every Christmas back in the 50's.
I really like things in a can so much for some reason . Something satisfying about opening it and finding something different then normal. So far the survival cans have been my favorite
That's a julian date setup on the bacon can, I think....21 for 2021, 332 for around 21st of November....looks good! The B&M Bread is pretty good if you heat it for at least 15 to 20 seconds in the microwave and butter it. :)

When I was a kid in the 1960's we ate that bread at least once a week with baked beans. I'm from New England. I loved it and still do! 😃

Taras, I've had that kind of bacon. If you heat it in a frying pan it is even better and gives a chance to get rid of a lot of the grease. A friend uses the bacon, and even the greasy paper as a trapping lure, so he can get more protein while in the bush.
Any person with blue napkins should be highly protected.
The Burger should came kn a bigger can and with space with the Burger apart for you to build it and the dressings in bags like fast food
