      @Anders Svensek Thats very insulting some of us do not have the money to buy a name on a headstock. I love my Schecter because in my opinion it sounds better, (Duncan designed sh4 alnico pickups) plays just as well, is made from the same wood, is way more comfortable, and cost me 1/20th the price of a logo on a headstock of a thick uncomfortable unaccessible above the 17th fret of the neck heavy block of wood.

      @Anders Svensek Are you 12 years old ''mate''? What kind of a statement is that? Beside the crap you just said, I can give you a 300 dollar guitar after a good setup that plays better that a 3000 dollar guitar. Pull your head out of your ass and grow up. Expensive doesn't always mean better.-

      Bill Kaitsiotis what makes your opinion better then his ? Cause that’s all it is. I love how you all tHink your opinion counts and no one else’s does. Well here is mine I have had 300 dollar guitars and 4000 dollar guitars. Guess what the more expensive ones were better way better. The electronics , fret wire , wood, glue all are better. They last longer. My standard less Paul from the 90s is worth more now then when I bought it. My 300 dollar guitar is worthless maybe 75 Bucks. Yes you can set them up to play good but that don’t make them good , if you have both you play the expensive one. That’s my opinion , just like you have yours so don’t get nasty to other people cause you don’t like their opinions ok “mate”.

      @@wallywanker7435 Read your comment again, understand how arrogant it looks, learn the differences between opinion and statement, turn off your PC and go play with your 40000$ les paul. Just remember ''mate'' that a true musician doesn't really need a 1000000 instrument to produce Grammy winning music (Van Hallen, Tom Morello, Kurt Cobain etc...)

      Yeah sure, but if people make mistakes everytime there's nothing left to trust in, and Gibson has been making mistakes since quite a long time. In my opinion when they crushed hundreds of perfectly made guitars with that stupid tractor instead of giving them to someone who would need it, they just fucked everything up, the respect I always had for the company, even throught all the last bad times with wrong bets made to focus the company, with that last act, they just went out. By the way I have to say that I own 3 Gibson guitar (2 new, 1 second handed guitar), I don't know obout the last owners, but this only proves that the new ones just don't give a fuck for anything but money.

    a big hello from Panama City, Panama! I always dreamed of having a Les Paul. See Slash in every magazine, listen to appetite for Destruction as a creed every day of my childhood ... A Les Paul was a dream. At 44, and with almost 30 years playing guitar, recorded on many local albums, including those of my own band, I could finally have the budget to buy the guitar I wanted. Then, the play authentic video got public...
    Mark became a hero to me. Watching it in his Norman's Rare Guitar video series. Knowing about his contract with Gibson, I told myself: this is what I needed to finally buy the guitar of my dreams ... Bad PR not only ruined my desires for a Les Paul, but it also made me not want to see Mark Agnesi anymore. Believe it or not, I am a proud owner of a Balaguer guitar to my specifications, to my liking, something that, with my budget, would never happened with Gibson. (sorry if my English is bad. it is not my native language)

Likewise, I loved mine immediately, and have been more reserved with my joy for this great instrument. For the record, this makes my 12th guitar, with 7 being daily drivers. It's at the top of the heap. The others include a solar, Jackson's, schecters, deans an Ibanez and a vintage charvel.

    Hi Fluff , thanks a lot for sharing. I really appreciate the sensibility of saying "I'm nervous about but I want to share , anyway." Hence all the polemics, faults and flaws we are used to know about Gibson. Aside the facts about BAD management , bollocks like "only a Gibson is good enough" wrong diplomacies and stuff of that sort , I really think in 2019 the Les Paul's are back to the quality we should pay for. in my humble opinion, in your hands your new guitar can truly become the piece of Art it should be. That's what she's made for. Enjoy!

    As a fellow lover of the Les Pauls, I share this sentiment big time. As someone who owns a 2017 Standard, and gets flamed pretty regularly for loving it, I get it. Thankfully it's a Blueberry Burst, so it gets some bonus points from the public. I also would modify something you said, I think Gibsons from 2016 onwards were when they really significantly upped their quality and nailed it. I would agree that the 2019 line is following suit and is absolutely stellar.

    Thank you for this video. I have a LP 2006 and it is by far my favorite all around guitar. I have favorites for specific situations, but playing in a cover band the LP still is my preference for a versatile and great sounding guitar. I hate the bad press and how the brand is hurting such a classic brand, but I still love the guitars and personally have always been happen with the quality I received (though it sounds like recently the consistency has been an issue). Anyway, music is the sound man. If you get a killer sound on $100 off brand or a $5k custom Gibson I don't care. I just appreciate the time you take to share it, so thank you!

    Sadly there are tons of gear snobs out there who think the only opinion that is correct is their own. Sadly nowadays so many people are intolerant of anyone's view other than them self because of the world we've created with social media. Everyone thinks the entire world needs to be just like they say it should be and it's very very sad.
    When it comes to what guitar people like personal preference matters greatly. It's like trying to tell somebody the music they like is music that shouldn't be listened to, it's just absurd because personal opinion and preference is the ONLY thing that matters. Even if they won't admit it they know Gibson is a huge very in-demand brand that oftentimes does make fine instruments even though quality goes up and down over the years. If you feel you have to tell people then have no shame in doing so. Personally I would just enjoy having it and avoid trolls who want to tell you what you bought is bad simply because it's a Gibson. If you're happy with it that's all that matters.

    I recently started getting back into the guitar. I only own 2 guitars - one cheap off brand acoustic and a 2002 Les Paul Studio which my parents payed for half of on my birthday about 15 years ago. It's a guitar I will never sell because a) I love it and it plays great b) it's got sentimental value. Anyways, congrats on the new guitar - it's gorgeous.

    To me the whole Gibson situation boils down to one thing, Gibson should drop that whole lifestyle idea over the Gibson brand and focus on making guitars.

    Bro. I picked one up, almost identical specs to this one, the other day for the first time. Let me tell you, I definitely had the same reaction. The only thing stopping me from walking out with it was having to pay for college, but man... it was a dang good guitar.

    There’s entirely too much talking about Gibson the company and not the guitars.
    EDIT: Do we even know the reasons behind the bulldozing? If the instruments were below their new quality standards and couldn’t be fixed, then it makes complete sense. Also IP litigation is a very common thing these days, I can’t comment on the merits of their claims because I don’t know enough.

      That wouldn't stop the ones that are playable being donated or sold for much cheaper?

    • @vuriby
      @vuriby 5 років тому

      They couldn't sell them, and there was something about taxes at the end of the year. But I do not live in the USA, so I can't really explain how this works.
      Gibson replied that they were unsafe a few days later but that's bs, knowing that they were brand new and they opened them from their cardboard just to destroy them. Plus they destroyed some ES without any electronic, so not only they're cunts, but they're also liars.
      The truth is that they just didn't want to give them.

    • @Supperconductor
      @Supperconductor 5 років тому

      Nightpacer1 You’re right, but given how much they’ve been criticized for their quality, I wouldn’t have let those guitars go out the door either.

    • @Nightpacer
      @Nightpacer 5 років тому

      @@Supperconductor that's why I said either *donate* them or sell them at a large discount. If people buy them with the knowledge that the quality isn't great and that's *why* they're been sold cheap/donated then you can't expect people to be let down as long as the guitar is playable

    • @Supperconductor
      @Supperconductor 5 років тому

      Nightpacer1 I understood what you meant, but I think that is a bad idea from a branding point of view. Take for example Wedgwood, they destroy any pieces that don’t meet their standards. Any company that markets themselves as a premium brand, they would probably do the same. Especially now under the leadership of the new CEO, they’re trying to turn their reputation around. For years I’ve wanted to buy a Gibson LP, but everyone who has personal experience with the brand told me “Keep looking until you find a good one”. That frankly turned me off completely. In the past, Gibson let substandard guitars go out to retailers that would up destroying them. I can tell you if any of those “seconds” wound up in the hands of an unsuspecting customer, their reputation would sink. I would love to buy a deeply discounted B-Stock Gibson, but I suspect these had serious flaws. Before JC, I had seen some pretty horrific flawed Gibsons at retailers and was told “No discount, sold as is”. I will eventually buy a LP, but it will be made by PRS.

    Dude, you got a badass guitar. Feel good, ignore the haters! I bought a 2018 Gibson and I have had the same experience. I love that guitar, and I have not put it down much since. All my other guitars are jealous. PLAY IT AND BE HAPPY. :D

    This is the reason I'll watch your videos over your guitar review brethren. The sheer honesty in admitting your trepidation is admirable. Coincidentally I recorded a video that's sitting on my iPhone that I was going to share, but through a slightly different lens. Of all my guitars, the one I love playing the most is a Vintage VS100 with Burstbucker Pros and an Emerson prewired kit - it's for all intents and purposes a cheap guitar with a few stupid mods. I would never claim it to be a 60th anniversary reissue, but I didn't buy it/mod it thinking it would be. I just enjoy playing the hell out of it.
    I don't think it's about playing authentic, it's about playing unapologetic. Be proud of that Les Paul you purchased, Fluff. It looks awesome and I'm sure you're going to write some great music on it.

    They knocked it out of the park for the standard 50's and 60's in 19. Seriously badass guitar. I also have a 16 and well it no where near the same quality
