Hi Riggs, If you could edit this video so that the similar clips were back to back, ie Neck pickup on the 64 then the 61, middle on one then the other etc it would be far more useful to compare the two guitars. Thanks and lovely playing
@@jfar3340 No chance, everybody knows as you see on the internet almost daily that Gibsons are not good guitars at least for the money, FACT!! They are way overpriced and not worth it, Heritage guitars are still handmade and worth the money, though they are getting expensive! Heritage Les Paul's, 335 styles, and their Jazz guitars are THE best Gibsons ever made, and they are still made with a couple of the Gibson luthiers from the 60's! If you want 50's and 60's style Gibsons, try Heritage guitars, they are built and sound at least as good as the best Gibsons and better than any Gibson ever made! I have a 1993 Heritage 535, and on stage it kicks all the guitars asses and folks always want to know what the hell I'm using, well they know now and so do musicians who are now realizing the u.s. still makes the best Gibson Guitars named Heritage, THEY ARE BETTER, FACT!!!
@@edwardzizic7218 I’m really starting to favor the patent # pickups over PAF’s overall. The only exception is the 1958 Les Paul Custom (2 pickup) version a few videos ago… that had the BEST sounding humbuckers I’ve ever heard.

Thanks! I debated it and will add timestamps so it’s easier to navigate between them!
For me 64 is brighter, what do you feel?
I agree - a bit brighter and more articulate. Just something about it I really like!
You should try the Heritage 535 (ES335 style), it's a better guitar!
Better than one of these? That's debatable.
@@TeleCaster66 its not debatable, these are better than heritage
It’s tough to be these two, but I’m friends with the Heritage guys and would love to compare them!

as expected they sound identical through youtube; and tbh a pair of seth lovers or burstbuckers wouldve sounded the same. YMMV esp in the room.
There are a lot of great modern pickups - Sunbear makes my favorite humbuckers. Definitely best to be in the room with guitars like this!
Had a 66 ES335 with pat# pickups...sounded incredible!
