Honestly I think the movie mucked this up a bit. Especially since Emma and Daniel's on screen chemistry was better than Emma and Rupert's. The writers clearly made that clear and didn't do Ginny any favors by barely including her in all the moments Harry and Ginny had in the book series.

As a big shipper of Harry and Hermione, I always taught that the only flaw with Harry Potter was Harry not ending up with Hermione.
I just saw their whole friendship something akin to what we seen in Star Wars with Luke, Han and Leia. J.K. Rowling was probably going for that, but just like in real life, you have a crush and go out with someone when you are 16, but then things change and you fall out of love and start to desire other people, same thing can happen with us viewing relationships from the outside.

I think the reason why there were more intimate Harry and Hermione scenes in the movies that weren’t in the books (scenes like Harry and Hermione dancing in the deathly hallows and Harry letting Hermione cry into his shoulder after being heartbroken by Ron) is because the movie writers saw the potential of Dan and Emma’s chemistry on screen and although their characters wouldn’t end up together they wanted to try and explore their relationship as deeper than just friendship.

Ok this is a little off but. People who support the Ron and Hermione have always stuck with a few points.
1. They have chemistry
a: No they don't. This pulling pigtails is not chemistry. They bicker and fight because they are nothing alike. She is a hard worker, driven, and smart. She has big dreams. He is a lazy clout who doesn't want to do anything but barely get by. Tying her to Ron is like giving her a broom and changing her ankles to the ground with a chain of 30' and telling her to try and get to the 5th floor.
2. Hermione belongs with Ron because he never got anything during the books.
a: Bullshit, she is not a prize for him coming in second best. Ron would be dead a half dozen times if not for Hermione being far smart, or harry saving his butt too. Ron does not deserve an reward. He was put into Gryffindor because he is brave sure, but he is not loyal. He has betrayed Harry 2 times off the top of my head literally ending their friendship over his own pride and ego. Can you imagine sticking Hermione with someone who needs to have his ego stroked to stick around. Hell if she got pregnant he would bolt so fast she would have thought he finally mastered apporating.
3. Harry and Hermione have no chemistry or hints.
a: About as many hints as Harry/Ginny did, Books 3, 4, 5 come and go without so much as a passing thought of them together. Harry and Hermione have similar desires. Harry has an ambition that Ron latches onto because it would be cool to be a cop with his best friend. Harry is smart, clever, and thinks on his feet. Hermione is ambitious and clever, she can think and plan with the best of them. Hermione cares about people other than herself, Ron rarely ever things beyond his own needs or the concern of his family and his friends to a lesser degree. Harry literally walked to his own death to try and save his friends. The two have more in common but are not carbon copies like Ginny is to Harry. Hermione pushes Harry to study more and put more effort, which he does. Harry pushes Hermione to relax more and have fun, which she does.

Before I got into the fandom, I used to always think that JK Rowling doesn’t like the idea of normal stereotypical books so I made up a conversation in my head about JKR picturing who Hermione is gonna be with in the future and it kinda went something like this:
“Hmmm, Hermione is a very lovely girl and she deserves someone who truly loves her in the end, but who could it be... Oh yes! Harry Potter, of course! Wait, no, some people will complain about how the hero always gets the girl... hmm. Wait! I know! Draco Malfoy! After all those teasing (and bullying) years, Draco and Hermione will soon fall in love with each other! No no no, some people will also complain about how the misunderstood boy gets the girl... I need someone where the readers are surprised about the pairing at the end... wAIT! RON WEASLEY! OF COURSE!”

I mean I like the book version of Harry and Ginny and for me I think that what Harry said in the deathly hallows is the best description of Harry and Hermione's relationship which is 'shes like a sister to me, I love her like a sister and I reckon she feels the same about me' i never felt they had any romantic chemistry I always felt like Hermione and Ron had that because they were like the bickering couple, but were very fond of one another on the inside. They understood each other better than either of them understood Harry and I think Ginny understood Harry because she knows what it's like to be under the influence of Voldemort. So Im pleased of who they ended up with and I'm glad things worked out the way they did even though I didn't like the relationships as much in the movies.
I think it was just Daniel and Emma’s chemistry on screen tbh. People saw how well they worked together.

Thanks for shattering my heart into tiny pieces Rowling! Don't get me wrong, I am a HUGE Harmione shipper but I'm just mad at Rowling because the HP series is already finished and she JUST changed her mind. Here's a tip, MAKE SURE YOU ARE CONFIDENT WITH THE CHOICES YOU MAKE! And now that she wishes Harry and Hermione together, I really want her to write like another HP book. Fan fictions don't work for me.
But what I said rowling if it is that by credibility or what happens in real life what Ron and hermione is something that happens almost never without then separate. The relationship of Ron and hermione in real life is not healthy at all. That's why he said that the relationship of Ron and Hermione is something more of her and not with what happens in the real world. In the real world, that type of couple is incompatible.

This shows what a difference film adaptations can do for perceptions on relationships. In the books Harry and Ginny's relationship was sweetly written and was cute to read Ginny's transformation from a shy little girl who didn't speak in front of him to a young woman who snaps him out of his melancholic feelings in the aftermath of his overhearing the order members suspecting that he was being possessed by Voldemort and won his heart as such.
However, you get no such situation in the films. Prior to Half-blood Prince, the two of them were hardly ever on screen together. It was abundantly clear that the script writers and through them the producers and directors thought Harry and Hermione were going to end up with each other. They had countless scenes where they had chats with the two of them and a lot of Hermione's lines were Harry's or Ron's in the books. In short, in the films, Harry and Hermione were the better partnership. For the most part this is based on the chemistry between Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson and how their on screen relationship reflected their off screen relationship

I think most of the people who don't like the pairings haven't read the books (not everyone before people jump down my throat). But if you read the books the Harry and Ginny relationship is very well built up. And Harry literally never shows any interest in Hermione as more than a friend in any of the books. And to everyone saying Ron and Hermione fight a lot so it doesn't make sense, you have to remember that they are teenagers, usually younger boys do that when they like a girl because they don't know how to talk to them properly.

Ask any writer, and they will tell you that they can’t read any of their own writing without cringing. As for me, whenever I’m rereading something I wrote that is now up there on the internet, I always think of how I would have written things differently, but I don’t change it because, again, when it’s done it’s done, and the best way show what you would have done differently is to do things differently in the future. When Monet finished Water Lilies, he didn’t go back ten years later and decide to add some kids splashing in the pond.

At the time I thought it was because Rowling really wanted the main trio to be related with each other.
I don’t really care about the on screen chemistry between the actors of Ron and Hermione. It was the books that made me think Harry and Hermione were going to be a thing, even though in retrospect Rowling probably set it up in the fourth book when Hermione was with Krum and fought with Ron because of that.

I remember the first time I read Deathly Hallows I thought we were going to get harry + Hermione....I think it was the chapter with the doe patronus where Hermione and Harry have a disagreement but Harry take the blame and as Hermione walks back in the tent she lightly brushes Harry on the top of the head. At that moment I thought it was going to happen. But 20 pages later Ron is destroying a horcrux and is back in the group and it all seems so unlikely

I think Ron and Hermione had to end a couple. It is the only way that Harry can have all his family together. Harry's family after his parents' death has always been Ron's. If he had fallen for Hermione, not only Ron would have been left out, but also Harry would have lost the only family he has known for the whole series. He had already lost his godfather as well, I think the end is NOT a mistake. And there are signals throughout the seven books about Ron and Hermione and Harry and Ginny. In my country we have a popular sentence that says: "fighting love is the most beloved", no wonder Ron and Hermione are fighting all the time (she just wants him to improve, she is a little bossy at the beginning). I myself used to fight my first boyfriend in school long before dating. I understand that perfectly.

I just wish they all started dating earlier in each series. Harry and Ginny started dating in the second to last book and Ron and Hermione didn’t start dating until near the very end of the last book. The books and movies paid too much focus to the plot line of good witches and wizards vs Voldemort and his Death Eaters.
Way around this have Harry and Hermione get together. And have one of Harry and Hermione's children get together with one of Ron's or one of Ginny's kids book connected

Plus, Hermione and Ron were absolutely toxic for each other. I rarely remember a time reading the books when they just had general conversation without going at each others throats.

In my mind I believe there was more chemistry with Harry and Hermione, its true, but of course they dont need to be together, her and Ron are a good ship. But on the other hand on the ship of Harry and Ginny, zero build up from early on, when they got together it was out of the blue, I've read the books so I know, Harry just suddenly takes interest into Ginny, so it was hard to be a fan of them together. But no need for hate, settle your frustration into writing fan fiction. Its better.

J.K. Rowling teased Hermione and Harry getting together so much in the books. Much more then the movies. I was honestly shocked when her and Ron got together in the end.
I think JK Rowling changed her mind twice the story told that they would always end up together and then the end she switched and only now is she seeing that throughout her whole story the ending didn't fit what was written Hermione showed Harry many many times that she not only care for him and grew feelings for him but also loved him more than a friend more than a sibling she truly loved Harry and on that note throughout the entire story Hermione showed Ron she really didn't care much about him so to me it's more like the girl didn't get the guy of her dreams vs the guy getting the girl of his dreams if you ask me I am on team Hermione and her getting her man Harry

It's a matter of wording, sure, but I don't think saying "in some ways, Hermione and Harry are a better fit" is exactly the same as saying Harry should have wed Hermione. As I interpret it, she's talking about how things could have happened, hypothetically. Not how they necessarily should have happened.
"And actually I liked that scene in the film, because it was articulating something I hadn't said but I had felt. I really liked it and I thought that it was right. I think you do feel the ghost of what could have been in that scene."
Rowling talks about how she thought Deathly Hallows screenwriter Steve Kloves addressed Harry and Hermione's connection during the tent scene in the film. My mind goes right to the scene where they dance together.
It's sweet and a little awkward with a hint of romance that doesn't necessarily need to be acknowledged as romance. The scene suggests the alternative in a way that doesn't actually drastically change the course of either relationship (Ron/Hermione, Harry/Hermione). It simply notices it and then the story moves on.
Then she says;
"Oh, maybe she and Ron will be alright with a bit of counseling, you know. I wonder what happens at wizard marriage counseling? They'll probably be fine. He needs to work on his self-esteem issues and she needs to work on being a little less critical."
She goes on to say that Hermione, "just like her creator," has a weakness for funny men. Watson agrees that uptight girls do like them funny.
So maybe humor proves to be the bonding factor between Ron and Hermione. Maybe Ron will outgrow his insecurities. Maybe Hermione will be less critical. These are things Rowling discusses near the end of the interview, suggesting that she doesn't think it would've been impossible for them to work through their differences.

I just feel like it was a little weird because Ginny wasn’t explored as much as she should’ve been. And I get it, she wasn’t apart of the golden trio. It’s just kinda like they never had the moment we all wanted after the battle of Hogwarts like there was in Half-Blood Prince after the Quidditch Cup was won

I always ship H&H but it's okay because the book is now perfectly written. Although I love to see H&H so much but R&H is cute too. What is annoying me is H&G. Personally, I don't feel their chemistry even in the book but I sense Harry with Hermione and Harry with Luna.

I honestly didn't like harry and ginny at first either but I actually have learned to love them through the books. I feel like they're relationship was slowly been built on and how JKR has hinted that they have a very similar humor many times and how they understood each other without anything being said. In the books, Ginny is smart, funny, independent. And that's why I ended up thinking she is perfect for Harry. The movies don't really do her justice. I actually wouldn't have mind if Hermione ended up with Fred....but then....sad....

Back when I first read the books I really expected Harry and Hermione together. But I like that they're not together. Harry saw Hermione as a little sister and honestly I think the ship would be kind of basic. Just my opinion

IGDAF what JK Rowling says. I still ship Ron and Hermione. Sure, I think their realtionship in the movies could have been improved (same with Harry and Ginny's even more so), but I still ship them. I see no romantic chemsitry between Harry and Hermione. Hermione is like a big sister to Harry and I like that dynamic between them. Can a boy and a girl not be best friends in a platonic relationship WITHOUT so many people shipping them as a romantic couple? Sure, they argued a lot, but that's what people who like each other do. If Hermione and Harry shared so much as a kiss, I would bloody cringe.
