      hey josh beats i am not a pro but i had the same issue when i was starting parkour i would recoment going vegan for a few weeks and od cardio workouts this will not build muscle but it will burn fat and help with stamina and endurance and help get your leg into condition so it will not hurt when you land

    • @tnathlete463

      Stephen Pitre Thanks and no thanks. I don't want to become Vegan at all. My goal was to do parkour now I have no goal right now all I'm doing is walking because of Pokemon Go, I'm doing Push Ups and Pull Ups when I'm bored and I only do like Safety vault,Precison jump,Wall Runs,And Parkour rolls👋 well just a little bit. But I mostly work do push ups and Pull Ups because of pushing my body up and pulling my self up so that important I weight 213.4 pounds right now I'm still Fast,Im Still strong, and I still got my ability and movements of parkour I just haven't practice.
      But Thanks Again for help! God Bless You and have a Good Day!

      Steven Henderson Thanks And No thanks bro. I always stick with sugar in my body because that's is who I am. I don't be a Kid who has like 5 to 15 percent sugar I'm more like 30 to 70 percent sugar or more but I am not going to go try hard for just a speed vault no I'm not I am going to think and take my time and be able to say should I get back into it. Or just do something else. Either one is a difficult choice because I love parkour. And if I do it will effect my body and I will break a bone and get into a surgery. But that all depends on if your doing proper Form and Technique on all Movements.

      If you mean a shaky fence id go with a safety or gaet vault. If you feel like it might break id say dont try it.

    I've found the most useful aspect of the side/speed vault that is never mentioned is bending the knees before taking off. Try taking off running with normal form (nearly straight legs)... there isn't enough movement of your centre of gravity to clear the obstacle. If you lower your body for the last two steps like in a kong before taking off (and then fully extend the jumping leg) you get waaay more height. What do you think tappbrothers? Granted lifting your hips sideways also makes a bit difference

    Just got my very own vault box in my back yard so I can start learning parkour. I felt pretty good about my safety vault and thought I was ready for the speed vault but this video showed me something very important; to let go of the obstacle mid-jump. I was wondering why I kept almost doing a 180 when I went over it and this video explained that perfectly. Thank you for the awesome tutorial :D

    hey just some tips for your vids would be:
    1. Tell us the tricks/things we should know before attempting something. eg. i want to side flip but should i be able to cartwheel and aerial first? stuff like that.
    2. Tell us how to recover if we fall or fail during something. Do i roll? tuck in my chin? etc
    Keep up the good work ^-^

    Is the speed vault like the dash?

    • @TappBrothers
      @TappBrothers  9 років тому +6

      +Liyan Liu Hope all is well! The speed vault technique is different than the dash and when performed correctly, the 2 will look different as well. The dash will incorporate the use of both hands on the obstacle you are vaulting. The speed vault only requires one hand. Another difference is how where you carry your hips during the vault. With the speed vault, you will be carrying your hips up and to the side. With the dash vault, you will be carrying the hips up and forward. The dash vault tends to be more difficult and it requires more flexibility/coordination to perform. I find both the speed vault and dash vault can be used in fast pace situations and runs. If you want to learn the dash, check out the tutorial we made over that vault here: ua-cam.com/video/rMlyD1thViE/v-deo.html

    • @liyan02813
      @liyan02813 9 років тому

      +TappBrothers I already know how to do the dash vault, but the speed vault seems a little harder to learn for me. Right now, I'm learning the front flip. I've been training by flipping of a curb into sand, and now I can land it, but when I try to bring it and attempt it on grass, I cheat into it and then I get scared, do have any tips that I can use to help me front flip on grass? Cause I'm tired of just flipping into sand.

    • @brendangray1699
      @brendangray1699 9 років тому

      +Liyan Liu Personally, I don't do flips. But if you think you're ready to perform a move, you probably are. It may take a while to build up the courage, but it will be worth it once you master the movement. Good luck!

    • @liyan02813
      @liyan02813 9 років тому

      +Brendan Gray thanks, but whenever I say to myself, okay you're going to do this flip, I end up stopping and doing nothing at the last second, but I don't push the flip aside.

    My biggest problem is trying to do vaults and climbs with my bare hands on rough surfaces. I have really soft skin and it tears easy so I usually end up with a few scrapes on my hands. I've tried building up callouses but it doesn't help and I can't find a good pair of gloves.

      +Morgan Freeman When you are going to do a frontlip you have to be medium fast and when you are going to do it on the ground. So in the end of the running you take your left or right leg in front of you and when the right/left leg has landed you jump take your feet together take your hands up jump take your hands down fast grab your knees and that should do it :)

      gamelord47 Yup. Now I m making my Front Handspring better. If you start parkour in this age it will be easier because you have less body weight and you have more activeness. Now its up to you that when you have to start parkour.

      @grantmata5438 9 років тому

      +Yousef Alhelabi Calisthenics is working out using only your body weight. Parkour is getting to point a to point b as fast as you can. So this video is parkour.

    What's the vault where you're walking along a railing, and then you vault over it? Like, say you have a rail on your right side, and you're walking straight, parallel to the rail. Then, you put your right hand on the rail, and jump over, landing perpendicular to the rail. Is there a name for that vault?

    I'm having trouble with this vault.
    Also I do the vault reversed. So I do it with my left hand and right foot and vice versa
    But whenever do it. This vault I can't never do it straight on.i always have to come at it from a angle. Like left angle with left hand etc. And when I try to do it straight ahead of from a opposite angle I always stop and then before I vault. Its like a lazy or thief vault almost. How do I fix this?
