Just finished a roof today. Flashband was a pain to get joined accurately to 2 surfaces at the same time. I decided to cut the backing tape in half. Then i glued the top half to the wall. When this was done i then removed the backing tape from the bottom half and glued that down to the roof. I also cut the flashband into 1m lenghts to make it more manageable. Finally, i stuck a single length of narrower flashband overlapping the top of the supplied flashband. Now to see what happens when it rains.
Bit of feedback from fitting a roof today: it would have been extremely helpful if you’d said in the video to pre-drill the holes for the fixing buttons before fitting the solid and vented tape so the flutes could be hoovered or blown out: had just got two panels taped, end caps fitted, lifted up onto the rafters and drilling the first hole for a fixing button filled the flute with plastic swarf. Now considering whether to take it all down and strip the tape before pre-drilling or just have it look a mess.
I wat to make double wall acrylic similar to double wall POLYCARBONATE sheets. Any idea if double wall acrylic with have a better insulation property's that the double wall polycarbonate ? I'm attempting to make a glass studio/office.
I found you video extremely helpful, however Its a shame you didn't go to greater detail in drilling the 18mm button hole, did you drill a pilot hole first? what type of drill to use? as making a mistake here becomes an expensive error. Could you give some more detail please.
You didn't show how to get those confounded caps on the fixing buttons , darned near impossible to get some of those buttons into it's hole , if you had a bit longer length of plastic between the pull off cap and the button ,it would give us something to hold on to while tapping in the cap .
Most of them require a minimum of 1/12, but you are better off with a minimum of 2/12. It also really depends on the thickness/strength of the sheets you are using. They can vary a lot, from 8mm two wall, to 32mm 7 wall as far as the snow loads they can carry.

Excellent presentation. Very well described. Thank you,
What about these on timber wall frame, how you join them together, these bars are for roof?

when you drill the hole particles of polycarbonate gett into the flutes and is very difficult to remove.
What is a span with a4x8 sheet will it span 8 feet thanks

What is the minimum pitch/slope that you recommend for multiwall poly-carbonate sheets?
Most of them require a minimum of 1/12, but you are better off with a minimum of 2/12.

@@darrynfrost3401 cheers!
Simply put it’s a 5-10degree slope, to facilitate rainwater run off and self cleaning.
